I am disappointed with my shopping experience from Spain
I am disappointed with my shopping experience.
I ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses for approximately €27 to be delivered to Spain. However, once the package arrived at customs, I was informed that I would need to pay almost €56 in import and handling charges in order to receive the item. This amount is more than double the value of the glasses themselves, making the purchase completely uneconomical.
As a result, I have requested that the parcel be returned to the sender.
My main concern is that, as a customer whose delivery address was clearly in Spain, I was never warned before completing the purchase that such significant customs and import costs could apply. Had this information been clearly disclosed during the checkout process, I would not have placed the order.
I believe customers in Spain should be informed in advance of any potential customs procedures, inspections or additional charges that may arise when ordering these products. Greater transparency would help customers make informed purchasing decisions and avoid unpleasant surprises after the order has already been shipped.

We're very sorry for the frustration caused. After reviewing the documentation you provided, the charges were not import taxes on the glasses themselves (€0.00), but customs inspection, clearance and handling fees applied after the parcel arrived in Spain.
We always send our parcels with taxes and duties paid, so this situation is very surprising for us. It appears your parcel was selected for a random customs inspection, which led to these additional charges being applied by the authorities and carrier.
As discussed privately, we have offered either a full refund or a replacement shipment, and we are investigating the matter further with Royal Mail.
Once again, we apologise for the inconvenience.

Sunglasses arrived very promptly, and are of excellent quality, stylish, and good value for money.
I’m very happy with my purchase.

Great experience with Goodlookers, from ordering to receipt of goods the whole process was faultless. I purchased reader sunglasses, from their great range on the website, included the strength of lens I needed in my order and they were with me in 48 hours. Fantastic!
