Liebherr Peak Wine Fridge, Freezer and Fridge

I have recently purchased the Liebherr Peak XRCst5295 Wine, Freezer and Fridge units. They look fantastic and are very quiet. Lots of modes to set (party, holiday etc). I have had an issue with one unit but Charlotte (Customer Service Team Leader) has been excellent, delivering the true meaning of customer service. I was also particularly impressed by Lionel V, both a credit to the company. I still have an on-going issue which I am confident will be resolved and I am very happy to have the peace of mind of a confirmed 10 year warranty on both appliances. Thank you Charlotte and Lionel for your exceptional customer service. It has been greatly appreciated and I hope Liebherr value you both.

Our second long life F/Freezer

We purchased our first Liebherr fridge/freezer some twenty years ago. It broke down a few months ago. We were so pleased with our first one, that we purchased another fridge/freezer and we are sure that it will be as good as our first one. we can highly recommend Liebherr's products.

Terrible product & even worse aftersales & customer service

After just 6 months of purchasing my Leibherr fridge freezer & wine cooler for almost £5000 the ice maker stopped working & could not be repaired.
More recently now that the product is out of warranty I have spent £100’s with sub standard “Leibherr approved” repairers only to be told the unit cannot be repaired or replaced.
The sub standard Leibherr repairers are totally inept & have no experience with the product which is followed up by a very unhelpful customer service department who although have suggested you pay over priced call out charges then start demanding you go get all the reports from each call out when they could quite easily do their job properly & collate this information themselves.

This has left me with a £5000 unit that is no longer fit for purpose that I’ve spent another £1000 on repairs & a lot of wasted time

My advise would be to stay well away from the overpriced Leibherr products & the terrible aftersales & customer service & buy a much more reliable product such as Meille Smeg or Bosh

Generally happy with this…

Generally happy with this fridge/freezer. Although larger than my old Bosch unit, this Liebherr actually uses less electricity. I've also noticed that fruit and vegetables stored in the drawer compartment in the fridge are keeping fresh for longer.
The downsides. The door magnets are very strong, requiring quite a wrench to pull them open, I'd suggest it needs lever type handles to release the doors away from the seals/magnets.
The activated carbon filter inside the fridge is recommended to be replaced every 6 months. Check out the price of these before buying this make fitted with these filters. The lowest price I could find for original parts was £21 each, that's £42/year. This negates any running cost savings.
Salesperson I spoke to said these could be washed out rather than replaced.... wrong, they can't.
Otherwise all fine.

No customer care. Poor product

I bought a separate stand alone fridge and freezer from Liebherr. After 6 month the freezer began loosing temperature, setting off the alarm at all hours and generally not working properly. Since then I have had 5 engineer visits and countless hours on the phone with both Liebherr customer service who so far have refused to escalate my issue to a manager, or solved the problem and their engineering contractor who constantly blame Liebherr.

For a freezer which cost £1200 the customer service is pathetic.

I would recommend anyone thinking of buying a Liebherr appliance to reconsider. I will never purchase from them again.

A superior freezer product

My old freezer failed in May 26 and was replaced by a Liebherr model SIFNdi4155. The Liebherr system is vastly superior in every way, including being extremely quiet, & uses less power and comes with a 10 year warranty. Overall satisfaction very high.

Excellent support and advisor answered within minutes. Confirmed 10 year warranty and quickly answered some queries about my new freezer. Thx to Lionel we were up and running in super quick time.

Special things to Lionel Valentine who was extremely sympathetic and helpful during our installation process ... the Fridge itself is absolutely perfect and absolutely brilliant though giving some constructive feedback, I will certainly review the Quickstart guide and paperwork that comes with the Fridge as it really is just a complete waste of paper. I would probably point towards giving more detailed and user-friendly installation guides and manuals by pointing it to a QR code. Thank you to the team for helping us with our installation of our new Fridge.

Poor interface design and condescending attitude.

