You’re forced to write dozens of paid letters before you can exchange real contact info, and even then, they suddenly need more time or claim technical problems. Introductory letters promise real meetings, but once you’re paying, responses become slow, short, or stop entirely. Many profiles are repeated, emails copy-pasted, or completely fake. The site policy is that you have to write 15 paid letters before you can exchange contact info.
