Have found this to be a very positive and accepting group. Made to feel welcome at the start and supportive throughout the pandemic. Would recommend this group to anyone. No negatives at all.
Been coming to GeekZone's virtual game nights on the regular since the lockdowns. They're a fun bunch to hang with, and the group's got a welcoming atmosphere
Geek.Zone is a great place to meet people with shared geeky interests. There's so many great activities of all sorts to get involved in and try but Pint Night I found to be a nice relaxed environment to make friends and build relationships. Loads of great people to meet and experiences to be shared.

Geekzone has always been a wonderful part of my life in the few years I've been going. Every time I've attended an event, it's been a lot of fun and very welcoming. I can enjoy what I'm passionate about with like minded people. If you want to get the most out of these events then you have to be open and participate. Don't be shy and get involved in the conversation
Geek Zone is a warm welcoming group. There is a great supportive atmosphere among the group. The organisers are approachable and help facilitate the development of friendships among the group. Would recommend this groups to others
When I first joined GeekZone it was brilliant. But as I used the service more & more. I found that the service which was meant to be helping people. Actually made people with mental health issues a lot worse because of judgemental remarks about work or volunteering. Some of the groups online are noisy, inappropriate behaviour & attacks on people who are vegan. When I complained nothing was done to protect me so I felt isolated, angry & upset. I will admit, I did make a mistake which I sincerely apologised for. However I’ve not been supported by anyone in GeekZone & I don’t consider most of the people to be true friends probably 1 or 2. This charity GeekZone claims to be a charity that supports people with mental health but in fact it is the complete opposite. Because of this I don’t feel as though the group is not suited for people with autism. I don’t like posting negative reviews but I have to voice my concerns & make others aware of my experience.
Geekzone has always been welcoming to me from my first Pint Night event to the present day. Friendly organisers who make everyone feel welcome at every event they host and who try and accommodate everyone as best as they can. Hannah and James as well as others are really approachable, good listeners if you require someone to listen to you and make all events enjoyable and worth the visit. Always like to recommend this group to other friends as I like to introduce new people to the great fun that you can have in this group.
I have been attending geekzone for over two years as I wanted to make friends. They have been very welcoming and even talk to people outside of geekzone on a regular basis. I’ve had fun playing games and chatting at the pub but also attending craft sessions and even trips to theme parks. Great people who are there for you through laughs and tears. Honestly don’t know where I would be without them

Met some people for the first time through it and don't regret going since they are always a good time.
With a large group of regulars and a flow of new faces there was always someone to see and people to enjoy.
I have been coming to GZ since January 2014, and when I first came I could barely make it to my first event due to my crippling anxiety. However, since then I have made some amazing connections and friendships, which the charity helps promote and fosters (this is their target aim) and being autistic their approach is wonderful.
While like I felt previously like an outsider, I feel like I really fit in at the GZ community without sticking out. They don't make a big deal about addressing my autism: they just accept me for who I am and they don't overdo anything. If I share with the trustees any info about my mental health, they keep it confidential as per their safeguarding policies.
They also have links to Pride, Crasac and other small geeky groups which is great because that means I get to meet more people and have met my partner here too.
During Covid their online presence has been really helpful, I use the discord channel a lot and have met people on the other side of the country.
Overall, it's a great place to meet people online, have a coffee or drink with and geek out. Highly recommended.
