Expertise that saved us time and money!
The team at Leyton's helped us navigate the complex waters of the new rules related to HMRC's R&D tax credits submissions. They utilised our data and project files and provided us with accurately drafted submissions that related to the specific criteria required by HMRC. What would probably have taken us months they were able to do in a couple of weeks! Their detailed understanding of the new regime, meant that we didn't waste time on projects that simply wouldn't qualify... allowing us to focus on our business rather than being distracted by the HMRC processes and rules.

We have been working with Leyton UK for the past four years to prepare and submit our R&D tax credit claims. Leyton has made the process of calculating and documenting our claims seamless by providing a team that is commercially astute and able to engage effectively with both IT and finance staff. Communication needs to be improved but in the end did get us a R&D rebate.
TL/DR - It has taken nearly a year to get our R&D claim finalised and funds sent to us. While they do have the technical skills and ability to get you the funds, we have found that their communication left a lot to be desired until we added a 1* review here.

We first were approached by Leyton nearly a year ago to get an R&D rebate on 2 years of our software development. We were told we could get a substantial amount back after reviewing all of our documentation. We then agreed with this and left Leyton to do their thing while helping when required, come submission time, we had an email back from HMRC saying that they couldn't accept the submission as the letter of authority was missing. This now meant we had missed the cut off date, Leyton and then followed up that letter with the LOA from us but never provided any proof or explanation that this would have been accepted by HMRC. They they demanded to be paid in full including their fee for successful submission when from our perspective they had failed this point. Our Accountant could not see any evidence of it being submitted on the portal and whenever it was requested from Leyton they went silent on us. We had offered to pay the standard fee without the submission fee until they proved it had been done.
This pattern of them asking for money, us asking for proof they did their job followed by silence carried on until around 6 months later we received a letter with the threat of a fine for a false submission from HMRC.
Leyton would only assist after a 1* review was put on Trustpilot and being paid both their fee plus their commission for a successful submission even though at this point it was rejected.
Following this, at every point of communication they had with me they requested the review was removed as they were helping and communicating and had done the submission.
We had finally had HMRC back down and agree to provide us with our R&D rebate.
I would say that they may have people who know what they are doing, but they are not good at communicating or being proactive unless a negative review is placed.

I switched to Leyton from another R&D Claim provider who sat on our case for months without doing anything. The team at Leyton was exceptional and has been helping us for the last 2-3 years. We have been dealing with Aveen and Yacine primarily and recently with Mouad.
Would definitely recommend their services.
