Migrated about a year ago, and never looked back.
About a year ago, I migrated three websites to Hosting Roo, after our existing Scottish provider had become too busy to respond promptly to maintenance requests, with some dating back several years.
The sites each presented individual challenges in the migration, with two being in legacy code that might have necessitated recoding, and one already in WordPress.
Two of the sites have e-commerce gateways, while all three were showing their age, with updates becoming harder to effectuate and taking longer and longer. All three sites also have email, with one in the hundreds of thousands, and so we decided to choose a separate package for each site, notwithstanding the discounts Hosting Roo offered for a combi-package deal.
The resultant cost is now less than ⅓ of what we had been paying previously, and yet the experience has exponentially improved:
1. All sites ported successfully with no loss of functionality and legacy bugs were fixed by Hosting Roo as a part of the process.
2. Online on the Hosting Roo gateway, we can now edit our own client details, including package choice and payment method.
3. Repairs and maintenance requests are reasonable in price, sometimes free, and carried out in a matter of a few days, sometimes within hours, or even live in real time.
4. Even allowing for the Time Zone difference between Australia and the United Kingdom, Customer Service is sometimes practically instantaneous, with chat-based accessibility by email and WhatsApp.
To anyone considering a change, I can only speak in the highest terms of this "new kid on the block", Hosting Roo. They're friendly, super-competent, fast and affordable, and I would be happy to speak further on their behalf.
