We have been with James Hallam Insurance for around 10–11 years now, and throughout that time the service we have received has been absolutely second to none.

From the very beginning, they took the time to visit our premises and genuinely understand our business and exactly what we needed. We are not necessarily a straightforward, “run-of-the-mill” business when it comes to insurance requirements, but they made sure they fully understood how we operate and put the right cover in place for us.

Our Account Manager, Jane Lloyd-Wood, has been exceptional. Everything is always explained clearly and in plain English, and whenever I have a question or need advice, Jane is incredibly responsive and is usually back to me almost immediately.

Over the years, Jane has genuinely become our guardian angel when it comes to insurance. There is enormous reassurance in knowing that we have someone who understands our business so well and makes sure we have the cover we need.

James Hallam was the insurance broker recommended by Sailing Holidays Ltd for travel insurance. We booked our insurance a couple of months in advance and checked that the policy documents were available, but didn't print or download them at the time. When we checked back the day before departure the documents were not on the customer portal. They had taken £180 from our credit card though.

While we were on holiday we tried to call multiple times - they never answer the phone and never respond to voice messages. In the end the voice mailbox was full. We contacted them via email which they responded to after 2 days saying that our policy didn't exist. So we were not insured for the duration of our holiday.

They have not responded to any subsequent emails. We are seeking a chargeback via Section 75 claim from our credit card company.

Poor customer service again after previous issues of polices issued for a few years then advised I wasn't actually eligible for and withdrawing it, then years later offering it again but not following up on changes or questions, particularly confirming I was now eligible for it.

I've always found the team at James Hallam to be a pleasure to deal with and very helpful with making sure the policy is the right fit for our needs and that I properly understand what I am signing up for.

Katherine Harvey worked on my case, I was distressed after the damage of my photographic equipment through an accident while it was in use, Katherine reassured me and guided me through the process of my claim, she showed me different options and made me feel like a valued customer, her efforts made a stressful time much easier to get through and her hard work made sure I was able to work again with replaced equipment in the shortest time possible under the circumstances.

Jane has provided myself and our scaffold business with not only competitive prices but guidance and support throughout. Jane is so easy to talk to and is always happy to help.

The service Jane provides is exceptional and she is a real asset to your company. We could not ask for anymore.

I have dealt with Jane Lloyd Wood for 12 plus years, Nothing is too much bother, She always goes the extra mile to make sure everything in my policy is correct, and the best renewal price possible. Ever since James Hallam took over Ryan insurance its been an absolute shambles. James Hallam staff are the most unprofessional bunch of amateurs I've ever come across. They do not provide a professional service. Staff can't find the right documents. Staff can't even ask the right questions. My landlord insurance costs have doubled under James Hallam and the service is dreadful.
This is the last year I will ever use James Hallam.
