They dispute all your claims…
They seem to spend all of their time finding ways not to pay. Bloods are covered, but they won't tell you where. On the surface looks like the cover is good, but they dispute you on everything. Go to Irish life instead
Terrible service
Terrible service. After reaching out for help and going through a drawn out process of endless personal questions over the phone "to reach the criteria" I was told my problems are too much to avail of the 6 complimentary counselling sessions. I expressed my disappointment that of this and the time and energy wasted. No concern was given or a follow up.
Appalling customer service
Appalling customer service, they dont answer phones, they dont answer email
The worst ever
Terrible service , I will not be using them again
I'm a Prime member
I'm a Prime member, paying for what is supposed to be the highest level of cover, but my experience has been extremely disappointing.
Last year, I went in with severe back pain and could barely move. I paid the consultation fee, paid again for the painkillers, and they didn't solve the problem. I ended up spending the next 2–3 months researching my symptoms and finding my own solution.
More recently, I've had episodes where I suddenly feel like I'm about to pass out, with dizziness, the room spinning, a wave of weakness, and a severe headache afterwards. After nearly fainting twice in one week, €43 for an online GP appointment, only to be told to go to the clinic. I then paid €25, where the examination mainly involved simple head movements before I was sent home with painkillers. Nearly €100 spent, and I still left without answers.
From my experience, it felt like I was paying for appointments rather than getting real help. I expected much better from a Prime membership. If you're considering paying extra for Prime, I'd seriously question whether it's worth it.
Very bad experience
Very bad experience, we have Laya through my husband's work, but we will for sure go back to Irish Life, which are miles better.
First, they added to the premium because of our age, and a minor break in cover over the past decade. Then, I submitted a claim for a doctor's appointment. It was about 50 Euro, got only 17 back because, apparently, not only do they only cover a percentage of the bill, there's also "co-pay" on top of that...
Then, my husband goes to the same doctor, same bill amount, and they keep refusing his claim, because "they don't know what currency this is!" Doctor's name, country, and currency/amount on the bill, my bill was identical, and was accepted. We kept submitting the info they asked for, they kept rejecting.
They can keep their sad 17 Euros, the worst part is the horrific customer experience, and the cost of the plan - 0 value for the customer, not even worth the tax we pay on it.
After many years we are leaving Laya…
After many years we are leaving Laya due to increases in cover. However, it is with a heavy heart as I found this company to be so good. A family member had a terminal diagnosis and needed life saving cover in a private facility that I understood I had asked for when renewing but days before the procedure they told me it was not covered. I thought my failure to read the fine print would see treatment denied. But they called us that evening and reviewed their sales call with me. They agreed it was unclear on their part and as long as I paid the difference in premium they covered the procedure. This is a rare experience but customer service personnel were phenomenol in getting to the root of this without me even asking as I thought it was "fait accompli" Avoid getting the travel insurance as it is a horrible product and adds stress when you actually need it. Webchat could be so much better and the app is temperamental. However, Laya are upfront about costs, increases and options. I am truly sorry to leave but its a huge difference in cost with better out of pocket returns.
These people are pioneers in The…
These people are pioneers in The Annoyance Economy. For those unfamiliar with the term, the Annoyance Economy is a passive aggressive way of eliminating service while still charging fees, sending you round the houses with chatbots in hopes you will just get frustrated and give up, while they still take your money but provide less and less.
Have a question? They think they are Facebook, and will drown you with marketing information (as they don't have Community Standards)
Want to know how to access services they advertise? Good luck - they don't seem to know they offer these benefits.
Want an answer to a question? They will act like you are an eejit and try to palm you off with irrelevant information. They actually tried to direct me to my employer's HR for information on how to access their services.
Untransparent company with willingly incompetent agents

I did notice a pretty substantial increase in cost on month health cover, not good to see but I know everything is going up. However I wanted to review my plan and spoke to Mike in there customer service team, he was absolutely brilliant! Talked me through my level of cover and what he felt I needed or didn’t need. He had an exceptional manner on the phone, the American accent helped!
i used the video call service
i used the video call service. have eczema at the moment and asked for a shower gel with urea. no prescription forthcoming which is ok if i had been told but i wsnt the itching is very bad and stopping me sleeping
Loss of cover without being informed
At renewal every year I ask not to lose any cover and when lodged a claim for a scan that I get every year same hospital they said they don't cover that hospital anymore.also the primary care clinic in cherrywood you never had to pay and now you do. I'm leaving at renewal after 12 years not good enough
Thanks to Agnes/Laya. Date below is appox
I dealt with Agnes who was helpful, articulate and explained the best options for me and when adjustments were made to the plan - my premium is reduced.
Thanks to Agnes..

Impossible to get through to
Impossible to get through to. Rang them last week and was forced to email. That was a week ago. Now just got a phone call from them - which last abouted 2 seconds so I didn't have time to pick up.
Very disappointing experience with Laya…
Very disappointing experience with Laya Healthcare. My policy was automatically renewed and a large premium was deducted from my bank account without my explicit consent. The company relied on automated emails and voicemail attempts as evidence of communication, despite the fact that no renewal agreement was made. The issue has had to be escalated to the Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman. I would advise customers to be very careful with automatic renewals.
Avoid, Avoid, Avoid. Honestly they don’t even deserve 1…
Honestly they don’t even deserve 1 star. The worst experience I’ve ever had with a doctor in my life. She was so rude to me, was very condescending, clearly didn’t want to be there, spoke down to me the whole time & made me feel so uncomfortable. I ended up refusing to be treated by her due to her attitude & they still charged me a €190 for a GP consultation. Then when I sent an email to complain about the way I was spoken to by the doctor, all they had to say was they were sorry I didn’t have a nice experience.I literally left in tears. Avoid at all costs. All they want is your money, they don’t care about anything else
The app won't let me register
The app won't let me register. I wait 25 minutes to speak to an agent who is full of ideas but never comes back. I'm on my third round of this treatment.
Laya just changed their Terms and…
Laya just changed their Terms and Conditions in secret without customers accepting it and without notifying customers in any way, which is illegal.
This terms and conditions link from android APP from booking process doesn't provide any info on the charge /pages/laya/laya_terms_and_conditions
During booking process never once you mention any cancelation fees
Moreover not at any point you sent any email about cancellation fee. Which normal company who actually cares about customers would never do.
Some hidden page on your website which for whatever reason was updated without notice does mention fee
While before this fee was claimaBLE now you changhed terms AND MADE IT UNCLAIMABLE
WELL DONE LAYA
All for money nothing for customers
Awful company
Awful company. No reward for years (nearly 20) loyalty. Just money grabbing whilst reaping benefits.
Avoid at all costs.
Shameful behaviour.
