BUYER BEWARE!!
1)All orders are renewed ive read 3 mos, 6 mos,etc. Even, If as i did, you order at higher price one time kit to check it out DON'T !!! all orders are renewable subscriptions & you wont find out until you're billed again!
2) When you call customer service (next morning as i did, as soon as i saw i was billed) to explain error they said my next shipment was in warehouse & couldnt be stopped & they wouldn't refund me. Basically they are unmovable, i said i'd send the kit back in unopened packaging... sorry it's a subscription... even just one month. WHY in the heck would one ever choose the higher price kit for 1 month if they were subscribing & could getit cheaper??? Shady business practice!!
They then had gaul to send me an auto generated email: how did we do? Dont waste time answering. It seemed like they care with response how can we make it better? NOPE answer sorry it was a subscription... we have you're money & are keeping it!
3) The kit// definitely cute idea "crystal ball" but not for even smarter young kids / multiple multiple steps / unexplained how to break down for young kids ... yes i'm intelligent & figured it out, but marketed for different age groups as a childs kit & expensive for CHEAP ingredients, i expected intelligent child appropriate break down suggestions.
Again cheap unexceptable ingredients: The chocolate would not melt / clumped i bought my own, white was worst (like kinda melty chunks at best). You add additional ingredients to cake mix (no biggie if this was only issue) you need to buy whipping cream (expensive). Im thinking i spent close to $15-20 more on white, dark choc & cake ingredients, & heavy cream.
4) All in all, fun idea for my grand daughter, as i pre prepared much & bought the unusuable new ingredients... but unethical company & not worth it! You can figure fun ideas out yourself if you need to do this much work to make it fun yourself! They are not a kid appropriate learning company, They market that way BUT kit does NOT measure up to AGE APPROPRIATE learning or instructions!
5) i was willing to pay the larger price to see if i wanted to subscribe & be out almost $45 , but that deceptive, sly, shady second shipment is definitely an unethical business practice! And their customer serve has no ethical moral character.
6) Remember EVERYTHING is a renewable subscription!

I have been burned so many times by companies that renew a subscription without enough warning that they are shipping. When I place an order with a company like this, I place a three month order or the smallest amount of time possible. I work very hard to not have a subscription! I truly believed I did not sign up for a subscription, but a three month trial. What a scam. This product is not easy to do with children, and the resulting products are full of sugar. Skip this item and buy sugar cookie dough with sprinkles!

Low quality and taste terrible. Tried to get a refund and they said no.
First, the desserts simply do not taste good. My children are not picky eaters, but they won’t even eat what we’ve made. It’s frustrating to spend money on a kit that’s supposed to be a fun and enjoyable experience for kids, only to end up with desserts nobody wants to eat.

I’m also disappointed that we have to purchase additional ingredients ourselves. For the cost of the subscription, I expected a more complete kit.

This is a scam. I signed up for six months only. Why did they just bill me $215 for another six months?! I called them and they say they warned me three times in check out it’s a subscription. However, I agreed to pay a subscription for 6 months. Nothing more. I was very careful when I checked out. They did we sent you an email a week an ago saying it was going to auto renew… I didn’t see the email. I saw the notice from Shop that my box was on its way. I immediately cancelled. They refused to give me all of my money back. They offered 50% back with 6 months ox boxes. Note - I still have 3 I haven’t used! Plus it does not include all of the ingredients. The other option was to get all of my money back on a gift card - for them!!! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. It’s a scam!!!

I would rate this company a 0 if possible. This product is not as advertised. The first box didn’t come with enough supplies to make the cookies and the edible marker it came with didn’t work. I immediately contacted the company to cancel the subscription- on the website it advertises a full refund for dissatisfaction. I did not receive a refund, nor a response from the company and instead was sent a second box which was even worse quality than the first. Almost all products had to be bought separately, the wafers that were supplied were of such poor quality they didn’t melt and lastly, the craft activity it came with was so confusing, I couldn’t even figure it out (and I’m a teacher), never-mind my 4 and 7 year old. I have tried to reach out to the company 3 times via email and finally called today to which the manager told me they only received one email and that even canceling now will only result in a refund of 3 boxes (not the 6 that I paid for).

I am fine paying for the first box, I took a chance, but I canceled my subscription and emailed the company immediately after and was still sent a 2nd box. I contacted them again with no response and received an email I would be receiving a 3rd box this week. I finally called, was put on hold for 10 minutes in order to speak to the manager who told me she only received one email and although it says satisfaction is guaranteed on the website, I would only receive a refund for the boxes that haven't shipped. Poor quality, poor customer service.

