Lambeth Council Omdömen 

The lambeth council website is literally the worse council website I've ever used. I pay my council tax every month and choose "paperless" billing. I even got an email from them saying the council tax bill is ready. However when I logged in the website, it's BLANK under my service or my dashboard. The council tax bill is so high compared with what I paid when I lived in Ealing - yet the service level is incomparable. I tried to call them but was put on hold on 30 mins - how is this possible? Fix your website and have more staff

Up top - appreciate I am very much in the wrong for what I did: I totally accept I deserved a punishment befitting a fine.

To explain - I was passing through the borough on a way from Waterloo to a meeting. Was in a rush to cross the street, distracted, had no bins nearby - and flicked a cigarette. Now again, thats not cool - so apologise again.

BUT, at least 200m later I get caught up by some paramilitary looking member of the council, who flashes a badge and explains he saw my contravention.

Im compliant, so gave all my details. I kept asking how much the fine was but he wouldnt tell me. He finally printed it, handed it to me and scarpered. £375 ... £250 if you pay within 10 days ... £2500 if you fail to pay.

To pay online you have to manually enter a c60 character website - making it purposefully difficult to actually even pay. Bonkers!! We were next to a bin that was over flowing, with rubbish all over the street.

Everything thats wrong with this world! Lambeth council opitimising how every organisation is looking to eek out every penny they can from whomever they can - whether its late fees, fines, interest ... whatever helps them top up their budget

Worst council I have ever dill with. Only residents can charge electric cars from street chargers. Other councils in London are much more friendly. But Lambeth is the best PNC hunter. Soon they will introduce a ban on entry to certain streets on odd days of the month to penalize "careless" drivers.

As everyone else is saying it should be minus 10 points, so many issues with Lambeth we’ve had a disrepair asbestos hanging down from a ceiling in a bedroom for 7 years not been able to use this room with two kids on the property we all sleep in the same room 12 year old son 3 year old daughter and me, my mental health has deteriorated significantly, we also had a gas engineer to do annual gas check he left the screw of the nipple open leaving is with a significant gas leak for over 24 hours, we were very lucky the house didn't explode, my legal team have been trying to get them to decant us for a week so they can remove the asbesto, it’s taken 7 years they have missed 4 court orders and just keep paying compensation which isnt enough for me to remove the asbestos myself, it’s a complete waste of tax payers money and they should of organised this easily, last week we were suppose to be decanted they only booked space for me and my son not my daughter and then the work men turned up after we were suppose to be back from the decant oh and they had a completely different room on the work list to remove the wrong ceiling - complete disaster ombudsman won’t get involved, Florence does nothing but attend events and not help people why are the goverment not firing the whole of people that work there it’s completely corrupt they hire there family members - allow illegal builds through the planning office and re appointment themselves as head contractors I know this from a whistle blower that works inside the town hall - completely corrupt fire the lot of them nothing has changed

Terrible Council! Completely useless and outdated systems. I'm not sure where council tax is going but certainly not in to running suitable services.

Today I was issued a fixed penalty for discarding a cigarette butt, I mistakenly put it out on a black box which I now realise was not a bin, £375 fine paid £250 , I'm a veteran who served many years in the British Army injured both physically and mentally and paid peanuts, I'm diagnosed with complex PTSD combat related and day to day is a struggle with very little support from the country I served , I'm not justifying my actions I committed an offence , but some empathy please . Hang your heads in shame Lambeth Council. 1 star should be minus ..

If I could give 0 stars, I would. We have been without electricity for three days, and Lambeth Council has been completely useless. The issue wasn’t just a power outage—the cable from the meter was burning, and smoke was coming out, which is a serious hazard! Everyone in the house has been coughing non-stop because of it, yet the council still did nothing. When someone finally came—a woman who looked more like a pilot with her suitcase than an electrician—she turned off the main fuse and left, instead of fixing the dangerous issue. After that, we called the council again, only to be told “this isn’t our issue.” Lambeth Council should be ashamed of their complete disregard for people’s safety.

Avoid relying on them for anything—because when you actually need help, they’ll leave you in the dark.

Active Lambeth has the worst website and app that one can use. The app is outdated and confusing, and as the website is in at the same level. I gave 1 star but in reality it deserves a -1.
I’ve been trying to get swimming lessons for almost a month now and I’m fed up of trying so many times and not have real support from staff in the leisure centre( not that they can do much anyway) or the customer service ( where some of them are not really helpful and talk as they where talking with a pal from the pub).

A warning about using Lambeth's bulky waste collection service. I booked this service to remove a mattress I had just replaced. I followed all their instructions and paid the fee. They failed to collect and provided me with incorrect information over the course of a week culminatng in a message where the would need to 'conduct a dynamic risk assessment'. I eventually hired a private waste management company to remove the item which had been lying on the street for a week, which they did within 12 hours. Lambeth are now refusing to refund me my payment for a service they did not deliver. My advice - pay a bit more and book a professional.

i m lambeth tenant . from one week is not hot water and heating in my home, in this freezing cold weather , me and my wife asking every day lambeth council housing for over boiler is not working , now we are all family members was ill. still from last 18/1/2025 now is not fixed over house boiler . this is emergency repairs service .

