Bought a specific violin on a Monday

Bought a specific violin on a Monday, charged my credit card, got confirmation email. On Wednesday got an email saying they sold it to someone else. Was the only one in stock on that Monday, the other one was sold the Friday before. All of a sudden they are now offering that one, which I did not want. My guess the buyer brought it back and they gave him mine. Then I see they charged my card twice for 2 violins. (Over $7000.00) Then stated it might take up to 10 days to get refund. Will never do business with them again, they lost out on a good customer who has bought 4 violins in the last month.

We’re truly sorry for your experience—when something goes wrong like this, it genuinely hurts our soul. Due to a human error, the violin reserved for you was accidentally sold in our showroom, and we sincerely apologize for the confusion and frustration this caused.

We would like to clarify that your credit card was never charged for the instrument. When an order is placed on our website, a temporary preauthorization is created, but funds are not captured unless the order is fulfilled and shipped to you.

We have tried to reach out to you to make things right and would still welcome the opportunity to rectify the situation.

Great experience

My wife and I drove down from Minnesota to visit the Fiddlershop in person while shopping for a new violin. I had watched many YouTube videos produced by Fiddlershop, but felt I needed to see the instruments in person to make a selection. When we arrived for our appointment, we were met by Ryan and Joe. Ryan sent us up in a room with a selection of bows and violins to try. Joe, the artistic director, soon joined us and spent considerable time describing and demonstrating the instruments I was considering. After comparing several violins, I finally selected an MJZ 925. I was very happy with the way that their luthiers set up the violin, and they also gave me the strings of my choice. Joe finally provided us up with a new case and a certificate of authentication for the instrument. Before we left, Joe offered to give us a tour of the facility which we gladly accepted.

We had a very enjoyable experience at the Fiddlerman shop. Everyone we met was very helpful and friendly. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience in choosing my new violin. Driving down all the way from Minnesota was well worth the effort.

Friendly and dependable customer service

I've both bought and trialed several products here, from violins to bows to strings to accessories. Their customer service is friendly, honest, and dependable, and I always feel safe shopping here. They really go out of their way to make sure you're happy.

Received an email proclaiming "...20%…

Received an email proclaiming "...20% off..." (see below) but Amazon's regular price on the Thomastik-Infeld Dominant Pro Violin Strings DP100 is $81.97 and the "discounted" Fiddlershop price is $87.96!!! THIS IS WHAT IS CALLED A PREACHER DISCOUNT; THAT IS ADD 20% AND TAKE OFF 10%!!!

Be VERY cautious about believing any claims made by Fiddlershop!

We are an authorized retailer for Thomastik-Infeld and all major string brands, and our pricing strictly follows MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements set by the manufacturers. During certain promotional periods, we offer brand-approved discounts in collaboration with these companies.

Regarding Amazon pricing, many listings showing unusually low prices are sold by third-party, unauthorized sellers, not by Amazon or approved dealers. Unfortunately, in those cases the product origin can be unclear, and counterfeit strings are a known issue in the market.

I can always depend on Fiddlershop!

I am a professional double bassist and I use Fiddlershop for all my maintenance, and to purchase my strings and other accessories. The luthiers are excellent and the staff is also very knowledgable and caring. I depend on them to provide me with all my professional needs.

Jemmie from Fiddlershop personally followed up with me after seeing the above post and reimbursed the amount I spent at the local repair shop. I fixed the violin from a local repair shop that did bare minimum work for $155.

If u can enter fiddlershop and check your violin then it’s worth. Honestly i bought a violin for $500 as a Christmas gift for my kid and he said it does not sound good. I wrote to Fiddlershop and they asked me to check and get it tuned from local repair store, that itself gave me the first sign of pushing it on others. The local luthier gave me quote of $278, and said it’s not up to the standards for a $500 instrument. I reported to fiddlersjop and they did not respond as they knew I’m from California.

So folks if your around the shop and can hold them responsible go for it to, I’m in California and even sending it back is $$$ so my advice spend bucks locally to get a right 🎻 that u like. Fiddlershop is shit

Great Experience!

I recently ordered a new violin bow and a set of strings. I have usually shopped with Shar music, which has been great, except they don't have the selection the Fiddlershop has. I am an experienced player, having played for 32 years and attending University on a music scholarship. I was looking to purchase a $500-$600 bow and was overjoyed when I saw a Fiddlerman hybrid pernambuco one for $118.89 and it had great reviews, so I bought it.

I am extremely happy with this bow!! My, "test drive" ended up being several hours of playing, because I was having so much fun! I have only seen this bow on this site, and it plays just as well as a Holstein 3 star. The items were shipped quickly and carefully, and I am a very happy customer. I will definitely shop with them again.

Happy with service and delivery

I ordered a chinrest from Fiddlershop's website because they had the model I wanted, in a wood I was happy to buy; and the photos from different angles let me get a better sense of the shape of the chinrest (it turns out that yes, it's a good shape for my chin :-) This is as good as it gets unless you go to a real shop and actually try them out).

They're in Florida, USA, and I'm in the UK. The international payment worked fine via PayPal and I got a confirmation email straight away. Four stars not five because there was no estimate of delivery time, and although there was a link to a tracking website I couldn't find in my emails the code I needed to find out where the parcel had got to. On the other hand, the parcel arrived on the Monday ten days after I'd ordered it on a Thursday, so with two weekends and an Atlantic crossing that is just fine.

Nicely packaged: secure but not overdone, and all recyclable. I'd be happy to buy from Fiddlershop again if I needed to.
