I like the ease of entering and leaving…
I like the ease of entering and leaving whenever. It can sometimes be far too crowded with plates scattered all over the place. The showers often have a nasty smell as well.

Overcrowded
Good equipment compared to other budget gyms but it’s way too busy. Hardly get a work out in during peak hours.

Hmmm….Looks cool from outside
Looks cool from outside. However, very busy, and free weights are complete mess and doesn’t seem to be many of common weights, so far in two trips I haven’t found any 26kg dumbbells and only one 28kg

I’m not one for loving a spin class but…
I’m not one for loving a spin class but I’ve been pushing myself to go and I’m happy each time that I did. Stephen from day one was supportive and understanding that everyone works at their own level. The tunes are class, I feel challenged and I guess his patter isn’t too bad either!

In general
In general, it was okay but the cleanness in the changing room is not great.
WC is not looking great.
The gym facilities are fine.
To laude music, unfortunately. I’m not a person that wants to listen to this type of music. I prefer a more peaceful place.
Not too many classes in the evening time.
In addition, Sauna is turned off at the random time. No specific hours when it’s working! Some improvements need it.

It’s a really nice gym, the equipment is more than enough if you avoid peak times, clean and modern environment, easy joining process, and the sauna is awesome!

5* spin with Stephen…
Just joined and my first class was a spin class with Stephen.
As soon as I entered the studio he welcomed me. He helped set up my bike and explained how it all worked.
The class was excellent. It was hard but great with a great playlist.
I would recommend Stephen's class to anyone thinking about spin for the first time or experienced spinners.
Saw him the next day in the gym and he took time to come over for a chat. That kind of thing makes a huge difference.
Will definitely be back to his classes.

Joining welcome email requested I contact the gym for a PIN to access. I prefer this as I don’t like taking my phone in case it is damaged with so many weights and equipment inside. I was replied to informing I should take my phone. Defeats the purpose of being asked to contact the gym for a PIN access.

We do have QR code access at our gyms so our members can access contact free, however if you do have any problems accessing the app, please feel free to speak to the General Manager at the Glasgow South gym the next time you visit and they can help with your access going forward or drop your gym an email if you can’t see a manager to speak to 👍

Stephen’s spin class
I mainly train elsewhere but when I do stop by I never have an issue accessing kit and I try to attend Stephen’s spin classes which are great. Banging tunes, not cheesy and straight to the point hard graft session- would recommend!!