THIS IS A REVISED REVIEW AS ASKED FOR BY LIEBHERR UK. TICKET NUMBER 11110041

I contacted Liebherr after an issue with our under counter freezer, when it seemed the unit had stopped working.
After leaving a Trustpilot review I was quickly contacted by a Liebherr customer advisor who asked me to carry out a quick check to try and get the freezer operational again. After carrying out the instructions the freezer was operational again, for which I am most grateful.
The advisor informed me that someone must have turned the unit off by pressing the control button.
I am surprised how this happened, as the freezer was working before we went out and I noticed on our return it was not working, when I came to place some food in the freezer, but he still insisted that someone must be to blame.
I said I thought the panel was of poor design if it was so easy to turn the freezer off. He said that though I may not be happy with the design or it was not what I wanted, it was what their customers had asked for and wanted. So by that somewhat sarcastic remark I am I obviously not a customer of Liebherr I presume?
I wonder how parents with young children and prying fingers cope with this poor design feature?
I found the advisors attitude somewhat condescending. It was like a school child being corrected or chastised by a teacher. Definitely not my best experience of customer care.
I have replaced my original review, as it would have been unfair to comment on a breakdown when it turned out not to be the case.
I looked at reviews, among others, on Trustpilot before purchasing and they were about 4.7. Looking again now, the score has gone down to 3.6 and I would never have bought a Liebherr product with that rating. I certainly won’t be buying anymore Liebherr products after my experience with their customer service and attitude. It looks like I am not alone in thinking this way.

Outstanding appliances and support 5⭐

I recently contacted the customer service team regarding an issue with my appliance, and I wanted to share how impressed I have been with the support I received.

In particular, Louise was exceptionally polite, professional, and attentive throughout. She handled my enquiry with exactly the level of care and professionalism I would expect from a premium brand.

From the outset, the communication was clear and respectful, and the issue was dealt with efficiently. It is rare to experience such a high standard of customer service, and it has genuinely enhanced my overall impression of the brand.

I have seen some past reviews, but I would encourage anyone to get in touch now as the service is genuinely amazing. I am very pleased with both the integrated fridge and freezer, and the accompanying app works brilliantly.

Outstanding support I received has reassured me completely. The customer service is, without question, 5-star gold standard, and reflects the quality you would expect from a high-end product.

This is my first Leibherr Fridge Freezer

This is my first Leibherr fridge/freezer. I bought the tiny CUele 2331 model, mainly because the company specialises in refrigeration

Likes:

I can take advantage of a generous 10 year parts and labour warranty which was a huge value add and worth the added money over and above cheaper alternative brands. Most white goods are not built to last more than the length of the typical 2-5 year Guarantee. This offer suggests to me that Leibherr believe in their product and it is built to last. I wonder if it will last as long as my old 25 year old Bosche that gasped its last breach a day before this arrival?

The fridge arrived on time by a great two man crew from the retailer I ordered it through (thumbs up to Budget Appliance of Beckenham who I ordered it through) and the fridge came well insulated from scratches with film all around the doors and sides. Once removed of film, the fridge shell is wonderfully robust and looks premium quality.

Everything works fine and it came with a UK three pin plug.

Dislikes:

Although conveniently sized for 1 perhaps 2 people, the sizing is not ideal - at least for me. Despite living alone, I would have preferred a 150 cm high fridge freezer with slightly more freezer and fridge space. I do batch cooking and this may not be up to the job for a huge pot of Spag Bol sauce or a couple of loaves of bread on sale. Yet the next size up they offer was 161 cm high, significantly taller and too big model for my needs - clearly more a small family sized appliance. It will take some adjusting to get used to having less storage space but I think it will be ok after I've got used to it and will encourage me not to buy and store for too long, but to use what I have before repurchasing more food.

The interior shelving and drawers look slightly flimsy compared to my old Bosche.

The door handles are a bit low, being a tall person. But you can open from the top easily enough. The bottom freezer drawer is a bit trickier to open and involves a lot of bending over to reach it.

