Sunday’s lawn-care program damaged my lawn, and getting a refund has been frustrating.

I purchased Sunday’s program because it provides a customized lawn-care schedule telling me what products to apply and when to apply them. Unfortunately, the recommendations I received included applications during extremely hot weather, including temperatures above 90°F.

I recognized that the conditions weren’t appropriate and delayed one of the recommended applications. Sunday has since acknowledged that my decision to delay that application was the right call.

There was also an issue with the spray applicator Sunday provided. The applicator was not applying the product evenly, which is directly relevant to the uneven pattern of damage I’m seeing in the lawn. This isn’t simply a case of me improperly applying fertilizer with my own equipment.

My lawn subsequently developed widespread browning and damage across substantial portions of the yard. This isn’t a couple of isolated spots that need some seed.

I contacted Sunday, provided photographs and explained what happened. The head of their Yard Advising team reviewed my account. Rather than providing the full refund I requested, he offered to send me bluegrass seed to patch the damaged areas.

I declined. I purchased Sunday’s program because I expected the products, application equipment, and lawn-care recommendations to work together to provide appropriate lawn care. I shouldn’t have to spend additional money and time repairing widespread damage and then accept more product as the solution.

What’s particularly frustrating is that their representative acknowledged that I was correct to delay one of their recommended applications, yet Sunday still refused to provide the full refund I requested.

I would not recommend Sunday based on my experience.

So I bought $600 worth of Sunday product early in the summer and canceled my subscription. Only to have them charge me to $300 approx 4 months after my last order. I saw it at my bank account I immediately called them and said hey this is an unauthorized charge I'd like you to please return it to my bank account. I haven't ordered anything in months and didn't have any intention to. Their customer service was reaching out to the warehouse to get it canceled and waited a couple days to reach back out to me and said, "oh sorry it already shipped." Their customer service is absolutely horrendous. No returns, no real attempt to stop the shopping process and now I'm out an additional 300 for something I didn't order or even need. For this company to resort to arguing with a customer and choosing to lose any future business by keeping the money that they were not entitled to is really bad business practice. Really disappointed with the way that they chose to treat this situation. Buyer beware. When you cancel your subscription. Keep the proof. If you can't produce proof months later you are screwed.

In March 2023, I was very excited to use the Sunday products. Just look at the lawns in the ads, green, lush and beautiful. I admit, the first year my lawn improved a lot. Since then, its been all downhill. The primary reason, the nozzles just don't work with this product. A 15 minute job turns into hours. If you don't mind hand watering your yard, this is the product for you. However, if you want time to do other things with your life, try something else. I tried other nozzles and got similar results. There is something desperately wrong with this liquid product that they need to fix.

Definitely dont recommend sunday. It takes 50 minutes to spray a half gallon bottle. While their competitors take less than 5 minutes. Absolutely dumb. I have two bottles left and throwing them away instead of that BS again. Stick to scotts MG or literally anyone

I'm giving four stars because I haven't seen much improvement in my lawn yet from your products. Due to stress and weeds in my lawn, I have been unable to follow the plan you created for me, and I have had to purchase and apply other herbicides. The technical assistance I have received from Sunday has been fantastic, and I hope for good results.

Just a few weeks into the program, and following the ‘My Plan’ tool… the results are, thus far, very encouraging.

Interactions with their AI, was my first positive experience. My second, was prompt P2P consultation with Kara, and the CONTEXT provided was the missing piece. Looking forward to seeing this through… so far, it’s been money well spent,~!

I followed the directions step by step. Soil sample came back good. Product caused more weeds than normal. The weed killer doesn’t work. When my grass came in the next year there’s a huge dead spot in the middle of yard that won’t recover now. Product ruined my lawn.

I’ve been using Sunday for almost two years now and loving it, I’m following the plan to the T and it’s working!

I've been using Sunday for at least 4 years now. It's been an amazing product with fantastic results. I constantly have people walking by ask what I do to have such a thick and healthy lawn. It's easy to use but you have to time well with the weather. I will never go back to the bags of fertilizer again. Sunday has worked so much better and it's infinitely safer to use too.

This is simple, inexpensive and it works. I've been a subscriber for many years and my lawn is always lush and healthy. It's a no brainer, you just open the app and it tell you what to apply and when, eazy peazy

What went wrong? The company decided to charge me $309 for product that I had not yet gotten, I had gotten the trial spray but apparently they don't even give it time to see if it works, instead they charge you and don't even tell you until the day that they charge you, which is approximately only two weeks, they don't send any reminders or bother to give the product time to show results, and as of today nothing has changed except they charged more money, then when I requested a cancellation and a refund, it didn't happen. Apparently you can't get one because they claim that it's 'tailored' to my yard, which cannot be true since a soil sample has not even been returned, which is part of the trial sample. When I called they wouldn't give me a manager/supervisor, claiming that they would just tell me the same thing, I still requested to speak to one then they said they can submit a 'ticket' for me and then they would 'get back' to me, which is probably also a lie. I am so tired of companies or even supervisors hired to handle these kinds of calls and don't do their job, instead they want you to 'submit a ticket' or they will call you on THEIR time like your JUST NOT IMPORTANT OOH but they are SOOOO quick to take that money for something that doesn't work. As of today I did not get a refund, and if I don't that will only give me permission to tell every social media site or any site that takes complaints about this incident.

I've been a customer for 3 years and Sunday has transformed my yard. This stuff isn't something I'm good at but Sunday makes me feel like a pro. No more buying the wrong stuff and doing more harm than good.

After their so-called “customized” lawn care program, I was given the wrong seeds, destroying years of hard work. Their weed control was awful, their customer service full of empty promises. Save your money and hire a local company.

I used this lawn care product for a year, and all I got was more weeds. While neighbors on either side of me did nothing, and their lawns looked better. I followed their recommendations to a T, and purchased everything suggested. This is expensive stuff for not working.

On a side note, they do have great marketing. Their ads and commercials make you believe that their products will make your lawn look green and lush. It’s a shame they don’t work.

I started using this system for my lawn last 2 years ago and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I have A LOT of grass and it was in need of help when I moved in. I have dogs and kids so I needed something that was safe and non pollutant. I can’t recommend this brand enough!

Misleading marketing, poor product, terrible support using the product, and horrible customer service.

I regret trying this product. My lawn looked terrible. They over-promise, undeliver, and DO NOT care about you, only your money.

The first time I tried putting out their fertilizer, there was a layer of crust at the bottom of the bag that jammed the dispenser and I spent two hours watering my lawn with just water. Support person told me it was a common problem. Second time with a new dispenser it only worked sideways. And then, shame on me, I put it into an Ortho sprayer and dispensed it, but if I had to tell you how much time I spent trying to dispense this product... This appeals to people like me who have a gym membership but don't go to the gym; it's just as easy to go to a garden center and get fertilizer, it always has been, you just have to go do it. And if you do you'll save a ton of money.