I am a disabled tenant and can only get out in my wheelchair. I am on the third floor and our lift has been out of service for 1 week and is going to be out of service for further 6 weeks. I have no way of being able to get to any appointments which is for my health. My anxiety and depression and fybromayalgia are through the roof. What is there is an emergency and I cannot get out. I should not have to be a prisoner in my own home. I also have a son who has adhd and autism and this is causing him to much stress due to him knowing his mum is stuck indoors. I have contacted the local Cllrs for Vauxhall area and the local MP Florence but no one responds. Lambeth told my housing officer manager I have no right to be missing them. I have asked to be placed I. A hotel at Lambeth expense or find me a ground floor flat with walk in shower so I can have my independence back I am seriously at the end of my mental health it’s driving me insane. I will hold Lambeth liable if anything happens to me and so will my sons.

Joseph Osagie a Housing Adviser at Resident Services, London Borough of Lambeth is absolutely unprofessional in every single way. he has tantrums and anger outburst if you remind him of your human rights or housing laws and shouts at the top of his voice, veins popping “DONT TELL ME HOW TO DO MY JOB” you can almost smell his breath through the phone. unhinged behaviour. it’s worrying and concerning. He ignores all laws and legal rights acts that involve disabilities and tells mentally ill people that they’re fine and they’re not mentally or disabled despite the mentally ill and disabled person showing him their disability diagnosis and PIP ect. he is absolutely insane.

My late father worked for Southwark council for 40 years. I went to school and lived in Lewisham. I had no idea how much I took these boroughs for granted till a few months ago when i moved to Lambeth with my partner. I paid for rubbish removal which wasn't ever collected, I've paid council tax yet still get letters saying I haven't. There is trash on every corner. It's a shame cos it has so much potential

Could not agree more with the negative views on here and everywhere else. My partner and i had lived in a large owned property in Clapham, and would go so far as to say that Lambeth council is one of the main reasons we decided to move out of the area. I would list the issues experienced at the hands of these incredibly inept people, but it would take too long to list, and they have taken far to much time up over our 9 years there to bother much anymore, but just to say, that anyone thinking of moving to anywhere within Lambeth Council district, maybe do some research and seriously consider whether that would be the right move to make, and to anyone currently living within it...my sympathies!

The worst and most incompetent council in London. They are malicious. They send incorrect bills and refuse to delete them from your account. They let homeless and squatters invade their own residents blocks. Violence and crime grows with each action they take.
Horrible people.
No wonder why. Lambeth ex-boss was arrested after drink driving and possession of class A drugs while driving a council owned car. We are being robbed to fund their drug use.

There were 4 people in front of me in the queue. Two staff working and I spend a more than an hour in the queue. The elderly and disabled would have collapsed by now. Not one staff member told them to sit down so I did. Consider others the way you want others to consider you.

Appalled by Lambeth Council. I have power of attorney for my 90-year-old godmother who has been a Lambeth resident for forty years and is now in a home. I paid her council tax in full in July and heard nothing more from Lambeth until today when representatives of Equita, the debt collectors, arrived at MY flat (not in Lambeth) to demand payment. I called Lambeth and talked to a nice representative who admitted this was a 'mistake'. What a waste of taxpayers' money, what incompetence, what stupidity.

Recently registered to pay council tax as a landlord. Sent bill and tried to log in to pay today. Got pop up stating " account revoked, please call 0345 etc...". Went onto the payment website which allowed me to proceed, but didn't pay because of the earlier msg and not wanting to have money floating around in lambeth's non existent accounts system. My home Council tax so easy to pay, no drama, registering for accounts which are then revoked. Lambeth Council is appalling, always has been and always will be. Now have to go through the phone circus, listening to endless messages praising themselves when they are repeatedly warned by Government for their inept procedures.

Shocking i saw disabled guy who just left hospital appointment at kings college hospital and tried to light a cigarette that was blown ffom his hand sn extremly rude FPN man gsve him a £375 litter fine claimed that f he had recorded the guy and had a warrant card .the poor guy could barely stand the FPN guy demanded his nane date of birth etc but in the unpfofessional way the guy printed the wrong address as a lawyer i know that the ticket is null and void but the bullying of the poor disaboed guy was unacceptable and anither thing is that lambeth clsim no right if appeal agsinst the fime this us in violation of the European comvention on human rights the right to a speedy and fair trial so basically Lambrth council think they are a law unto themselves

They though my Mum 66 and her carer out of temporarily accommodation after 3 months making us homeless and were £2320.12 in credit on the rent. To add insult to injury they refused to refund what was in credit and we been sleeping in the car for the last 3 days we have no money or financial support from anyone we don’t know what to do I take my mum to work with me at night I work nights I’m really out of options and Lambeth council is the worse.
