The program is solely utilitarian, often difficult to work with
The program often freezes, tech support rarely offers a helpful solution, it takes a long time to load and if you try to click something before the page has fully loaded you'll likely have to log out and log back in. The system works and does what we need it to but if I had time to search for a different, better attendance tracker, I would in a heartbeat.
Fast and easy to learn.
Easy to use but lacks key feature...
While like the platform's ease of use and the ability for prospective applicants to use it, there's a critical piece missing: the ability to make notes regarding a particular applicant. It would be very helpful to be able to add notes for future reference such as "no show at interview", etc. This key feature would eliminate having to keep any manual records for our applications.

App is not working properly, no return phone call from ticket.
Upgrade was a downgrade
We started to use the attendance smart app in 2017 which worked fairly well. Now it hardly ever works. It was upgraded in November of 2019 and has hardly worked since. The changes that were made are absolutely awful. When I pull up a attendance record I cannot see anything on the calendar it is now on a separate sheet. Not an enhancement at all.

We spent hours upon hours setting up this controller to only be completely dissatisfied with the product. We did not use the online attendance calendar to prior to the upgrade so I can not compare. But, this I know:
- Email addresses should be an option only, when setting up employees, not often that restaurant dishwasher or cleaning porter would use email to communicate with managers
- Email addresses should be re-used when the employee is removed from record: we use our own emails during the testing since it was a requirement to import from excel, the same email can’t be used again in our live data
- Employee’s phone number & start day are more important than birthday on work records hope that can be a quick top view on Employee’s profile
- Color code reasons could be a good feature, but it won’t show on the calendar, they all look the same color, doesn’t matter it’s illness or vacation
- No date range on “add event” – for employees go on two week vacation, we have to “add event” 14 times; we have someone in family leave for a month, looks like we have to “add event” 30 times in order to put this in record
- “Search” function on Attendance Controller should allow more options such as “search by department” but not just name
- Departments should be set up as a code not an entry for each employee
- The month should be downloaded also, not just the year
- This “App” is not user friendly on a mobile device as this is not a mobile app. If there is an mobile app this would be greatly useful for our managers and chefs – they don’t have the luxury to always sitting on desk.
This is such a poor design, its hard to believe the engineers allowed this to go live.
New version is cumbersome and unreliable

Before their recent horrific upgrade, I would've given at least 4 stars. The attendance app used to be wonderful, very user friendly and efficient when doing payroll and daily staff attendance. Now, it is a complete nightmare! I have never seen an upgrade completely destroy something that wasn't broke to begin with! It no longer indicates the employees hire date, which is crucial to know. You now have to click into 3 different screens in order to read the note you left on a particular absence (before you could just scroll over the date and it would automatically come up). You can't see how many PTO days an employee has UNTIL you go into the monthly view. PTO days are now listed as PTO hours. My list goes on and on. The genius who is responsible for this upgrade obviously doesn't use this app. Unless this goes back to the way it was before, I will be finding a different software company.

Cumbersome, would be nice to be able to post extended times for vacation.
I regret not going back to the manual card system which was excellent and easy to use.
Basic but ok when it works.
I don't believe the program was actually written from an HR point of view - the update with colors is useless if you can only view a month at a time - and have to download the calendar to see all of the absences with codes in one place.
But the greatest issue is that lately it is a less than 50/50 chance that it will actually load and show you your employees at all! Needs some serious attention. We are actually moving BACK to paper since it has become so unreliable.

Don't like update. Program is slow. Customer service not reliable. Asked several times for a phone call but like to only do business via email. Not helpful.
very useful for hiring and managing my employees
I started with employee records, which was free and I liked it so much that i decided to try another app. I then bought job applications app, and I love it! Saves me time and effort. They also have applicant tracking that works with this app, so I probably am going to buy that one as well. Good product and can't beat that price!
AWFUL
AWFUL. The app is incredibly slow and freezes almost every time I use it, which is daily. I rely on this to properly document vacation time, sick time, tardiness, absences, etc. The app has never been great, but the since the new upgrade a few weeks ago, it has become horrendous. To make it worse, I have tried speaking with customer service several times about these issues over the past year, and just earlier today since the new update, and no one cared or could be bothered to provide any real help. I would never recommend this app to anyone the way that it is currently functioning. I paid upfront for a year and so I am stuck with it until the end of 2020, but I would go a different route if you haven't committed to this app yet!

I use Google Chrome as my browser of choice and HRdirect Apps takes forever to load. And there are features that should be a given that are not available, such as copying an absence event over a range of dates. Instead, you need to input on each date the same info.
I renewed the Attendance App for 2020…
I renewed the Attendance App for 2020 recently, not knowing that a few weeks ago the App would undergo upgrading.
The upgrading is a disaster! It has drastically slowed down my payroll process.
Some of the upgrade errors include deleting the hire dates that took me hours to put in when I first purchased the app.
For a payroll clerk it is imperative to have that info handy while processing a payroll.
Also, they removed the absentee codes that were put in under the yearly view, thus, causing a user to have to flip thru months of screens under the month view to count days taken.
The hours tracker on the left of the app, only tracks hours used per month, it does not keep a running total of each month per year, which is useless.
Very disappointed and frustrated at the new changes.

the product can be very useful, however slow when opening, when entering code if using more days you must enter code on each date. would like to see it update multi days at once. would like to see the total pto taken period (future pto totals should be calculated to give total). Would like to see who will be off on future dates. Now it only list who is scheduled off for the current date. Right now I am giving you a one since I can no longer see my information after Mondays update. I have sent messages twice and no results as of today. When you do an update on a Monday during the day it truly causes issues. I have not been able to complete my payroll for the week due to this issue. I had to guess at what PTO was available since that information no longer is visible. Will I need to start over and refigure by hand my PTO? I hope not since we are paying you for a service, which at this time we cannot use. The only communication I have had with this issue is by email, having someone reach out by phone would be a much better option in my opinion so your clients know you care.