The appliance was covered in clear film and with some sticky tape which was near impossible to remove even with endless rubbing with soap, a hairdryer and even alcohol based sanitizer (all tips from You Tube). Why use perma sticky tape at all? I am disabled living alone having to prepare all this myself as this was not a service the delivery crew were expected to perform. I didn't need to spend nearly an hour of intensive rubbing, scrubbing and scraping my nail to get rid of stringy bits of stubborn glue. It was lucky I didn't scratch the metal. I was exhausted at the end.

Disappointed- simply not robust for family life.

This IRBBI5150 integrated Larder fridge and matching freezer has been a total disappointment. Considering the price point, the quality of the plastic of the drawers and door shelves is too easy to crack and is already brittle. The plastic vario boxes and dairy drawer all stick and have come off the rails too many times , so that they have broken and cracked in first few months . The dairy drawer can’t stand much weight before the runners give in. So a block of butter, a block of cheese and a few charcuterie and it starts to collapse. It’s simply not robust enough for a family - teenagers, kids all go it the fridge and a fridge this size needs to be robust.
Finally I keep having to fiddle with the temperature because I’m finding frozen cucumber in the salad drawer. Would not buy this brand again.

Rolls Royce prices, Temu standard of quality, Ryanair levels of customer service


Disappointing - supposedly premium brand fridge failed within 5 years. Poor customer service.

I purchased a K3130 from AO for £650 in April 2021. Within 5 years, it had failed completely, unable to chill at all.

After about 18 months I noticed the fridge making odd noises, but the fridge appeared to still be cooling food ok, so I thought nothing of it. In hindsight, I should have reported this to the manufacturer as it was in warranty at this point. Unfortunately, the family has suffered a series of bereavements in the past few years, and a noisy fridge was the least of our priorities. The fridge continued, occasionally, to make odd noises, but it has only been since the weather's warmed up this Spring that we noticed food going bad. Looking back, milk would curdle in recent summers earlier than expected, but I had other priorities, just turned the fridge's temperature down and got on with life. In hindsight, the fridge has been slowly deteriorating since about the 18 month mark.

When we had food going bad this Spring, I decided to contact Liebherr for assistance, hoping the item would be repairable. They gave me the number of their local repair specialist, or "engineer" as they grandiloquently call him, a chap called Bryan. I spent 20 minutes on the phone to Bryan, who asked me about the symptoms, and asked me to perform various checks on the unit and the pipes. The conclusion was that the unit was very likely to have developed a slow internal leak, and would therefore be unfixable. He advised a call out charge would be £150. We agreed that given the unit wouldn't be fixable, it wasn't worth a call-out. I relayed this back to Liebherr, who said without a formal report from their linked engineer, they would be unable to help further.

I appealed this - they know the engineer, so could have verified my call with him and taken a sensible view that sending someone on a 90 minute round trip, and forcing the customer to spend £150 to confirm a fridge almost certainly couldn't be fixed, would have been a poor use of time and money. They wouldn't have even have to go have gone out their way to verify my call - their customer service agent (Lionel) told me the engineer was meeting them in their office the next day! I also asked the engineer (by text) to confirm our conversation and his telephone diagnosis, but he never replied. Liebherr advised that if I spent £150 on their engineer, and he confirmed the unit was unfixable, they would likely offer a 45% discount on a replacement. Their like to like replacements now retail at £800, so to call out their 'engineer' and replace the fridge would be the best part of £600.

I pointed out the above, and that the £150 charge was both very expensive, and a poor use of resources. I pointed out that I could buy a budget fridge for £200, so to waste 75% of that on a 10 minute engineer's visit was ridiculous. No one in their right mind would do this (especially given the previous unit had lasted less than 5 years!), and to demand on using their own in house engineer at such a rate is tantamount to extortion (and a conflict of interest - there is an incentive to force customers to use and pay for an expensive approved engineer or they won't help). They wouldn't even agree to cover the engineer's cost if the fridge was confirmed as a write-off. Despite a series of back and forth emails (each one taking several days to be responded to while I was without the use of fridge), including me escalating this to their 'team leader', Liebherr refused to budge. I would expect this level of customer service from a budget manufacturer, not a supposedly 'premium' brand like Liebherr.

