JD Gyms - Liverpool Edge Lane Omdömen 

I have been a member of this gym for several years now and I have watched the gym slowly but surely decline and unfortunately it is only going to get worse. The people in the gym do not care about the state of the gym, but every time you go in on weekend or quiet times of the day there are weights everywhere and staff do not care to pick the weights up despite there being several staff in consistently. Currently there are only 3 D handles and 3 ropes in the gym and during peak hours with the amount of people who go in the gym it can really affect it as I’ve been told by staff there is nearly 10000 members signed up to this gym. The people are in the gym are very rude and there are several groups of men who make women feel very uncomfortable and even a man who talks about his sex life and moans at men and women in inappropriate ways and another old man who follows women around and acts like a creep considering he is a 50 year old man, the gym is also very very male dominated and 90% of females who have been the gym since I started have left due to feeling uncomfortable and being approached by men. There is also a bald guy who still attends regularly and he approaches girls and makes them feel uncomfortable, he wears big headphones, has a beard and tattoos and looks in his 40s and he has had complaints from multiple women but they have not banned this guy or even warned him. The toilets are the worst part as for the last few months they have been advertising for a cleaner but are unable to get one so therefore the toilets are never cleaned and the people in the gym leave the toilets a mess also with myself having seen tissue and shit on the floor on multiple occasions and then people not washing their hands, in several occasions there has been no soap and in the dispensers and they have bought carex from the range next door out of laziness. The smell of the toilets is shocking and I know from a few female friends that they are even worse and has reported that there are tampons and period pads on the floors as the bins are sometime not emptied.

As for the gym itself; when the machines are broken they take several months to fix and recently the pec dec was broken for several weeks and the t bar which is very popular and good was broken for around 4-5 months and with a gym this busy it is unacceptable, the cables are often damaged and due to lack of ropes and equipment on them it makes doing some workouts and exercises impossible, the benches are also somewhat unsteady and the area itself is just a mess. I have cancelled my membership and moved to xf as it is a gym which values its customers and I would advise anyone considering this gym not to even bother as it is too busy and not worth the money unless you want to be frustrated with the dirty gym or to be perved at by weird old men if you are a woman, it is sad for me to be writing this about a once decent gym.

Clean, spacious, and never overcrowded. The trainers actually pay attention to your form. Highly recommended!I have joined two weeks ago.

Do you really clean the changing area(male) its too dirty and foul smelly... Its not only one day... Keep your cleaning standards good...
Pls look at the sealing area in male changing room... Extremely dusty.. Very poor...

I’m very excited, and the place is amazing. All the equipment is really useful and great.

The fitness environment is motivating, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the facilities are excellent and well-maintained.

There needs to be more free weights, more space for people to workout as its very much clogged up with machines. And there needs to be more exercise mats and bands. The parking situation is also unclear on arrival

The gym is well equipped with all machines. I noticed a pin missing on one which meant weight couldn’t be set.
Smaller free hand weights are few in number and the place is quite dark overall. Would be much better with a light and airy feel. Can’t control the water temperature on shower which is a shame.

JD Gym Edge Lane is a spacious gym with a wide range of machines, making it easy to get a full workout. However, some equipments are limited, which can cause short waits during busy times.

I do fasted cardio in the early mornings and I’m unable to reuse my code again and have to call for assistance.

It’s not uncommon to have to wait up to 10mins for a member of staff to buzz me in as they are not always at the desk given their cleaning duties.

It’s really frustrating as a paying member

Overall, a great gym for what you pay. I have started going before work because it's quieter
There are signs and announcements re: opening/closing times and stressing gym etiquette.
I really wish some members would stop reserving lockers! Again, the gym states that lockers are to be used whilst there only.
It's hard for staff to keep on top of cleaning etc when there's members leaving empty bottles, weights etc around.
If you want a value for money, easily accessible gym with 3 hours free parking (The Range car park), with a shower and toilet accessible outside staffed hours, this is it 👍😊

Had a break and came back as its easy to get to.
Still the same, full of people who dont know what a wash and deodorant are, reeks of BO, mentioned it to one of the staff about maybe putting up a notice explaining that its not nice smelling other peoples body stench, doesn't help that they never open the windows either!

Just rejoined after a while . Don’t think I’ll be extending after the month.changing rooms scruffy no lock in shower door vending machines not working hardly any visible staff . People just hanging around machines in groups not actually using them. Generally overall not the nicest of atmospheres in there

Access to a vast range of machines for a very comprehensive workout routine.

There is plenty of equipment, but the changing room facilities have really gone to ruin. There's a drainage smell and doors missing off lockers. Needs some attention

Theres an older gent in there that is always approaching women and acting very off in there - seen a couple of women have to film him to get him away from them. Hes around his 50s, wears glasses and tracksuits and is balding/very short haired grey mid build

this has been brought up to the staff in there with the particular male in question pointed out and nothing has been done as the male is still going the gym and approaching females and/or wandering around staring at them. constantly will try and start conversations and then follows females around that have taken time to mistakenly talk to him

really off putting and concerning that nothings been done especially when the behaviour in question was pointed out to staff there and then!

I have only been twice to the edge lane gym. liverpool so far. during the day . so far i’d say my experience has been a bit lukewarm to be
honest. couldn’t see any staff to ask about any classes. changing rooms looked a bit outdated and to be honest needed a good clean and a paint, lockers need a good clean with something as well. but i got to do some walking on the machines which is what i came to do. the gym itself felt a bit cold. too much air con on a 3degree cold day outside. funny though watching the majority of those there scrolling on their phones instead of working out. couldn't see where the sauna was or the changing area etc so far puregym is looking more inviting

Joined recently for my Winter arc 💪, loads of great equipment and very clean. Staff are lovely and helped a lot
