Learn Russian with AriOmdömen 

So far (1/2 of the materials) the course is brilliant, light and effective. I was surprised to notice I begin to understand certain russian videos and reels (certain parts at the moment). Sure, it requires an initial amount of money, but since what I've seen so far it's absolutely worth it. Russian grammar is hard and studying by traditional ways is not always very rewarding. Ari is a great teacher, and if you're serious about russian, I feel like conversation 1 gives the just the initial click you need to understand all the basic concepts.

NB: if you're really serious about russian and you're considering the offer, I highly recommend you to get advantage of the initial offer you receive. At the subscription moment, you are offered to buy conversation 2 and 3 by 50% discount. Do yourself a favour and buy it, cause you won't be given a second chance to accept that offer. (I mean again, if you are serious and feel you like his style).

I have current subscriptions to RussianPod 101 and Fluent Forever Russian, and a one-time paid Rocket Russian.

They are all full of things to learn, decent presentation, and other fine stuff, but they don't have any place for the student to really be faced with the decision burden of 'what do I put together to say my stuff and not theirs?'

Which is what I now see as the essential 'problem' of learning a language: Given a big pile of elements, words, some grammar, some example usage, a few canned phrases, how do I decide which pieces to
use?.

Basically it's decision overload for the student, and they don't offer any way to get past it.

Your course is taking an approach that is what I see as a direct solution to the decision overload problem. You present an element or two, and then instruct in detail all the things that can be done with those elements.

And then add an element, and show what can be done with it, added to the previous. By the time the lesson is done, the student has a habit of building useful sentences out of all the elements they have learned
to that point. Most importantly, they have the practice of putting these elements together in different ways, IN REAL TIME!, and getting them to the point of usefulness.

And equally importantly, they have carved the existing decision burden back down to a good reference point, so that they are free to learn more elements without an unmanageable, ever-growing pile of unclear decisions.
Learning a language isn't about learning crap, it's about being able to communicate, even imperfectly, with what you have. Somehow I had never really grasped that essential until I started this course.

Ari, thank you! I am learning, and enjoying the learning, and it's not going to building piles of 'someday it will be useful'. It's useful NOW.

The course is really fantastic - Ari is EXCELLENT & always there if you need to reach out for ANY questions. The course is not too fast and not too slow

I found CU 3 the hardest and best of the series so far. I especially find the Anki tests at the end helpful, and I revisit them frequently. The last lesson 80 proved that I was too confident and need to go over it more but it was the best one.

Learn The Russian Language truly motivates me to return to the courses and review what I’ve already learned. The delivery that Ari offers, both in speaking like a native and speaking slower for pronunciation, helps me to connect the sound and subject of the material. The grammar (infinitives, cases, etc.) and memorization will take time for me to coalesce into my studies. I’m so excited to be a part of Conversations Unlocked and eventually become someone who’s comfortable in speaking Russian!

I know a lot more conversational Russian now compared to when I started the course. The length and content of each lesson is just right for me and I like the way Ari weaves previous lessons into the later ones.

I just finished the course and I thought it was super helpful. I've been studying the Russian language for 5 years and I still have difficulty speaking easy sentences. This program prompts you to speak out loud, not just in your head. I'm actually going to review it again. My advice is get the basics down before you proceed and this course is perfect for that.

A great introduction to the Russian Language.
Ari has designed a very accessible course of instruction that gives the beginner an immediate sense of engagement with the language. I learned useful phrases at the same time as getting to understand Russian grammar. The modules are just the right length so I never felt overwhelmed and it was easy to backtrack if I needed to. Ari's diction is very clear and his sense of humor makes the lessons fun. The module content builds a good understanding of elementary Russian. I highly recommend Learn The Russian Language and I'm looking forward to Stage Two.

I came to this course with knowledge of the Russian alphabet already and some knowledge of grammar; however, I was frustrated because I had been studying Russian for a while but wasn’t making much progress speaking it. This course changed that! It has a big emphasis on learning to actually speak the language and formulate your own sentences with the guidelines given in the lessons. These lessons really make you think and challenge you to keep up with the new material but are repetitive enough to help you remember what you’ve been learning. They are the perfect length as well! 15-20 minutes is an efficient amount of time to get in a quick audio Russian lesson on the go. Following along with the transcripts when I’m able to has been incredibly helpful as well. I would recommend this course to anyone hoping to learn Russian and improve their conversational skills in a short amount of time!

I really like the course because Ari understands exactly how to learn Russian since he isn't a native speaker, and he had to figure it out how to learn it by himself.

He also communicates with people who invest in his course and does not ignore people in the course.

Ari Heldeman is a genius, I swear. He somehow manages to distill all that is bombarding us in Russian language learning into a manageable and workable learning routine. Oh how I wish that I had known Ari years ago when I first decided to learn Russian. His "Conversations Unlocked" is a remarkable work when you compare it to the audio programs which have been available for some time. Trust me, I have tried them. It was only after I asked Ari to help me in my struggle to learn the Russian language that I started to make real progress. I am convinced that anyone else who truly wants to achieve fluency in Russian can do it. Ari and his programs have made it possible to achieve success in this language so much quicker than I could have otherwise. I really enjoyed learning Russian in this course. It was convenient every day about 15-20 min time and after a month you experience that you can talk a bit of Russian! Sometimes I did a lesson while driving home from work, other times at home in the evening sitting and listening.
Also to watch a Russian movie is motivating because you recognize words while listening to native speakers.
I used to think Russian was very difficult but now, after doing Ari's course, I realize it is not!

Story Learning helps me learn vocabulary (and how to use it) that is commonly used in conversations. I can also pick and choose which parts of Story Learning that I need to focus on. For example, because I grew up among Slavic people {in the US), where I regularly heard Russian spoken, I don't need to focus so much on pronunciation. The other thing I like about Story Learning is that I can go at my own pace with it. However, I know I'm not going fast enough (because of my busy life), which is my own fault. Nevertheless, thank you for Story Learning.

It is great for a Dutch man what he has composed in his Russian courses and videos. I can only recommend to buy and learn with him. If you have any questions, he will be there for you with help, Tipps or advices in a short time.

It was a brief conversation, but as indicated by title, thanks to this course I actually was able to use what I learned to formally say goodbye and give well wishes to a native Russian speaker.
