DHM Hotels/Driftwood Capital still offering rooms at a hotel to be demolished
Let me start by stating this hotel is now owned by DHM Hotels/Driftwood Capital. Turning this into a 4 star Westin resort.
I took a 5 day trip to Cocoa Beach last month where I stayed at the International Palms Resort. As I look up who to contact to make a complaint, I find the reason that the manager at the resort just did not care to hear what I had to say and completely dismissed my comments by saying “thank you for your feedback”. I read that they are going to demolish this resort, it needs to be!!!
BUT, because you have not demolished this hotel and you ARE the current owners of said hotel, I find myself compelled to let you know just how absolutely awful this hotel is and that it should be demolished. Why you are still open befuddles me. You are a decent company and this hotel does not meet your standards. Why are you even allowing it to stay open?!? This hotel is a cesspool. Your website is SO misleading! I have stayed at nicer, MUCH nicer, discount/bottom line cheap hotel than this so called resort.
I booked two nonrefundable rooms, one for four nights and one for one night. I am so embarrassed that I asked my friend to come and stay in this horrific room for even one night. Myself, if it were not I had booked nonrefundable and could afford to find another hotel on such a busy weekend and move me and my deafblind son, I would have been gone!!!
The shame of it is, it was a recommended hotel from USA Triathlon.
This was by far the most horrible hotel I have ever stayed in. Let me list just a few things:
My room was not clean – I had to go and purchase cleaning supplies in order to even feel comfortable
My non smoking room smelt like smoke and weed
There were bugs in my room
I found dog treats behind the microwave
I paid a hotel resort fee for pool towels in which I tried to get my hands on some two different occasions and there were none
My tub did not drain – pulled the stopper to find filled with hair
The outside of the hotel is so run down
The Parking blocks are all disintegrated and showing the inner rebar which is such a hazard not to mention the missing fire extinguishers
GARBAGE EVERYWHERE
The hotel allowed the airshow guest to park in there parking lot and when I returned from my event, I could not find a parking spot
We were unable to use the beach in front of the hotel without paying a fee and were forced to walk to the other side of the event where all of the public was crowded together on the Palms Resort area
There were people from the outside NOT staying at the hotel using the pool on Saturday. They were saying on the on beach that the doors were open and there was a bar. Just go right up.
The hot tub, UGH – would not even breathe the air around it was so nasty
The bags of garbage that sat outside my room daily for hours in the heat
The missing fire extinguisher and the very small fire extinguisher
The exposed wires in my room
I plugged in my curling iron to an outlet in the bathroom and it shut off the bathroom light
The ice machine or lack of and the grossness surrounding it
Oh, then there was the constant pounding of some machinery in the parking lot that made it oh so enjoyable
The ONLY good thing was that the gentleman that checked me into the hotel was very nice and hospitable.
I have contacted them on several occasions and nobody has returned my call or emails.
