I paid 22K for my Classic dream truck from Gateway Classic Cars St Louis. They shipped me at my expense a truck that would not start to pull it off the hauler (2 Cells dead in battery). After I paid extra to get it unloaded at a garage they replaced the battery and got it started only to find out the radiator was overflowing with oil. They put it on the rack and found the cross members, floor pans, and rocker panels were rusted out and rebuilt with silicone than painted black so the undercarriage would look good for the pictures. Brake cylinder including master were all bad. Steering defective. Signal lights broken.
Gateway response after I sent them pictures was sorry we are not responsible AS IS NO WARRANTY. Bottom line I have owned the truck three months and never driven It because it's not safe and I can't afford to have it fixed.

The Detroit/Dearborn facility is wonderful. Great Staff, knowledgeable and amicable. Having listed cars with them, done business with them, they are Professional and correct.
As always, Inspect any cars your interested in, Gateway has little control of what you, the Public, brings to them to sell. They are Brokers of Classic cars, and do their best to present them.
They are not responsible for defective items, merely Brokers of Cars.

Just spent a lot of money on a camaro - got it delivered and several aspects of the car were not divulged even when asked specifically. Driver's side window fails to roll up, turn signals do not work, and emergency brake does not work. Serves me right for not being able to touch the vehicle prior to purchase. I even had a mechanic lined up to evaluate the car, but taking the salesperson's advice that there are no problems with the car and that the mechanic I was going to have look at it had already looked at it and said it was great. Don't take the word of the sales persons - get someone to evaluate it before purchasing.

This is BY FAR the best venue our group has ever used! Between all the "cool factors" & the staffs attention to everything we needed, we will be using GCC for all our future events!

Our first person of contact, Jennifer, was very clear on how things would be laid out. After making the deposit, Jennifer was nowhere to be seen, and our reception was handled by many different people who had not been told anything about what we wanted.

It was a nice venue, however, when it was time for the caterer's to set-up, they were unaware of where to do it. We had reserved all the rooms, with a bar/appetizer buffet at the front entrance. This was not done. everything was set-up in the back by the main buffet line for dinner. We spent extra money to have the appetizers/bar set up in the front, and was disappointed it did not turn out this way.

The lady working the night of our reception seemed very disconnected. She didn't know how to dim lights (for father-daughter dance or first dance); the DJ had a hard time finding her to coordinate lighting; etc.

Overall, I would rate it a 3. I loved the venue, and so did our guests. But, there was no communication between employees, so the layout of what we wanted did not happen and wasn't what we paid for.

Great Place to do business. I was treated very well.

Was so excited and saved $ for my first classic. Was told it was awesome both body & mechanically. I received it and immediately had a restomod classic car builder go thru the entire car. It has a cracked and twisted frame. Gas leak, oil leaks and the cars body was repaired with bondo. The under carriage, brakes,, and tie rods are a mess and unsafe. And to boot electrical is a mess ...brake lights don't work when head lights are on radio doesn't work. ...its a mess I got an estimate to fix all properly 10k-15k. I am contacting the FLA AGs office. I have friends in high places so I'll get their attention. These guys don't give a darn about what they sell. They just sell unsafe and all. I'll keep you posted.

Communication from George Taper was excellent on sale of my 1970 Dodge Challenger Convert. Net to owner was fine and promptly paid. First class operation. — JB

I was very happy with the way the car was depicted on line. The shipper Gateway recommended was excellent. My only complaint is, I had to call the salesman a few times to get him to get the previous owner to bring in the title.

Got my car sold. It took awhile but they did their job. Smooth financial transaction..They do an excellent job handling the paperwork.

As a 16 year old coming into what is considered a car museum, I received wonderful treatment when I told my salesman, David, I was interesting in taking a look at the car i purchased. With no hesitation, we talked a little about the car and he showed me all around it, then left and thought about it, and came back that same Friday. I was only there about an hour before the transaction was completed and i took off in my new 1996 Firebird Formula. Great experience. Will definitely come back multiple times a year and check their inventory. 10/10 would buy again.

I gave them a 2 for a couple of reason. I myself give me a 2. I bought car from looking at video and did not go to see or drive vehicle. It would of been nice if sales person had told me more about vehicle and some of the problems with car. I will never buy a vehicle without getting in drivers seat for a test drive. I know your in the business to sell cars but honesty would of been nice to hear. JKRUM

The experience was great at the start - they could not have responded to calls or questions any quicker. Great service to make the sale. Waited several weeks for the car to ship because they did not have the title in hand and had to wait to get it from the car's owner (with all the usual excuses). The car arrived and things were fine except that there was no door key, rendering the car unlockable and therefore undriveable to anywhere but local / safe drive-thrus. They never mentioned that there was no door key (nor did my inspector find this out because they left the car open for him). This was a very expensive, recently restored car with less that 200 miles on it. It should have come with all of the keys needed to operate it. Following up left no satisaction, just "there never was a key" so tough luck. They made no offer to help to assist in any way or to pay to have a key made, and since it is a 60 year old car, this requires pulling the locks out to hopefully find a key-code or replacing them entirely. After driving the car myself about 200 miles it is now leaking so badly that is is not operable and I have a $60K paperweight - a local mechanic tells me that the "rebuilt engine" with new "this and that" was never rebuilt. Be careful, since they do not own the cars themselves they are relying on the word of what the sellers tell them, and in the fine print they can still tell you anything they want verbally without being held to account.

Bad experience. The car leaked gas all over their parking lot and they were not willing to help. As soon as they got our check they were done. Terrible.

I had a car in Houston store for I yr, when contract ending I pick it up. 1 week later I receive a call from jeff that they had a serious byer, could I bring it back. I told him I would but I needed some money to haul it I was told it would be $400.00 car sold no 400.00 very bad experience, I did not have to bring it back there was no contract. Larry PS make sure you get everything in writing. No more Gateway for the car club members and ME, They would not tell what they sold it, I drop my price by $1,000

I think the salesmen are working more for the buyer and their own interests rather than mine.

Amazing service. I delivered my car to the Milwaukee Showroom just after 12PM on a Thursday. It was sold the following Tuesday morning! Picked up the check on Friday.

Had a salesman just didn't care for his attitude he tried two low ball me on my truck , after I had seen similar trucks there not as nice priced higher , stuck to my guns and it sold for my number
