I bought several Fred boots in the sale. I had to return the first pair due to being too large, the second pair due to a slight Quality Assurance issue, and the third pair are perfect. I was disappointed that the first pair came with dust bags but the second and third pair did not. I contacted the customer service who were very responsive and apologetic about the QA issue. They also pointed out that their T&Cs mean dust bags are not usually included on sale items, but have sent me two as a good will gesture. I’m currently awaiting these to be delivered, but good customer service nonetheless. There are mixed reviews on here regarding customer services, but my dealings with Grenson have been nothing but positive. Thanks Grenson for doing the right thing and being punctual with your comms.
Great quality shoes I’ve bought several pairs also they repaired two of my older pairs quickly and to a high standard
I have 16 pairs of Grenson and they are always happy to take my money. But send them an e-mail about a job and they don't even respond.
They may act like a forward thinking brand but they aren't.
I always thought brands should be as much about helping as they are about selling - clearly Grenson aren't - and therein lies the end of my Grenson experience - I will never buy a pair again.
After about 3/4 months of use, the toe came away from poor quality stitching. Grenson would not repair as I'd bought it through a third party seller.
Grenson does not back their product at all, which is pretty incredible for the price point.
The heel completely came off about 3 months after buying them from a third party. Grenson claimed no responsibility despite its clearly from shoddy manufacturing. I’d only worn them a handful of times

I’ve been a satisfied customer of Grensons for many years, with no reason ever to contact customer service. Recently a very delicate piece of leather came away from a pair of ‘sale’ sneakers. Within a week of contacting customer service, I returned my sneaker boots (having been offered a repair or refund) to Grenson for repair and had them returned looking perfect! Challenge anyone to beat that! Thanks to all the Grenson Team involved, outstanding!!! #forevergrenson
My shoes arrived yesterday (10 April 2024). I ordered them last week and they got to my front door from U.K. to Christchurch, New Zealand in seven days. I am so impressed!
The shoes are perfect, (Stanley brogues, ginger burnished nubuck, etc.) exactly what I expected and you (Grenson) might have even 'over-delivered'! Lovely packaging, two travelling cloth shoe bags, and excellent communication. It was an utterly faultless experience as one is always a little cautious about ordering on-line, and of course there is always a guess at getting the best shoe fit.
I have many other high-end English-made shoes and must say these Grenson shoes are equal to the best of them.
I can seriously endorse Grenson's excellent shoes and would encourage on-line customers that Grenson offers a safe shopping experience.
I have been saving for some Nanette boots for a while. The buying went smoothly, the boots arrived looking beautiful-but be warned the sizing isn’t as you’d expect from regular high street shoes. The first pair were way too tight. I’m usually a 4 or 4.5 and i’d ordered a 4.5 I exchanged them no problem. The second pair arrived this time - size 5.5 but they were way too big.
This is where the problem occurred. Customer service would not allow me to exchange them. They said they only exchange once & they wouldn’t give me a refund as I was now outside the 28 day returns window. They are brand new, boxed & with a receipt. I emailed offering to cover all postage expenses for a further exchange but they have blanked me. I now have a very expensive pair of boots that I can’t wear. It’s an incredible waste of money & seems so mean spirited of this company. I wanted to support a British business but their customer service have a real ‘jobsworth’ attitude. I won’t be buying from them again. Their poor customer service & niche sizing for £290-350 is far too much to waste. Be warned.
Recently purchased a pair of Grenson Shoe 4 Tan Brogues and they got delivered the next day. Upon inspecting the shoes, I’ve noticed a much more darker tan compared to the listed (expected) item. Beautiful crafted shoes but I was set on having the right colour (nothing wrong with the darker tan but not my personal taste). I’ve contacted customer service which they’ve responded promptly, apologised for the inconvenience and advised on returning the shoes & proceeded to organise a replacement pair to be shipped out. Considering all this happened just days before Christmas, the new pair arrived in time. Cannot describe the craftsmanship but the brogues are absolutely stunning. Amazing quality and with the right care they’ll last a lifetime. I consider myself a Grenson “connoisseur” having 8 different shoes and boots styles I’ve acquired over the years but the Shoe 4 brogues are just out of this world. Shame I cannot add some photos to this review to show how stunning the brogues are! I just cannot fault Grenson from my past experiences. P.S. my favourite pair is a “limited” edition Stanley Brogues Crosshatched tan leather I had for 15 years - re-soled once and they’re still brand new looking! Thanks Grenson!
I bought the Dempsey shoes online but the size wasn’t right. I immediately returned the shoes and I bought another pair that I’m very happy with. Unfortunately that was months ago I still haven’t been refunded by Grenson for the pair I sent back, and it doesn’t seem like I’ll be getting my money back at all. Costumer service was not helpful and the overall experience was very disappointing. I’d think twice before i even consider buying from them again. The possibility of paying double is always there.