If you Google 'Liebherr K3130' reviews, you'll see others have experienced issues with temperature regulation and poor customer service, so I'm not the first.

I have now replaced their useless, failed unit with a budget model by Fridgemaster that cost £200. I would put money on it outlasting the Liebherr unit. My experience of Liebherr - Rolls Royce prices, Temu standard of quality, Ryanair levels of customer service - I will never purchase one of their products again.

I purchase a side by side fridge /…

I purchase a side by side fridge / freezer approx. 7 years ago. After only 3 years, the freeze side broke down. It cannot hold the temperature and beeping alarm sounds 24/7. So I dispose of the freezer part and purchase another set of side by side fridge / freezer.

3 years later, the same thing happens. If I were to repair the freezer again, it would cost nearly £1000. It's not worth the purchase if you are not prepare to purchase their warranty. It's a waste of time and money.

Great design and performance

Purchased a fridge-freezer with integrated water dispenser. A brilliant device - the door closes with comforting strength (no chance of being left ajar), it's quiet and ice production is solid. I am really impressed with the design and performance of the unit. A 10 year guarantee underscores my sense of security.

When is a fridge not a fridge?

Answer: When it's a Leibherr.
I purchased a Liebheer fridge freezer under 6 months ago. From the off the fridge struggled to maintain a temperature below 5 degrees despite the thermostat being set to it's maximum. Leibherr have cited the operation of the item's ' Super Cool' function which is neither Super or Cooling. It appears that in a room temperature below 15 degrees this function will activate a heater in the fridge section in order to keep the compressor running to protect the freezer foodstuffs. However this appears to be at the expense the contents of the fridge section as a result of the increase ed temperature. Liebherr won't take responsibility for this problem and have no solutions descending into increasing technobabble to try to defend themselves. They've also suggested that I could be partly responsible if I have the back of the fridge against an external wall ( I don't) They have also made a 'helpful' suggestion that I keep the kitchen heated 24/7 when it gets cold! In summary if you want a fridge freezer that operates despite the season a Liebheer is not the one for you. This 1 star review can be added to the other 20% 1 star reviews.

Edit. Following this review I was contacted by Liebherr and had a much more constructive and conciliatory email exchange. Although they were unable to resolve my issue they did make an offer of an upgraded model or a full refund

Extremely poor service

Extremely poor service, avoid at all costs . This review applies to their retailer and Liebherr who were an integral part of the process, copied on all correspondence and themselves made commitments to repair which they botched then walked away from.

I purchased a premium fridge freezer that arrived damaged. I exercised my short-term right to reject within the first 30 days, but the retailer pushed for a repair and a small allowance instead. The repair was delayed, incomplete, and left the appliance in a worse condition than before.

When I asked for a replacement, this was refused. I was given shifting reasons: first that they couldn’t deliver due to transport issues, then that third-party couriers couldn’t handle the size, and finally that they no longer had stock of the model. At the time I was told there was no stock, the product page had very recently shown availability and was then removed.

I asked for a second repair to resolve the ongoing faults, which was also refused. I have been left with a defective appliance, inconvenience, and significant stress, with no reasonable resolution offered.

This experience has been frustrating, time-consuming, and disappointing for what should have been a straightforward consumer-rights issue. I would strongly caution others about relying on their after-sales support.

Bought a fridge/freezer CND5704

Bought a fridge/freezer CND5704. Love its solidity. However, major complaint the plaque with the model and serial numbers is inside the freezer element right at the back and you can only access the numbers if you take out the freezer drawers and lie on your stomach with a torch. I cannot believe that such a quality product is so badly let down by this ridiculous element.

We’re sorry to learn of your frustration regarding the placement of the serial number plate. We appreciate that accessing the label inside the freezer compartment can be challenging, and we understand how inconvenient this can be.
To help make things easier in the future, the serial number can also be found directly through the appliance’s electronic display, as detailed in the operator’s manual. This allows you to access the information without needing to remove drawers or reach into the freezer.
