Produktinformation

‘Heyer’s novels are delicious: meticulously researched, deftly plotted and hugely romantic, but never sentimental. I devoured her as a teenager but she works at any time of life.’
  1. Harriet Evans, Guardian
A handsome and bored Marquis finds himself drawn into the world of the witty and determined Frederica. Both find themselves surprised by where their journey takes them. This is Heyer at her best, as she weaves together family high jinks and high society drama, complete with a dramatic balloon misadventure and rambunctious ‘Baluchistan Hound’. Bound sumptuously in azure fabric, Sally Dunne’s signature illustrations are perfectly complemented by Jessica Hische’s lettering design on the binding, resplendent with curlicues and accents of gold. This volume is a must for Heyer fans and a perfect addition to the exclusive Folio collection, joining the deliciously addictive Venetia and richly romantic Arabella.

Have loved Georgette Heyer all my life, and was very happy to have this lovely new edition. Unfortunately, shipping and duties are too expensive.

As a Georgette Heyer fan, getting this quality of book for one of her novels was a real treat. I only hope Folio continues to put out more of her works. The quality of both the workmanship and the art was first rate. Beautiful piece!!

I have loved Georgette Heyer since I discovered her in my teens. Now (much older) I am delighted to discover that The Folio Society is publishing her books. Frederica is the first one I have bought, and now I shall be collecting these beautiful editions.

Illustrations are dark, muddy, ugly and do not reflect the sparkle of the prose. Binding is lovely though.

Bought as a gift to add to a collection. My daughter was delighted with it. A bit expensive but excellent quality, expect it will last forever. And the story is great!
