Great shoe. I would like some more stifness in the heel and side of the shoe.

Absolutely love these shoes. They were a bit stiff to start with but stick with them, after about 20kms they were perfect, I have now done over 150kms in them and they just keep getting better. I have had zero issues or rubbing with the low heel ( I don’t even think the heel is low like everyone mentions). It took a while to get the lockdown right and they seem to let water into the toe box rather easily, however these are minor issues and shouldn’t put you off these amazing trail shoes, super grippy and super comfy 👍🏼

Plush ride, good width, structured build. First experience with INOV8 (Tommy from "That's Runnable" and Jasmin Paris Barkley finish were the final motivation to give them a try). Excellent shoe, love the wide fit, especially over dry rocky terrain and excellent underfoot when you are faced with a long hammering downhill. I find them slightly warm, but to be fair I'm training in tropical Northern Australia, so many shoes are! So impressed I've ordered the (not max) TrailFly. Keep up the good work team!

As an upgrade to the Trailfly 300g max the new Trailfly max disappointed. While the new outsole does offer improved grip on wet rock the modifications to the upper let the shoe down. The general increase in padding and some subtle changes to the heel result in poor lockdown and an uncomfortable ride.

I had to get the wide because the regular didn't fit my foot. However, once I swapped, the shoe is perfect. One of the best running shoes I've owned in a long time.

Nice shoe but theres some weirdness in the upper fit. Think the bottom/middle of the heel needs to be wider and the top of the heel needs to come in more

I'm a little concerned with comfort. I ran 20+ last weekend and had some forefoot and heal discomfort. I seldom felt that with the two pairs of Trailfly 270s that I had prior to this pair which has more cushioning. I guess the test will be the 50K on Sat, but it's certainly concerning.

40 years old, never had a shoe be the direct cause for an injury before. I ordered both normal width and Wide. They have the exact same insoles, so the difference must be some extra upper material on the Wide. Sadly, the TrailFly Max Wide is more narrow in the toebox than a standard width Topo. Not very anatomical (or "wide") at all. Nearly missed a 50km race until I realized that it was wearing the TrailFly Maxs that was causing severe pain in my left foot along the lateral edge near the little toe. The foam feels great, and they seem well built, but it's the only shoe that's ever hurt me. Even "regular" shaped shoes like Asics and New Balance and Saucony have never done any harm to my feet. I don't know what Inov8 has done with the TrailFly Max, but as much as I wanted to love them, I can't buy from the company again unless they actually introduce a toebox that accommodates wider feet (if I can fit into Saucony and Asics, my feet can't be that crazy in size...). Also, the toe box is very low, never had my toes rub on the top so much before. And the tongue padding isn't great...

Almost 5 stars. Minus is the midsole (for me) - it is too thick so my feet feels to shoal in the shoes. I solve this with boomerang midsole that I can buy saperately, therefore it adds some expenses to the shoes in overall. But without this small issue shoes looks and feals great.

Trainer is very good...grippy..enough room in toe box..i have 2 issues...that bother me but wouldnt necessarily effect other buyers.. 1) left shoe feels like my heal is lose or not deep enough into it for sufficuent grio...right shoe is ok! I had same issue with Altra Olympus 5...solution was runners loop...bringing me on to issue 2) not enough padding in tongue...feels like my foot is beung strangled by laces...when using runners loop.... Now im not jumping to concludtion as i may be doing something wrong...that said...i ran in shoe fridsy and had zero issues other than tight laces...which msy gave been an issue if run was over 3 miles

Excellent - used in 55km Mountain Ultra -superb grip on rocky scrambles and very comfortable to run in!

Great shoe, comfort as a priority with excellent grip from G-grip sole. Lock down reflects the ultra distance design so may pose problems traversing steep slopes in mountain terrain. In other respects, I would be happy to use on mountain routes although the cushioned sole can be mildly unstable compared to more hardcore alternatives.No problem on trails in East Midlands rural country. Shoe appears well put together with resilient upper and excellent sole. Proof of the pudding will be in the eating of course so here's hoping. I have experienced some problems in this respect on Innov8s in the past but all good currently. Would I buy again..... definitely. I still have a pair of 10 year old Mudclaws so I'm hoping these will last just as well! Longevity then is my key question mark!!

This is a great update to a great shoe. I always felt the original TrailFly was a little hard in terms of impact and ride quality, compared to my Speedgoats, or the more lush but deeper lugged TrailTalon. I've only had these a few weeks and notched up 110km in them on the Cornish coastal path, and will be running the UTMB UTS in Snowdonia this weekend in them. They are super comfortable, with great energy return and fantastic grip on these rocky trails, and I really like them - I would like to see some better colour ways though! Looking forward to the TrailTalon Max.

Great shoe, plenty of room in the toe box and fits well. Only criticism would be the heal cup is quite shallow which makes it feel a bit unstable and my heal slides over the sole a bit.

The new Inov8 foot shaped fit is great. I have recently found that I have a problem with the nerves in my feet and need a wide shoe to let my toes move naturally. These are a little wider in the forefoot than Altra’s original fit. I bought these and the roadfly max at the same time, which are basically the same shoe but a little lighter. Both are better made and more comfortable than my Altra FWD Via, and the soles are wearing better (so far). The fit is great for me, plenty of room for toes, and very stable in the mid foot and heel.