Bought a pair of Archie shoes in dark brown, but after a couple of months a lighter colour started appearing through, and no amount of polishing with dark polish would stop this happening. Quite obviously they had just tried to recolour a lighter pair in the dark colour, resulting in a horrible, patchy colour that makes the shoes unwearable. If I could attach a photo here, I would. Will never buy Grenson's again..a once brilliant British brand, fallen. I've been told by a bespoke shoemaker that Grensons are all made in India now... such a shame.
I have been buying Grenson shoes for almost 40 years. What was a great shoe went to a good shoe over the years and then went from good to rubbish. I paid almost 500 Euros, less than two years ago worn only on occasions and already there is a hole in the sole. The supposed leather is more like cardboard.I bought a cheap pair of brogues with leather soles in Next over 5 years ago worn most days for for less than 10% of the cost of Grensons and are still perfect. The management are successfully destroying what was once a great brand for increased profits. Never again Grensons, you've lost another loyal customer.
Excellent customer service, today Grenson went above and beyond, finding me some laces when mine had fallen foul of a broken ankle. Quick, responsive and very nice indeed! Thank you.
I needed to replace my light tan 'Archie' brogues! As I don't like getting shoes online I paid a visit to Grenson near Smithfield Market. So I walked into the shop and saw a young woman busy texting, I assumed it was a customer. After a couple of minutes, she looked up and then got back to finish her text before asking what I wanted! Bloody hell, I thought, shoes obviously! I bit my tongue and asked for light tan brogues. "No," she said, "We ain't got none". I ignored the double negative and asked where I might get a pair. "From another shop," she said before returning to the more important task of texting. A few days later I visited the Jermyn Street branch, and again I asked for light tan brogues. The young lad pointed to a pair that was too dark before finding a pair that were almost the right shape but had a hideous sole that was much lighter and made it look like a casual shoe. I tried them on but wasn't happy! At this point, another somewhat cocky assistant appeared and informed me that they would get darker over the years! Well that's handy, I suppose the fact that I'd hate wearing them all that time didn't come into the reckoning. I left and walked straight into Loakes where an extremely helpful assistant treated me like an adult and found me just what I was looking for! When I pay £300 for shoes I do not expect to be served by assistants that can not be bothered! Goodbye, Grenson! Hello, Loakes!
Fabulous shoes, beautifully made, quality and great delivery service, ordered them and shoes arrived the next day by DPD, great experience all round. Thank you Grenson and your talented shoe makers. I'm very happy.
Needed a pair of shoes for a wedding at the end of June. Looked everywhere for the perfect pair & found the Grenson Camden in dark brown. Stunning shoe but my size was out of stock everywhere. Emailed Grenson on 23rd May. They were happy to have a pair specially made in my size. They arrived today 12th June. An utterly stunning piece of craftsmanship & absolutely perfect match with my suit. Amazing, seamless customer service & communication.

I have a pair of Grenson nanettes that are less then a year old and one of the lace rivets has broken off. I contacted grenson to see if they could repair the boots but apparently that can’t do that repair. Because I didn’t have my receipt still they refused to help at all. So now I have a £300 pair of boots that are broken and I can no longer wear. They did offer me %20 off another pair but why would I want to risk buying another pair that could also break
Appalling service. In February this year, I bought a pair of Sneakers 54. Within a month the laces were shredded. I went to the shop in WC1 and bought another pair of laces. Within three weeks the same problem. Either a design fault in the laces or the hooks are too sharp. The assistants said they would return the shoes to the factory to check them. I left my contact details and showed the assistants my receipts. Next day I'm called from the Grenson shop. "Why have I left my shoes there?" I explained my problem again. "Perhaps you are tying the laces too tight". Anyway, to send them back to the factory I have to give Grenson the receipt. But I showed it to them yesterday! No, I have to go to the shop and hand the receipt over. I told Grenson to keep the shoes and never call me again. I've lost £ 262 on something that was faulty.
I'm a long term customer and absolutely love their Fred boots to the point where I have 2 pairs, the Leather sole and the Wedge sole. Cannot recomend them enough.
I've dealt with Grenson's Customer Service team a couple of times regarding new laces and they have always been super friendly and prompt in dealing with my messages.
Overall one of my favourite companies.
I ordered Nettie boots, on arrival the leather was marked and flawed. They looked cheap and hideous. I returned them immediately. I’d initially ordered 2 pairs and made payment for both only to be refunded later for one pair after being told they were out of stock. When the other pair arrived they were faulty as described here. I then had to send numerous emails to get my postage refunded having been charged £6 for postage for a faulty pair of boots. I finally got this refunded after having to chase with emails explaining I’d make a payment dispute for it with my bank. I haven’t yet seen the refund but Grenson advised it’s on its way. Let’s wait and see. The boots are not of great quality for the price tag. I think the quality is significantly less than it was previously which is a shame.
