I should have looked at these reviews and realised that so many 1* reviews means this company are not at all reliable. I ordered a personalised cheesecake for a surprise party for my son's 30th birthday (he loves cheesecake rather than cake) I thought it was pricey but accepted that it was for a special occasion so it would be worth it. I ordered the Cookie Dough/White choc combo and requested a delivery date which was all accepted. Received a confirmation email and subsequent emails from DPD telling me that they were awaiting my order. The day BEFORE delivery was due I received an email saying the Cookie Dough was out of stock and how did they want me to proceed! In the same afternoon yet another email came from DPD saying yet again, that they were awaiting the cake for delivery. Unfortunately I did not see the email about the Cookie dough until Friday afternoon whilst waiting in ALL day for the delivery. To say I was angry and disappointed was an understatement. I left 2 phone messages and emailed back but didn't hear from them until today where I have received an apology and been told that I can have a refund but it will take 10 working days! What a joke. Very unprofessional and poor service. I strongly recommend people stay away from this company. I await my refund of £58.50... Fortunately Costco came to the rescue with a large caramel cheesecake at £13.

Quite possibly the worst cheesecake I’ve ever had. Described as luxury vanilla cheesecake with lotus biscoff on a crunchy biscuit base. There was nothing luxurious or crunchy about it; it was soft, soggy and hugely disappointing. Purchased from Waitrose in a pack of 2, will walk past them next time!

Was practically 70 percent chocolate chips . Ingredients said 5 percent only.
Contacted the company with the carton but could not care less as I didn’t take photo of the product . And they dismissed my claim .
I know how this has happened it was the last tub as chocolate is heavy and sinks to bottom this was full of chocolate. Will never buy there products again .

Sampled their salted caramel & blondie frozen cheesecake at the Taste London food festival on Saturday! We were disappointed to hear that they were only selling individual portions and not whole tubs there but one of the guys kindly slid me a free carton! They were honestly such nice people and the frozen cheesecake was so tasty that I’ve added their sundaes to my tesco online order! They’ve definitely got a new customer from me! Thanks so much!

I should have read these reviews before ordering. The company has defaulted on both of the orders I made - one for Christmas and one for a birthday. Very disappointing! I will not be trying again.

Cake did not arrive at all. Company blames the courier. We recieved misleading and contradictory messages from the courier. Company offers a replacement but not for 5 days. We did order with sufficient time (approx' 10 days in advance). This was for a birthday, which the company was aware of. We were left feeling dissatisffied and frustrated with the service offered. For the premium price we paid (£44) this is simply not good enough. I suggest that if you need a cake for a celebration or event, then you find a good local baker and give them sufficient notice to get what you expect.

I couldn’t be more angry and dissatisfied.
So you think placing an order for edible goods will be delivered with care and some sort of consideration for the recipient in mind. So why is it ok for a cheesecake that cost me over £70 plus delivery, the delivery driver thinks it’s ok to leave on the doorstep without knocking the door or any other notification to let one know it’s delivered, to only then have it robbed and when you get in touch with the company in question they can’t even have the decency to respond back, it’s been days and days I’ve contacted them with my complaint and still not heard off them, this was back in 2022 it’s now 2023.
I’ve never dealt with such a company who can’t even be bothered getting back to their customers in a quick timely manner.
Surely it doesn’t take this long to get back by email, or are all your staff still on holiday from Christmas? I think surely not!!!!
Highly disappointed and seriously annoyed!!!!

