Flooring Xtra Omdömen 

I would not recommend Flooring Xtra based on my experience. While the sales process was positive, the level of service declined significantly once we had committed to the purchase.

The flooring product installed has shown issues far earlier than expected, with a lifespan of only around 2.5 years before problems became apparent. When these concerns were raised, Flooring Xtra showed little interest in investigating or acknowledging the issues.

Given the substantial cost involved, it is extremely disappointing not to receive the quality, durability, and customer support that we were led to expect. For such a significant investment, customers should be able to have confidence in both the product and the company's after-sales service.

Appalling experience
If I could give zero stars I would! Potential customers should think VERY carefully before dealing with Flooring Xtra in Eltham! I wish I had of checked the reviews beforehand. Do NOT expect any support or accountability once payment has been made as you will be dead to them! Our flooring started to lift 3 months after installation and getting any response from them was almost impossible. As requested, 10 x photos were sent, no response, 6 messages, with assurance I would be contacted, multiple emails and even an email to their head office and still completely ignored! I was left no choice but to contact the flooring manufacturer 'Karndean' directly who were fantastic in having this issue resolved. Finally the installer contacted me directly and fixed the problem. The biggest concern, was not the flooring itself, but the complete lack of communication or care from Flooring Xtra. Problems can happen with any installation, but how a company handles these problems, says EVERYTHING about them! Still to this day, no contact, apology, or acknowledgement. Apparently, we no longer exist! They only care about taking your $$$$$

Relating to Mildura FlooringXtra (proprietors: Daniel and Nicole Thiel).

Some parts of the flooring job were acceptable, but many aspects were very poor. The skirting boards are already peeling away from the walls weeks after installation.

The final price more than doubled from the original quote ($19,000 quoted, approximately $42,000 charged). There was limited transparency regarding how these increases were calculated. The additional costs were introduced at a critical stage of construction, when changing providers was not a practical option, and declining the increase would likely have significantly delayed the project. As a result, I felt I had little realistic choice but to proceed, which felt intentional and calculated in order to manipulate a difficult situation.

Communication was inconsistent. When contact was made, staff were polite enough, but long periods of ignored correspondence were common. Emails and phone calls often went unanswered for weeks or months. I literally had to repeatedly beg, plead, and grovel to get any form of response.
Most concerning is that the job remains unfinished. Despite assurances that the outstanding work would be completed, there has been no meaningful follow-through. The most recent weeks of attempts to arrange completion have gone unanswered for months on end, even when I tried to mediate through Flooring Xtra head office.

In my view, this does not meet the expectations of services being delivered with due care and skill under Australian Consumer Law.

Based on my experience, I would not recommend this provider. Flooring head office had no success in remediating the situation, which gives the appearance that Mildura Flooring Xtra’s poor performance and behaviour are celebrated internally as a company value.

Job preparation was very thorough. I had floor layed before from another company but these guys identified uneven surfaces and fixed with sanding and level compound .

We engaged Russell Turner from Western Suburbs Flooring Xtra in Royal Parks, Adelaide. The end result is excellent — the quality, colour, finish, and overall look of the flooring are outstanding. Everything feels solid, level, and well executed. We and our friends next door love the colour, the new floor. Highly recommend Western Suburbs Flooring Xtra to anyone looking for quality workmanship and a company that genuinely cares about getting the job done right. After the job was done, we drove to the store to drop off a bottle of wine.

Very disappointing experience – poor communication, over-ordering, and overpriced quotes
We purchased hybrid flooring from Flooring XTRA Ballarat in [month/year], providing our detailed floor plan so the correct amount could be ordered. When the flooring was installed, we had six boxes remaining—approximately 30% more than required.
When we queried this significant over-supply, the store refused responsibility, claiming it was our mistake. After checking with an online flooring calculator, there was a 14 m² difference between our floor plan measurements and their order quantity.
Despite numerous phone calls, store visits, and messages, we received no meaningful response. Calls went unanswered or were abruptly ended. The only times we were contacted were after reaching out to Flooring XTRA Head Office, and even then, after being promised assistance, the communication stopped entirely.
Before this flooring issue, we had also requested a quote from the same store for carpet in our lounge room. The quote came to $3,004.12 with a 70% deposit required. We later obtained a quote for the exact same carpet from another Ballarat retailer for $2,380.00—a difference of over $600.
Between the lack of accountability, poor customer service, and inflated pricing, we have been left extremely disappointed. We would strongly recommend anyone considering Flooring XTRA Ballarat to double-check all measurements, quotes, and details before proceeding, and to obtain comparison quotes from other retailers.

The last place you'd want to go for carpets or blindsShop for your carpet or blinds anywhere but Flooring Xtra.
Their carpet layer started by placing his ghetto-blaster in the doorway of my office where I was trying to work. All my complaints about his screaming heavy metal at nose-bleed level, including my oncoming migraine, were dismissed with a taunting laugh.
Then, despite us specifying the precise style & colour to the manufacturer, Flooring Xtra came to install blinds of a completely different colour.
We refused to accept the blinds of course and they've refused to return our substantial deposit.
Life's too short to deal with people like this.
