Second pair — still excellent, and built to last This is my second pair of this model. I sized down a full size this time, as my last pair were a bit too big on reflection. I use them for Scottish hillwalking, including winter Munros — I'm on my third round of the Munros at 75. My last pair lasted two years, where most footwear like this lasts only one. They still have life left, but the cleats are now quite worn and there's early wear in the uppers where the foot bends and where the heel contacts. Compared to any similar footwear I've used, that's very good. Comfort, light weight, and fantastic grip on wet rock and mud are all excellent. The grip is an important safety feature at my age, as falls are more risky and less welcome than for a younger person. They're expensive, but easily worth it for the durability, grip, comfort, and waterproofing. The waterproofing lasts about a year — longer than any other walking shoes I've used. In a world where quality seems elusive, it's heartening to find a company that still delivers. Don't change a thing — though half sizes would be good to have on your website. Pros • Excellent grip on wet rock and mud • Durable — two years of hard use, versus one for most similar footwear • Lightweight and comfortable • Waterproofing outlasts other walking shoes • Worth the price for the performance Cons • Expensive • Waterproofing lasts about a year before needing replacement • No half sizes available on the website
