Ample portions but average food… we have never had a 5 star meal but we have had several 2 but 3 is representative. I felt the reviews are definitely not representative of the meals and my only reason to go to this length is to say the reviews are not…

This is my first time ordering a food service and I was a little concerned that they were in Dallas and I'm in a Houston suburb but that has proved to be a non- issue. The food comes so well packed with ice packs on every side. The food tastes great- very homemade taste which I like and quality ingredients. In casseroles, they are generous with the meat so you get meat in every bite. The choices are nice - home style like pot roast, enchiladas, Italian food, BBQ and steaks and surprisingly really good Asian style food. The portions are large and make 2 meals for me and I'm a plus sized girl. The cakes are the only area I think they can improve - they tend to be dry but taste good. I typically order 5 meals and a dessert and put 2-3 in the freezer until I need them. I reached out to CS twice and got a quick and helpful response. I'm picky about quality and highly recommend.

My 1st and last order didn't go well. I was missing 3 meals. I called and a young girl answered who seemed genuinely concerned that I didn't receive my full order. She called me back to say that it wasn't a GrubHub/DoorDash mistake, but an internal mistake. I was told I would receive the rest of my order the next day with a complimentary dessert. I received my order without a complimentary dessert. The food was very disappointing. The amount of food was generous. However, if it's not even tasty, it's pointless.

We started using Front Porch Pantry a year ago, after a major surgery. The food is tasty, the portions ample, and delivery is great. Food arrives well chilled with plenty of ice packs.

PROS:
*Decent prices - most meals feed two people well.
*Good food - and nutrition/calorie counts posted, so easy to find lower carb/calorie/sodium options.
*Nice variety, rotates weekly.
*Delivery to front door.

CONS:
*Customer service severely lacking - when meals were missing from orders, CS *never* replied to my emails until I left a TrustPilot review.
*Shady refund policy - if meals are missing or damaged, FPP refuses to issue refunds. They send gift cards toward purchase of future meals
*No number to call - email only.

HELPFUL INFO:
*If possible, schedule your order on the first of the two delivery days offered. You will be less likely to have missing entrees.
*If you need a refund, you will have to pester them *relentlessly* to get one. Do not settle for a gift card.

I have been ordering from Front Porch Pantry from Dec. 2024 to May 2025. At first it was delicious and a good value. Their prices per meal range from $16.99-$19.99 and some as much as $29.99. The hook is that each meal is the equivalent of 2 meals. This place is right up your alley if you want to eat potatoes everyday. I personally don't eat potatoes so I was throwing them in the trash. The first 3 months were equal to 2 meals and offered variety every week. You got plenty of meat and a fresh vegetable plus usually potato but sometimes rice or couscous. In the last 2 months the potato has taken over half the meal with reduced meat and vegetable. The variety of meals has dwindled and repeating every other week. The desserts aren't very good. The cake is skimpy on frosting and sometimes dry and the pie and cheese cake is bad. The crust is rock hard and the taste is never good. Like what someone else said on here they don't publish any review rated less than 4 stars on their site. Yes it's true. You have to order $85 not including tax to get free delivery. If not your delivery is $10. The customer service is nice and wants to be helpful but there are no refunds on bad food. Now that they have become greedy and you no longer get 2 meals per serving unless you love potatoes so much that you don't mind that half the container consists of potatoes this is for you! I can't afford to pay that kind of money for potatoes. I wrote 2 letters about this and they replied that people want and love potatoes!

Their reviews are slanted. You will NEVER see a review less than 4 stars. I've written several that were 3 stars and they never publish them. With over 12,000 reviews, not a single 3-star. If you call their support line and ask about it, they won't discuss the topic. Result is the review ratings are false and very misleading. I still like some of their food, but only order about 6 times per year now.
