Lawrence is a very amazing tutor. He has helped me increase my grade 5 in english lit to a grade 6 and a grade 6 in english language to a grade 7. Helping me increase each of my grades up by one grade has made such an impactful difference and will open up so much more opportunities for me.

Excellent Progress!
My daughter struggled with formulating the answers needed to meet the requirements for her GCSEs and in her mocks achieved a 1 and a 2 in English Lit and Lang. The school still told me that things would turn around but (even when I asked in November 2025if I should get her a tutor) by February 2026 said maybe I should get my daughter a tutor! Anyway, we found Laurence and in the short time he worked with my daughter she passed both with grade 4 (Literature was a mark off a 5) so we are appealing it. Without Lawrence's guidance, I do not believe she would have passed so thank you so much!

We found Laurence with not much time left before GCSEs. He gave our maths/sciences minded son the confidence and skills to move up in English from a predicted 4 to a 6 in just a couple of months. Laurence tutored my daughter, Lily, in English Language for around eight months after she had struggled with the subject at school and achieved a Grade 4.

The improvement she made while working with Laurence was remarkable. With his guidance, encouragement and structured approach, Lily grew significantly in both her ability and confidence. She ultimately achieved a Grade 7 in GCSE English Language, an improvement of three full grades.

That Grade 7 was particularly important as it helped Lily secure her place at UCL, her first choice university.

A great service - our son has massively improved in both ability and confidence - thanks so much

Laurence helped my son prepare for his GCSE English resit. My son found the sessions prepared very well organised and designed to help him structure his revision and plan his approach to his examination. The result achieved was excellent - a 3 achieved in the first examination in the summer of 2025, became a 6 in the resit taken in the winter of 2025.

My husband and I would like to thank Laurence; you're the best. My son found the lessons great, and Laurence always made him feel at ease and helped him understand everything. He enjoyed every lesson (he didn't enjoy it at school) and always came out happy afterward. He managed to achieve a much better grade than before. We are really pleased. We asked Laurence to support our son Harry with his 4th attempt at English language GCSE. Harry has always struggled with English, and on his previous attempts he could not get higher than level 3 in the exam. Laurence supported Harry with online tutoring and Harry found his approach much more helpful than other face-to-face tuition he has had in the past. With just a couple of months of tuition at 4 hours per week, Harry passed his GCSE English language with a solid level 4.

Laurence is a fantastic English teacher. He was very organised, detailed, amenable and tailors his teaching to the needs of the student.
