GR Westbuild is a family run Contracting and Maintenance Company committed to creating and preserving the trust and respect of our clients. Established in 2002 by Geoff Latham-Harrod, his wife Trudy and their 3 sons, the business has since gone from strength to strength, growing and expanding year on year. We now have a team of over 20 highly qualified and dedicated engineers covering all aspects of the building trade and 4 friendly, professional young ladies in the office ready to answer any queries and provide as much help as possible. We are committed to on-going training and development to guarantee we continue to provide the best standards possible in our field and ensure further expansion.
Our growth is not only attributed to our hard work and determination but our now well established track record which has seen our services met with great customer satisfaction and recommendation. Although the company has grown Geoff continues to take a very hands on approach to his role as Managing Director, taking a personal interest in every contract, whatever its size or complexity. We are EXOR, SAFE CONTRACTOR, CONSTRUCTIONLINE, and Gas Safe  accredited alongside others which means we are able to tender for a variety of contracts including those for Local Authorities. We have built over the years a portfolio of quality clients we work for on a regular basis and looking to always expand on this please see some of clients below We are also keen supporters of local and national charities Including The Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, and Access Dorset.

Report any issues directly to HSE with…

Report any issues directly to HSE with evidence. G.R Westbuild are incompetent and careless to say the least. Leave sites unsecured, load flatbeds without following basic health and safety guidelines committing significant health and safety breaches. It is obvious a lot of reviews have been removed and word of mouth is that 'Westbuild are a nightmare'. G.R Westbuild site workers are negligent, aggressive, confrontational and abusive in my experience.

I had a very negative experience with G…

I had a very negative experience with G R Westbuild LTD while they were working on a neighbouring property.
Our building has a private car park at the back with only one exit. On multiple occasions, their vehicle was parked in a way that completely obstructed access, preventing residents from leaving. When I politely asked the driver to move the vehicle, he refused and stated that he would not move it and that “even the police can’t do anything.”
This behaviour was extremely unprofessional and confrontational. Instead of being cooperative and respectful toward neighbouring residents, the staff member was dismissive and appeared to be looking for conflict.
Blocking access to a private car park is unacceptable and shows a lack of consideration for others. Based on this experience, I would strongly advise others to think carefully before working with this company.

The access to the rear of the neighbouring property is via a single, narrow lane with no turning area, and our van cannot access the car park itself. At the time, our operative was loading tools and debris before leaving site.

Our operative’s account is that he was approached in a hostile and threatening manner, including the use of foul language. This took him by surprise and understandably caused distress. He denies refusing to move the vehicle and states he was completing loading before departing.

No formal complaint was raised with the company at the time, and We only became aware of this matter following your review, after which our Operations Director carried out an internal investigation. If you wish to raise a formal complaint, we would like you to contact our office directly so we can address it through our formal complaint's procedure.

We remain committed to acting professionally on all projects and welcome constructive engagement through the appropriate channels.

I recently had the pleasure of working with GR Westbuild on several project, and the experience was nothing short of outstanding. From the initial consultation to the final handover, their professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to quality were evident at every stage.
