The FIXD Business Model operates like a subscription trap
Be careful with this subscription. I was charged for an annual renewal that I did not reasonably understand was about to occur. After reviewing my emails, I did find that a reminder had been sent—but it was presented in a marketing-style format and did not clearly or prominently communicate that a $109.99 USD charge was imminent.
I cancelled immediately once I became aware of the charge and requested a refund, but this was refused based on their internal policy.
In my experience, the billing approach lacks clarity and fairness. I would strongly recommend reviewing the subscription terms very carefully before signing up.
Buyer Beware - Unauthorised Payments
A similar experience as others. FixD added a post charge after I had agreed the Paypal payment. Order cancelled, money returned. Purchased another reader from Amazon. Just received an email from PayPal saying FixD have billed me (via auto payment!!) for a Premium Subscription ($119.99). PayPal have refunded the payment and are now investigating FixD's business practices. Avoid dealing with this company at all costs!
Unauthorized charges
I did NOT authorize a charge from Fixed Automotive. I noticed the charge on my credit card with absolutely no prior notice or explanation. I have never approved this transaction.
There is no clear way to contact this company, which makes the situation feel extremely sketchy and concerning. Unauthorized charges combined with no customer support is a huge red flag.
I am very upset and currently disputing this charge with my credit card company. I would strongly caution others to monitor their statements carefully
FIXD fraud with forced hidden subscription
FIXD advertise for a Bluetooth OBD2 Scanner for $29.99 plus shipping. They do ship it but a few days later they charge you an additional $124.99.
I got a order summary like this:

When I queried this, they said that it was free shipping in the USA, but not for UK. When I didn't proceed with my online purchase, they sent me an email, encouraging me to go ahead and saying 'Free UK Shipping'. I have challenged them on this but have not yet heard back. Sadly, the reviews on Trustpilot are almost all negative, some criticising the device itself, but mostly about the sharp practice of charging for a 'premium' service which buyers don't want.

This company’s business model is built on fraud and ensnaring consumers.
The gig is simple: offer a free trial but automatically enroll customers in their “premium” subscription. Then, when they cancel, just ignore it and continue to bill them, all the while making it impossible to cancel or even reach customer support. Not on the website, no phone number, nothing except an email address that is not monitored.
It’s a scam through and through.
You will literally have to cancel your credit card account to get them to stop stealing from you.
They charge you $99.99 for a year's worth of premium whether you take them up on the 3-day free trial of premium or not.
FIXD had a Black Friday (2025) special: $10 + tax and free shipping for the plug-in unit. Before they even shipped the unit, they sent an email offering a 3-day trial of their premium, and action was required to activate the trial. I ignored the email. The unit arrived on Friday 12/12. On Monday 12/15, I got an alert from my bank wanting to know if I authorized $99.99 to FIXD. I declined the charges. FIXD definitely has some ethical issues there. UPDATE: I just checked my bank statement online. The original debit charged to my card had the notation "Recurring DDA," which in my mind removes any remaining "wiggle room" for the company to claim it was an honest mistake. So now it's back to the bank to get a new card ...
Support and compatibility only US market
As others mentioned you have to be very carefull during the order process to not order the subscription. But the bigger issue is that the company has very aggressive marketing campaign in Europe but the shipping is from US and also the support is in English. Also the car manufacturers are only the ones available for the US market, like GMC, GM, etc. I bought the device because the claim was, that almost every car is covered. But in the first steps email I got the compatibility list and one of the oldest car manufacturers Opel/Vauxhall is not availiable!? Why marketing in Germany when they have only US cars? So I prompted instantly a refund but they sent the device anyway. I wrote to the support that my car is not supported and I want to stop the shipping. To my surprise when I received the device and gave it a try my car received a "generic" profile so i was able to read the sensors and check for Engine fault codes. No other ECUs can be read. I asked again for a refund and the asked for my email and Order number. After I answered there was silence. With the aggressive newsletters it felt like mobbing because they are asking constantly for feedback. So i wrote in the feedback survey the same issue and that I want a refund. But nothing happened. I ordered on 29.04.2025 and now is 30.11.2025. As far I can judge it is a simple OBD2 reader with a fancy software. But for me it is not worth it because it can read only Engine fault codes.

Disgraceful scammers. misleading criminal company. I bought their device for £23 and now they are trying to take nearly £100 from my bank account. Fortunately my bank picked these attempts as suspected Fraud.

I’ve been browsing used car sales on the internet and saw the advert for the FIXD sensor, which I ordered because I thought it would be useful in the future. I received the sensor a couple of days ago, however, haven’t got around to downloading the app or working out how to use it yet. I was taken aback when I received a notification from my Credit card that a payment for $119.99 was pending for a “premium subscription”.
I immediately emailed customer support to query this “subscription” which I had no knowledge about. The trial period for this was about to expire after which the subscription would be automatically charged. I hadn’t authorised this and wasn’t aware that there was any trial period, nor that an additional subscription would be needed.
Customer support was excellent and explained the premium subscription is an annual charge which offers a lot more information. I found customer support very helpful and reassuring, a refund has been arranged since I’m not ready to use the sensor yet. I will have no hesitation subscribing to the premium service in the future when I’m ready. I was advised that the sensor will disclose some basic information without paying the premium subscription.
I think it should be made a lot clearer in the advert about the trial period, which is inadequate, since most of that time is used up before the package has even been delivered. I also think the subscription for the premium service needs to be requested by the customer, not automatically charged when the trial period ends.

They are scammers. After buying ODB port device they have taken $119 which I did not authorise. In fact I knew nothing about the payment which is an annual payment which I certainly would not have subscribed to anyway

Purchase their OBD2 Bluetooth car scanner online and during the purchase they also offered a premium subscription service for AU $190 which I declined, then after the payment went through I got a invoice receipt showing that I had purchased the premium subscription service as well, I immediately replied to that email stating that I did not purchase their subscription and to cancel the whole order immediately and refund me, they replied that because I have ordered the subscription I would have to cancel it on their website, they said it was free for 14 days then the $180 would automatically be withdrawn from my bank, I followed their link to cancel and it was just a repeat of the previous reply they sent me, the next day they posted it even though I requested they cancel the whole order so I had to call my bank and they cancelled my card so they couldn't withdraw anymore funds. They are scammers! If you check out the reviews on them after the first few they are all negative with the same experience that I had.

They renewed my annual subscription without alerting me to an upcoming renewal and charged me $99.99. When I cancelled and requested a refund, they claimed they could not find the account. This went back and forth for several days and now they just notified me that they cannot refund my money because I cancelled after the new subscription started (1 day later). I would have liked to be given the choice to renew rather than have it forced on me, but it is what it is. That's okay, I will make sure to post about their lack of customer service on every review board I can find. I've blocked them on my Paypal account so it doesn't happen again.

Don’t order a FIXD gadget for your vehicle
Ordered the gadget for my car to see if I had any problems. I paid $22.03 including tax. I received the gadget but I also received another email confirmation, that added _$99.99 for a premium subscription. Which I did not order. I tried over and over doing what the instructions said on the app to cancel the subscription. It just keep coming back to the same screen. The charge posted on my credit card.
