Re-activated my account without authorisation
Due to a change in circumstances, I contacted ISPE via email, and one of the staff disabled the auto-renew of my Plus membership on 23/01/23 so that I could investigate lesser membership options. My membership was then re-enabled late on 30/01/23 and apparently "set to revert to a Standard membership from 05/02/2023" by a different IPSE staff member. However the money came out of my card first thing on 31/01/23. I had not authorised this so I telephoned to request a refund, and am still waiting.

A refund has been processed and you should see the funds returned to your account shortly, sorry if this was not clear from the telephone conversation you had with us yesterday. You should have also received a credit note confirmation by email yesterday when the refund was processed. If you haven’t received this confirmation please contact membership@ipse.co.uk and we can arrange for another copy to be sent out to you.

Emailed to cancel renewal on the…
Emailed to cancel renewal on the renewal date, but they had taken payment a week earlier. Still haven’t had a reply.
Turns out i had responded to an unmonitored email, Richard responded and sorted it out. Had been a member for several years and enjoyed the benefits. However the ongoing IR35 changes to the freelance market meant that i’ve now taken up permanent employment; and no longer require membership

Not sure it was value for money
I don’t think my subscription was wholly worth the money. There were a few times I asked IPSE for advice and got no response. The are other companies I’ve used such as Abbey Tax who have been far more helpful and cheaper over the long run.
