I've bought blanks for turning from English Woods several times. They're not the cheapest but they're not very expensive, either and I think it's worth the extra. It's all been good quality - the timber and the preparation.
I've only had one problem and the company supplied me with a replacement blank super promptly with no quibble and polite and friendly email. My impression - nice people to deal with who take a pride in what they do.
I brought 3 different types of packs as a gift and my son. He is very pleased with the quality and variety. They were well packaged. Thank you.

Super small company. I’ve had two bowl blank packs now and delighted with both. The second one was actually a ‘seconds’ one - ie yew blanks that were defective in some way. In practice they are all usable, much more so than I’d expected, and beautiful pieces of wood. The products are well priced compared to many companies, speedily delivered and with the sense that it’s good to know where your wood has come from (in this case the actual tree involved, and its cutting history). I’ll be coming back to them for more.
Great company, speedy delivery, had my second order of over £40 and have made some great things using their wood for wood turning, definitely recommend them
I have had over half a dozen mixed packs from English woods and have always been pleased. I thought I would buy their “superior pack” they describe it as “ An indulgent selection”. Unfortunately it was pricy plain.
The advert did say it would include a “premium bowl blank” I found a ash blank with the letter “P” on it but to be honest I’ve had far better from their normal none premium pack.
If you’re expecting something exiting then this pack isn’t for you. I will continue to buy from them but I’ll just stick to the basic stuff.
