FortyTwo blatantly disregards their customer base by constantly failing to commit to appointments. As a customer, your time is not valued as they fail to schedule correct addresses, log in appointments, and decide to change them for you at your inconvenience.

1 April 2026
I ordered on the website and mistakenly put the wrong address on the first order hence cancelling it. Despite not paying, I still received notification that my order was filed. I made another order this time and paid with the right address, before writing in to confirm the shipping details.

I was assured over email that my order would be going to the right address, and the erroneous one would be cancelled. Lo and behold on the day of delivery, 9am, I was ready to collect it- I had 2 missed calls as I was busy and called them 5 minutes later but was greeted with their automatic system telling me their hotline was not yet active and starts at 10am. Who should I contact then?

I waited till 10am to call and was told that delivery could not be attempted as no one was home (I was home the entire time), and after trying to make sense of the situation, was informed that this was my fault for giving the wrong address, and I had to reschedule the delivery.

Funnily enough, after settling it on call, I found the failed delivery email which told me they were rescheduling it to 7 April. 7/4, which was 3 weeks ago.

Pretty disappointing service and a waste of time. Make sure to read some of the other reviews and not just blindly follow the 4.9 stars you see here.

Second Update:

The story continues and I am now convinced that FortyTwo has a blatant disregard to their customer base and are simply unprofessional.

I made a repair request which was set to be on 15/6/26. Over email, I was informed that the repair would take place from 12-6pm, and the actual timing would be given the day prior.

I did not receive a message on the day before. On the day itself, I was not notified either and decided to use the online chat with the customer base in order to find out when my appointment was.

Of course, turns out my appointment was not even registered due to a system 'glitch'. They then told me that they would reschedule it to 16/6/26, but here's the thing- I took a leave for today specifically for this. I have work the next day.

At this point, I don't even know what to say. Who is running the 'system'?

You can make the judgement as to whether or not this is a company you would like to support. Seems like they cannot keep their word and issues just do not stop coming. Save your worries, just get your furniture elsewwhere.

Late delivery and horrible product

The delivery was late by almost 2 hours. Called hotline so many times but no answer. Finally managed to get hold of someone via the chat on their website. There were no calls prior to that to inform of the delay. To make it worse, product is horrible. The bookcase cannot even have both doors open at once as it will fall forward. Urge the company to relook at their products. So dangerous to have the doors way heavier that the rest of the bookcase. Still waiting from their end whether a return could be done.

I would like to compliment the outstanding service I’ve received from Roger at FortyTwo. From the very beginning, Roger has been tirelessly managing my purchases with remarkable professionalism and care. Used to buy about 10 furniture from them over the few years.
Delivery used to be super prompt within the timing range. I don't know if they cut manpower or what, the initial timing was 3 to 6pm, they arrived at 7pm.
When the going gets tough, a particular supervisor Leon who was handling and following up on my case went into avoidance mode (calls and callback requests were simply ignored - total of 5 times. Even the whatsapp line backed him up by repeating "I have forward your callback request to him" but no return calls and "another officer will follow up your case as per Leon's email") and simply vanished referring me to just another "Dear Customer" in email and dumping my case onto a much junior officer Nigel. Leon was the one who said NO ONE knows about my case and I should look for him. Leon has apparently written me off and pushing his officer to repeat like a broken recorder "refund or pick another model and top up difference". If you want to write off a customer, please have the decency to say it to me rather than hide. Yes, i released my wrath onto poor Nigel. Wonderful sales after-service. from 5 stars to you can see for yourself. lately so many bad officers, Ash is another one and another one (i forgot her name) before Leon stepped in, i thought Leon was good until he suddenly MIA. maybe he ran out of patience with me. Never encountered a SUPERVISOR MIA before.
The fact that he did this is obvious he cannot be bothered with Reviews nor customer service anymore.
As all emails are filtered through Customer service, don't think this will be escalated to higher mgmt nor anyone will see this.
this will be buried among a sea of "good" reviews.

Bad service

Did order new mattress set and pay $50 extra removal for large item as I want to dispose my old single bed. They only willing to dispose the old bed frame and asking to pay extra for throw the old mattress. The service is super bad and money oriented.

THINK TWICE.

Recently purchased a chest of drawers from this company, apparently the delivery personnel just left the item and run off. Without even unwrapping the cling wrap and let us QC the product. Have to burn an off day to get this exchange again. Really waste time. Will think twice from ordering from them. Just received the "new" item got problem already. Haven't even used it, the schedule team also quite jialat. The delivery was done 15minutes ago, contacted them they say not possible to get the item replaced today have to schedule another date. I'm wondering do they even check their product before sending out. Guys take this as a gentle reminder, if want to order from them make sure you have alot of times on your hand because their support side very very jialat.

I recently purchased an L-shape sofa…

I recently purchased an L-shape sofa from Forty-two, and I am disappointed with the product. The sofa cushion is significantly larger than the frame, protruding 3-5cm, creating an unsightly appearance. After reaching out to customer service, I was initially promised a replacement. However, upon the worker's visit, I was informed that the design intentionally features the cushion protruding from the frame. This conflicting information is frustrating, and the lack of clarity regarding a replacement adds to my disappointment.

niet bij bestellen !

een maagband besteld, 19,95 euro. krijg ik bericht dat ik 24,99 euro moet bijbetalen voor de douane. geweigerd. op hun site staat dat je dan terugbetaling krijgt vd gemaakte kosten maar heb niks meer gezien ....

Worse decision buying cabinets.

Worse decision buying cabinets from them. Spent $996 ( each item was $249) for cabinets that fell apart when I tried to use if after delivery and assembly. Cupboard so flimsy. The pin securing the sides of the pull out is not even secured with any nails .So many fell out when I tried to use the drawer. Prob the worse experience. IKEA was selling something similar at $189. WIll never buy from them again.

Ik heb sokken besteld bij Forty Two…

Ik heb sokken besteld bij Forty Two Shops. Dat was bijna 25€.Ik wist niet beter dan het was een Nederlands bedrijf in Haarlem. Ik krijg het pakket alleen als ik n behoorlijk bedrag betaal aan inklaring. Dat stond er dus niet bij, dacht dat het met gratis verzendkosten was. Geld kwijt, geen sokken… vind dit schandalig!
