Can’t speak with anybody your website is completely stupid. Get notices that don’t exist run around in circles. The only way you can communicate is by chat, stupid dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb dumb I would not recommend this service to anybody.
First Disadvantage
World worst background check. I have sent emails back and forth with them for week and a half and gotten no where, there is a section for a regulator which would be them since they do the checks.
There lack of understanding that this is 2026 it is a digital age ask your employer that hired first disadvantage for info about the person you're gonna background check.
It is also stupid that you cannot go to anywhere else instead of them to do the job, we have gov.co.uk to do these checks in the UK why do we have to use a third party brain dead workers to do what a weeks worth of background checks when the government has all the authorities to do it.
All i can say is that this company is unrealiable and should have shut down and gotten bank rupt with the poor performance of a background check.
oh i tried contacting them and they seem to be basment children so have fun waiting for a reply in your emails it takes decades for them to not explain what you done wrong and request you to stare at an image and slowly figure out what the heck you need to do.
one more thing i want to say there first email had nothing clipped no documents to fill and they say to fill it out like bro this is the first email and you already rushing me to fill something out of my butt and imaginations great service and use of tech. but yeah never ever gonna use this crap service again.

Just a horrible company all the way around. 3 1/2 weeks into my background check, I finally was able to get a hold of someone last week and they said it should be done today 04/14. So I call to followup and suddenly the date is now 04/21 WTF!!! this will be 6 weeks. I have already lost 2 offers because of this company. No employer wants to wait that long. Again, I am going to loose out on this employment as well.
So does First Advantage pay candidates while waiting to start work? They really should!!!!! So far this is 4 months of no income between all the jobs I should have had!! DISGUSTED!!!!!!!!

For a so-called ‘professional’ background check company, they should have a proper system to verify educational credentials. Simply asking candidates to provide a registrar’s email and phone number opens the door for manipulation. What a ‘professional’ approach.
Serious concerns about accuracy, delays, and lack of accountability
I am extremely dissatisfied with the way First Advantage handled my background check.
Despite having a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and submitting all required official DMV documentation, my background check has been significantly delayed without any clear or valid explanation.
I have made multiple attempts to resolve this issue through their support channels. However, I have received only generic, automated responses with no meaningful assistance, no timeline, and no accountability.
This delay has directly impacted my ability to work and has already caused financial loss. A company responsible for employment-related background checks must understand the serious consequences of inaccurate or delayed reporting, yet First Advantage shows a complete lack of responsibility.
There are also serious concerns regarding the accuracy and reliability of their reporting process, as well as their failure to properly review valid official documents.
Due to this experience, I am preparing to escalate this matter by filing formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and other relevant regulatory agencies.
I strongly advise employers and individuals to reconsider using First Advantage, as their process is unreliable, unresponsive, and potentially harmful to people’s employment opportunities.

They are a company completely devoid of ethics and professionalism; they refuse to acknowledge their mistakes. I have spent over a month sending them evidence of their error, yet I have received no response. They do not care about ruining people's lives with their false accusations.
Unable to Open Reference and No Phone Support
I was unable to open the reference that was sent to me and the company does not have a telephone number to call to speak to a live technical support person.
Poor communication and disorganized service causing TONS of delays!
This company that is being used by my (soon to be Employer) is so disorganized and very poor in communication causing delays in my start date as they are taking forever to complete my background check!
First email, they send me a cookie cutter template that is basically saying "Kindly Provide Access Code and SID" without context of which of my previous employer they need this info? Second email - "Kindly provide Access Pin to verify'.. again no context! What PIN? ATM? Third email - "Pls provide address of previous Employer" but then right below the name of my previous employer is the exact address with zip code! and lastly, they are asking for "non-expired Philippine valid ID" since I graduated from the Philippines! But I have been living in the US since 1999 and have been a US citizen so I do NOT have a Philippine ID, let alone a non-expired one!
Now I followed up with my soon to be employer and they told me that it may be delayed for at least 2 weeks as the report is still pending. It's been over a month since they started this process!
First advantage, please improve your service as you are impacting start dates of people who needs their paychecks! Just Google/Reddit your reviews and you will see TONS of unhappy people who's start dates are getting delayed because of you.

saying my ID is confirmed true, but then saying they couldn't confirm it. Trying to get in touch with customer service and all of a sudden it doesn't put me through to an agent anymore unlike before. I logged in and immediately received an automated scam text on my phone, so they have leaked my data.

Worst background screening company ever…
Worst background screening company ever and I use over 35 of them. Cannot get a hold of them. The customer service is in India and the people I keep talking to are too hard to understand. I launched a background for my company on March 18th. I have called 4 times. It is now April 2nd and it is still pending. They told me it was the courthouse holding it up. I asked for the name of the courthouse and the one they gave me is in a large city so that cannot be true. However, after he told me the county and I asked for the state the county was in, he did not know what a state was. I asked 4 times then I had to tell him like California, New York, Florida. Shameful that people who speak English poorly and do not understand basic questions are in a customer service role. It's because companies like First Advantage want to pay people $2/HR and head to India. And, of course, they tell me they do not have a supervisor, that they cannot transfer me to a supervisor, they cannot give me a supervisor's name or number. Priceless!
