Solo Health Collective is a first-of-its-kind health plan solution built exclusively for independent professionals and solopreneurs. We believe that being self-employed shouldn’t mean sacrificing healthcare quality or affordability. That’s why we created a smarter, more cost-effective, and transparent alternative to traditional insurance.

Solo members gain access to a national PPO network (MultiPlan PHCS), a major medical plan, and prescription drug coverage. Members establish their own self-funded health plan and join the Vault Health Captive—a regulated insurance entity. This structure not only lowers costs but also empowers members to take control of their health spending, with plans that prioritize both freedom and financial sustainability.

We serve a growing base of independent businesses across the country and are rapidly expanding through strategic partnerships with organizations like the Freelancers Union and Rlty.co. Members can choose from three deductible tiers—including two HSA-eligible options —and enjoy coverage that includes preventive care, maternity, urgent care, mental health services, and more.

I have spend the past 2 full days…

I have spend the past 2 full days trying to find a PCP but have been unsuccessful, even with reaching out to HBG Solo. The system they have to search for providers is really bad, inaccurate information, cannot filter for PCP. When I call providers they are not familiar with the insurance, the whole process is very difficult. I would cancel and get another insurance provider but unfortunately I am stuck with them until the end of the year. Basically paying for insurance that I am unable to use.

Hi Eric, I'm so sorry that you're having trouble with the network. After reviewing your experience, I see that we had found a provider close to your home. Kylie from our team will reach out to help find more providers with better availability. In the future when speaking with providers, you will want to cite the Multiplan PHCS network. This is one of the largest PPOs in the country and most providers will be familiar with it. If a provider appears in the search tool this means they are contracted with PHCS. Please let us know if they tell you otherwise, and we can contact them directly. Additionally, if you would like to search by speciality you can do that by selecting "primary care" or "internal medicine". Please know that our team is committed to ensuring you get the most out of your plan and definitely want you to feel comfortable using it. However, if you decide to seek another option, we can help you process a cancelation. You are never stuck.

Kylie makes medical help possible

The option for a personal help/concierge has changed my health and wellness life. Kylie is my rep and has been extremely responsive and helpful. Every small question and request she has always gotten back to me in at least 24 hours. She's provided me so many solutions in my short time with this insurance coverage.

Don't know how I ever lived without this kind of service. I finally feel good about paying an insurance bill.

Excellent company and health plan

The company was so easy to work with, from signing up for a health plan to canceling due to my change in employment. They were responsive, transparent, and helpful every step of the way. While I only had a Solo plan for a short time, I thought it was an excellent value for good coverage. I would have been happy to keep this plan but became ineligible once I started a W2 job.

Truly thoughtful customer service

I've had a great experience with Solo Health since joining at the end of last year, but recently had an especially great experience with them. I was in a tricky situation where I needed an operation and wanted it to be performed by a specialist who I trusted, who only operates at hospitals that are OON with my solo plan. I was able to get fast, meaningful hands on support from various people at Solo and Fairos (shout-out to Allison and Katie!) which made the operation possible and I can't thank them enough for the time and care they gave me. Their customer service is unlike anything I've experienced at other insurance companies.

Great customer support

I have only been on the Solo plan for a few months but everything has worked well so far. I have been able to go to my existing doctors, both in-network and out-of-network. When I have needed assistance, the Solo support team, in particular Allison, Kylie, and Michael, has been very responsive and effective. Thanks and I look forward to the rest of the year.

Good coverage

Good coverage. Prompt customer service. Only issues: Twice I got other peoples insurance cards in the mail. Twice was strange and shows lack of attention to detail.

Kylie has been phenomenal from day one!

Not only did she guide me from the start and work with me through the setup process, she's always been reachable and quick to respond to lingering questions I've had. Additionally, my work situation has been rather chaotic and I've had to reach out to her to adjust things multiple times and she's always done this so willingly and pleasantly. Excellent Customer Service

Excellent Customer Service. I work with Kylie and she's always so helpful and super responsive. I used to hate dealing with insurance but I feel taken care of and am treated like a human being with Solo Health/Kylie.

Attentive, streamlined, and so easy to work with!!

Coming from another insurance company through the NYS marketplace, Solo's been so easy to work with and wish I switched sooner. It's been so simple and direct to get in touch, rather than a several day line of communication for simple answers from my previous company. The agent I worked with, Kylie, is incredibly helpful and responsive. I highly recommend to any freelancer trying to navigate health insurance on their own!