The kits aren’t consistent with their AI generated ads. I also didn’t get the same products as what was shown on their instagram.

I should have known. Don’t get products that use AI as their main ad/marketing

We have made 2 of the kits. The gummy sharks for the tarts arrived as a huge blue and white blob. The chocolate for the bear pie was melted into a ball instead of individual discs. It seized when I tried to melt the chocolate and you need 4 discs doe the ears.
Very disappointing.

Ingredients are terrible and boxes are overpriced. They have some shady billing practices too. And sometimes, packages can’t be tracked (but you’ll always be billed for them!).

My husband started borrowing baking and cooking books at the library for our children and that has been a far better experience.

first time I ordered. I received a thumbprint cookies. It was horrible! The dough was so sticky and thick. We had to throw it away because it was so sticky. My granddaughter was so disappointed, 10 years old, we had to go to the store and buy cookie dough and then the fondant was supposed to cover 10 cookies and it only barely covered four. Do not buy from them. I contacted them by email and I left a voicemail and it’s been four days and I have no response they are a ripoff company. They are scammers. Do not buy from them.

Disappointed. Thought it was a cool concept. I bought the 3 month pkg but it was too advanced for our little. Couldn’t hold interest.
But be very careful the system doesn’t have auto renew checked… even if you think you have unselected it. They will not fix their error, even though I contacted them right away. Now I’m stuck with three more packages.

I got this subscription for my grandson's 9th birthday, and it's been the best present for BOTH of us...and his little brother! I wish I could add the picture of his finished product--he looks so PROUD!!!🤩 Every time he gets his box, he makes a cooking video to send ME—BEST GIFT EVER for this Grandma!🥰

I read the other reviews and haven't really experienced the same issues. I ordered a 3-month subscription in February and was notified each time it shipped. There is an auto-renewal, which I wasn't aware of---so I got charged another 3-month subscription, but that's on me--I should have remembered to cancel my membership.

One thing I do like is that you can skip a month...if you find the next month's kit isn't a good fit, it's super easy to skip a month in your account.

Also, customer service for me has been prompt and helpful!

Overall, I definitely recommend this kit at least once (or twice if you forget to cancel, lol)--it's been a great connection with my grandsons!

They're entertaining but not cheap. Also, they say the ingredients are all included and that's NOT EVEN TRUE.

I can't believe more people haven't complained about this company. First, the ingredients are horrible for children: sugary, mostly toxic-dye laden ingredients...in fact, I'm not even sure WHAT the ingredients are since nothing has labels. But it's clear, that is just absolute crap. Second, it's SO HARD to cancel these subscriptions. Third, they don't send tracking details about the shipments. And when they arrived in a tightly wrapped package from GOFO, the Chinese last-mile-delivery company, I think I know why they're not giving you the tracking info...because it's coming straight from China.

Great boxes for your kids to use their creativity and be able to bake on their own!

We absolutely loved our experience with I'm The Chef Too! The kit was incredibly convenient—everything we needed was included right in the box, which made it so easy to get started without having to shop for ingredients or supplies.

My kids of different ages all had a great time and were engaged from start to finish. It was a fun activity that brought everyone together and created some really special family bonding time. One of my favorite things was that it gave us the opportunity to tackle a baking project I probably wouldn't have attempted on my own because all of the planning and prep work had already been done for us.

I highly recommend I'm The Chef Too as an experience gift for birthdays, holidays, or any special occasion. It's also perfect just for a fun family activity at home. The combination of hands-on learning, creativity, and delicious results made it a huge hit in our house! We'll definitely be ordering another kit.

Ordered my 12 month subscription on May 4th. Paid IN FULL for a 12 month subscrition for my grandson. My order wasn't attempted to be filled until May 27th. At that time the kit I ordered was out of stock. Cannot get a replacement kit for several days and my options were limited. Very poor customer servec - although the rep was wonderful, she did not have the tools for successful transctions. I do not recommend this company

The order page says orders placed on or after the 1st will be processed in the following month's shipment. We placed our order on 5/23 and should have been getting the June box but got the May box instead. Wrote email to customer services and called and they said there is nothing they can do. Basically I need to place another order if want the June box.

Incredibly complex. My 4 year old was NOT the chef too, as a matter of fact I at 32 years old struggled with these recipes. Nothing came out the way it was supposed to, I’m extremely disappointed. Not to mention shipping is a nightmare, no delivery notification so if they don’t drop it at your front door you’ll never find it and your ingredients will bake in the sun for days until you stumble across it. All around bad experience.
