John Martin Shoes Omdömen 

I ordered a pair of Start-Rite school shoes for my son via Amazon from this company. The listing image clearly showed a strapped style, but I was sent a laced pair instead.

When I contacted the company, I initially asked if they had the strapped version in the same size so I could arrange an exchange. Lucy responded first, apologising and confirming it was an error due to the wrong image being used. I was satisfied with this response, felt no need to reply further, and was happy to leave it at that without returning the shoes.

However, the following day I received another message from Lucy stating that they had actually sent the “correct” shoes because the product name (“Sherman”) refers to the laced version, while the strapped version is called “Warrior.” This felt unnecessary and dismissive, as it shifted the blame onto the customer for not knowing specific product names, despite the listing image being incorrect.

When I replied to explain that customers would reasonably rely on the product image and would not know to distinguish styles purely by name, Lucy remained dismissive, repeating that the correct shoes had been sent because the name matched. She then went on to blame the issue on Amazon barcode scanning.

There was a clear lack of accountability throughout the follow-up communication, as well as poor customer service. Under the Consumer Rights Act, items must match their description and images, which this did not.

Had the company left the interaction at the initial apology and taken responsibility, I would not have felt the need to leave a review. Unfortunately, the decision to follow up and shift blame onto the customer is unacceptable, and that is the reason for this review.

Ordered shoes for my grandson, my first order from JM shoes. Entire online ordering process was simple and straightforward. Very efficient prompt delivery, and reasonably priced, compared to other online companies. Item was well packed. I would not hesitate in recommending this company. I will be buying from them again in the future. It is a rarity today to get such excellent all round service.

Had been looking for these sandals for a while and found them (reduced-yay) on John Martin Shoes. I purchase a lot of clothing and shoes off the internet but hadn't heard of this particular company before so researched them and previous customers seemed very happy and I can see why. The sandals were despatched same day, free delivery and arrived 2 days later well packaged and perfect! Couldn't be happier with my new shoes and the service that comes with them. I had to wait ages for them. When they arrived the writing was nearly off on sandal on the insole and white marks under sole. I was told one pair had not been sent out as faulty, to receive these faulty ones was unacceptable. The only good thing was I was sent emails keeping me up to date. Purchased item elsewhere as now out of stock.
