CEXevo - road review
I had 2 bikes that needed replacing or upgrading. A 2004 TCR road bike, a wonderful bike but getting on, and a lower end cyclocross bike that was ok for cross but not enjoyable on the road.
My upgrades to the cross bike had improved it but it was clear that the frame had to go.
I decided to go for one bike that could be used for road and cross. It had to have an adjustable stem height, so many options were out. The CEXevo looked like the best fit.
My build is Shimano 8020 (mechanical gears) and Hope RD40 wheels with Vittoria Comfort 30c tires. I live in Cumbria so 34/11 and 50/34 works well for road and cross.
So, out on the road today to Hawkshead and Grizedale, 65k and 1050mtrs of ascent. My first impression was that the CEXevo felt like a road racing bike. Not at all like other cx bikes I've ridden on the road, which can feel a bit leaden. It felt surprisingly like the TCR and I was impressed with it on the bigger climbs.
Overall, it has considerably exceeded my expectations and would easily hold its own in local road or crit races. The joy is back!
Any downsides? It did take a while to arrive so discuss lead times with them when choosing your colour. As for the frame itself, I'm more than satisfied.

I found Handsling by chance, visited their showroom and met Pete, nice guy with loads of knowledge of cycling and obviously their product, ended up making an appointment to be fitted , ordered….. all nice and easy.
Decided I wanted a Gravel bike and went back to speak to Pete and within 20 minutes I’d ordered another bike .
The service from the company is first class, the bikes are stunning and look fantastic. First impressions of the rides are 👍👍.
I loved the fact they didn’t try and flog me their top of the range groupset bike but took into consideration my budget, type of riding I’d be doing and then worked with me on positioning

Finally got my new bike, loving the Northern Lights colour scheme as well, first impressions, it a dream to ride and can’t wait to it up the Stelvio in a few weeks. Customer service is fab, very professional and quick to respond to any questions.

I have a Handsling A1R0evo aero road bike and a CXevo gravel bike. Love them both. Handsling helped me choose all the components and have made any adjustments needed very easy.

A good bike that's worth the wait.
There were a wide range of customising options available and when my choices didn't quite meet my measurements the team communicated well my available options. There was quite a delay between ordering and receiving due to logistical issues but in the end it was worth the wait. Having had the opportunity to ride the bike a few times now it handles very well, is comfortable and feels fast!
Still no bike
I have bought the new Handsling TSTRevo timetrial frame. Ordered in January, I was promised I would recieve the frame by early-mid March. I prepaid, because I was promised I could get a full refund if I changed my mind.
It is now mid-May and I have yet to see my bike. You can see why I'm unhappy.
I can understand that they needed to move their paintshop in-house, and we (well I) were notified of a 'slight dealay' and the option of a free hoodie. I wrote to customer support for an update on the new delivery time. Over the course of over 1 month and 5 emails, reasking the question, I recieved no proper answer, and the reply-time was usuallt over a week. Untill i asked for a refund if it could not be delivered by AT LEAST 5th May, and I was then promised to recieve my bike 22nd april - still 1½ month to late. Come 19th I received an email stating it was being packed, and so would defenetly not reach me. I heard nothing for a week, and when I asked what was going on, apparently UK Customs were withholding items. It was not untill 1st May I received a message that it was expected to ship Monday 6th. Wednesday 8th I recieved a notefication that it had been shipped - and I have recieved no tracking on it, and no information when I will recieve it, or that it is even in my country (DK) now, a week later.
I will have to cancel my plans on a timetrial event tomorrow - for the second time - because of this delay. In 3 weeks I'm riding my first big goal this season, and I was expecting to get some training, position dialing etc. in before. I have lost that oppertunity because of this infuriating 2 months delay. I have spent money on equipment (geargroups etc) for this bike, expecting to have it in March. And I have recieved no other compensation than a hoodie, that I francly don't want, especially from this experience.
It just so happens it is way to late to find i new option, and I have throughout this proces received countless reassurances from Handsling.
Do not get me wrong, I genuintly believed the people I have mailed with are sincere. But that does not get me a bike, apparently.
This is one bad experience - and I do not hope anyone else has the same - out of hopefully countfull good ones, but it is none the less dissapointing and frustrating not recieve word, not to know, and having all my plans shut to the curb.
Fantastic Bike, preparation not 5 star
Bought an A1OREVo in 2023 and never got round to submitting a review. I've recently got back to riding this bike now there have been a couple of days without rain. Such a pleasure to ride; stiff and fast when pushing on yet comfortable and stable a cruising pace. The customer service was really good pre sale including plenty of time dialing in correct geometry for my non-standard measurements.
Absolutely love the bike and it performed well on a couple of Road Bike TTs and a draft legal duathlon.
To be a balanced review I should point out that the upgraded saddle I paid for was initially not fitted and relied on my aging memory one day (2 months after purchase!) wondering why the rails were the wrong colour. This was swiftly resolved when I pointed it out thankfully. The power meter did not work initially either; turned out the battery was flat, which was a shame as I'd expect a comprehensive inspection of the bike before collection would have spotted that. If you are paying premium money then little details like that aren't expected. The main disappointment I had was that on my first group ride with my new pride and joy the chain dropped and caused a lot of damage to the bottom bracket area and chain stay and removed paint and lacquer. Even though it is SRAM a simple adjustment to the front mech by me post ride stopped anymore chain drops (as well as buying a chain catcher) but the trashed paintwork in that area is a constant reminder and annoys me still. I didn't receive a reply when I raised this (on two occasions) and given the customer service reputation and the fact the damage was ultimately caused by the front mech not being adjusted properly I would have expected some help and not to be ignored.