My niece and I had the pleasure of enjoying the lotus biscoff cheesecake. It was delicious and our only wish was for a bigger slice. We will definitely be trying it again soon. It was amazing

Purchased some of their cheesecake slices from Sainsbury’s and honestly after tasting them would never buy them again. The taste is bland, the texture is not as creamy and the biscuit base is a real let down. For the price would have been better off buying the supermarkets own brand, which is surprising considering I’ve paid less from small bakeries for a better product that isn’t mass produced so would have a higher cost for them to make than this company. Guess that shows they put profit above quality

Hello there. Me and my partner often end up wondering around Sainsbury’s deciding on what to have for desert, and more often than not, end up selecting one of your tasty offerings. However. This evening we came to open our latest purchase, a lotus cheesecake sundae! Delicious hey? Unfortunately not, all I can say is it must have been made by your resident badger. When I say it was full of hair I mean it, over the next few days I’ll be competing with my cat on who can regurgitate the biggest fur ball. Very disappointing.

I've tried this company twice. The first time the cake was nice but delivery was late. The second occasion I ordered 2 months in advance for a 30th birthday. When it came to dispatch day, oh dear, we sold your cake to somebody else last month. Seeming as all their stock is frozen you'd think they would have better stock control and identify this earlier than a day before delivery. Ruined birthday plans of course and was offered an alternative cheaper cake that was nothing like the one ordered.

Cakes seem quite good but the company are pretty shambolic. Asked for a refund which took multiple chasers to receive.
Not worth the hassle

Found a hair in my 3 year olds birthday cake. Took a month to reply and complete their so called investigations. At the end- as no proof - no picture and did not send the hair back to them ! No compensation or refund. A joke company. Too expensive for what it is. Do NOT order - I prefer caffe concerto

AVOID this company at all costs! I ordered a cheesecake to be delivered to a Sussex address on a Friday, two days later. They happily took my money, dispatched the cheesecake then SENT IT TO GLASGOW! I watched in horror on the DPD app (The delivery courier of choice apparently) as my cheesecake headed north not south, and was even more angry as I saw DPD blamed ME for the issue by claiming I'd asked for a new date for delivery!! As if I'd do that on a perishable cheesecake!! When I contacted The English Cheesecake Company on the Saturday to complain I was told that they didn't offer customer services over the weekend (well who the heck answered the phone then?), and to email them on the Monday.

This company is a joke. If you want a frozen dessert of this sort then you're much better off ordering from Patisserie Valerie - I've done so before and the order was on time and the dessert absolutely gorgeous. It was also substantially cheaper than the prices at TECC.

It will be interesting to see if I'm offered a full refund or whether they try to fob me off - if it wasn't for their blatant disregard for their customers and their courier's lack of professionalism I may not have felt the need to out them in this way.

Avoid, avoid, avoid is all I can say.

I ordered a cheesecake from this company a month in advance of the delivery date and paid an extra £10 delivery fee for it to be delivered on a Sunday for my daughters birthday . Sunday came and went without a delivery ,i emailed the company who immediately (next day) informed me that there had been an unexplained delay of 24 hours with the cheesecake . Apparently this was my fault and my contract with the delivery company ,as a good will gesture i was offered 20% off my next order which doesn't even cover the delivery cost of the original cake. Monday arrives 6pm to be precise now at least 48hours after the cake was dispatched (if it was a delivery error) a sloppy thawed mess left on the doorstep on its side rather than flat as the packaging suggests . I would have been better off just putting a £50 pound note in the rubbish than ordering from this company ,the customer service team are to put it mildly clueless and i will never deal with these people again . Its the usual if things go well great reviews but if things go bad no customer service to back them up . AVOID for the cake and AVOID for the customer service . In a world full of great online companies and wonderful customer services this is not either .Happy to give to give both the delivery photo of the cake on its side and the customer service response for those who want it. Again AVOID

Great service. Cakes ordered easily and turned up when stated.
Just wish they did more flavours.

Fantastic customer service, contacted a couple of times via messenger and got quick, helpful and friendly responses. Cheesecake was delivered on time and well packaged. Absolutely delicious and will be ordering again to try out other flavours. Highly recommended :-)

I ordered a cake as gift for a friend after trying the brand in waitrose. It was easy to do and arrived frozen to them the next day!
A great service and i cant waI to order one for myself and the rest of my family.

Highly recommend to all who are looking for a birthday gift for the person who has everything !!
