HELOC works for me

This was our first ever equity loan. They were wonderful to work with and very helpful. Thank you to the team of people that we did work with.

The process was very smoothly carried out.Once the situation was supposedly resolved I did encounter some issues getting to someone for specific answers, but eventually they did get resolved. Thansk

The process to get a heloc was long and drawn out. The communication was awful. To get a simple heloc loan, it took well over 60 days. If my credit wouldn’t have been pulled twice by Lakeview, I would have gone else where. I thought with my current home loan being through them that it would be a lot faster and I was wrong.

The process was very easy. The customer service was professional and friendly. The application process was simple and straightforward.

My dislike was having to link bank accounts, income tax link, and IRA info. In today's world of identity theft, it really made me anxious and worried through the application process. I tried going through attaching PDF's but the process seems to be too automated and no one reviews documents. Somewhere there should be a statement that this process is safe to transmit data. I would rate this as a 2.
Once I linked all data sites for their access, the process went quick. Rate 4.
The system used to advise me of actions needed, or documents available is great! Rate 5.

I have not yet been able to find all our "signed" documents for my record keeping. All documents should be made available online after closing and funding signed by all parties involved. Rate this 1

A 5 day loan took 3 weeks. Communication was poor. Answers were impossible to obtain. Finally completed HELOC just in time to make another month of credit card payments that HELOC was to eliminate.

David Burrows was our Mortgage Loan Originator. He did an amazing job guiding us through every step of the loan process. There was never a question on what to do next or what to expect. We highly recommend him and Lakeview for all your home loan needs.

Was not a great experience whatsoever. Bradley my rep was great, but when he went on vacation, it was a nightmare of uncertainty. His backup never got back to me and even the heloc loan was almost a 3 week process with little feedback. Again Bradley was awesome! But the rest of the process was not and I hope to pay this down quick or refi with another provider.

It is difficult to separate our experience with the loan officer from the overall HELOC process, but unfortunately, both left us extremely disappointed.

Our loan officer was absolutely terrible. She initially quoted us an interest rate two percentage points lower than the actual rate and provided incorrect information about the loan products Lakeview offered. Because interest rates were rising almost daily at the time, we decided that rather than waste time complaining while rates continued to climb, we would proceed with closing and refinance as soon as conditions improved.

Unfortunately, the problems didn't end there. Our loan officer stopped responding to our communications, and eventually, her emails began bouncing back as undeliverable. We lost approximately 10 days simply because the title company needed her to forward a release to us, which she never did. Ultimately, the title company contacted us directly, and we completed the necessary paperwork that same day.

I can only assume that our loan officer is no longer employed by Lakeview. If that is the case, Lakeview should have proactively notified her clients and provided the name and contact information of their new representative. Instead, we were left wondering why no one was responding and why the process had stalled.

Between the lack of communication, unnecessary delays, and intervening weekends, I estimate that this situation cost us approximately 18 days before we could close.

We chose Lakeview because we already have our mortgage with the company and expected that an existing customer relationship would make the process easier. Instead, this experience has seriously undermined our confidence in Lakeview. As soon as interest rates decline, we may very well refinance both our mortgage and HELOC with another lender.

Perhaps our experience would have been entirely different with a more knowledgeable and responsive loan officer. However, the failure to communicate, provide continuity of service, and prevent unnecessary delays ultimately reflects on Lakeview as an organization, not just one employee.

The whole process was very easy. And the portal made it easy to stay on top of everything.
