Warning: They confirm the booking, then cancel it – no refund.
Lead Adventure Tours also rents out the accommodation “Lead Adventure Premium Desert Camp Deluxe Room”. This is where we had the following experience:
Warning – Avoid this property
We strongly advise against booking this accommodation. They charge your credit card but do not actually have a room available.
During the time of the attacks on Iran, we were in Dubai and needed to leave the city urgently to reach Oman and get out of the affected area. We found this property on Booking.com, completed the booking, received confirmation, and the full amount of €450 was immediately charged.
Shortly afterwards, the property contacted us and informed us that they were fully booked and could not provide a room. We asked them to cancel the reservation on their side so that we could receive a refund. However, they told us that we had to cancel it ourselves, even though no free cancellation option was offered.
We then initiated a free cancellation via Booking.com, including a detailed explanation, and informed the property accordingly. They assured us that they would take care of the refund.
After several follow-ups, the property stopped responding to our messages and calls (including WhatsApp). The payment, however, has not been refunded.
Please be careful – this appears to be a case of unjustified retention of payment. We strongly recommend avoiding this accommodation.

Svar från Lead Adventure Tour
Dear Valued Guest,
We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback, and we deeply regret the challenging experience you faced during such a stressful time.
We understand your frustration regarding the €450 charge and the accommodation cancellation. We want to clarify our role in this situation: Lead Adventure Tour serves as the supplier, while Booking.com acts as the intermediary platform for this reservation. Per our agreement, all refund matters and cancellation policies are governed by Booking.com's terms and conditions, which we must adhere to.
In this particular case, given the last-minute nature of the booking, Booking.com's non-refundable policy applied. While we genuinely wish we could have resolved this differently, we were unfortunately constrained by the platform's policies and could not override their refund procedures.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and distress this caused during an already difficult period for you. Your situation highlights a gap we must address, and we will review our booking processes to prevent similar issues in the future.
We encourage you to escalate this matter directly with Booking.com's customer support team if you haven't already done so, as they have the authority to review exceptional circumstances.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We hope to have the opportunity to restore your confidence in our services.
Warm regards,
Lead Adventure Tour
