Highly recommended! Nicola has achieved what I thought might be impossible in engaging and inspiring T in both English and History. T went from loathing both to considering them interesting and ‘almost fun’ (which is high praise indeed from T!). Nicola has a way of encouraging T and pushing her to achieve more without any stress or discomfort which is so important. T enjoys talking to Nicola and expressing her opinions during class, something she found very difficult previously. So, yes, highly recommended!

Nicola has tutored all three of my children. My older son, who is neurodiverse started with her in year 10 . She was amazingly patient with him, even when he was sending her extra work to be marked right up to the night before his GCSE! He achieved a Grade 9 although the school predicted a Grade 6. She also helped him with History running up to his GCSE, where he was also awarded a 9.
Nicola is patient and always chats to the children too so they feel comfortable and confident with her - she always gives feedback on how they are doing. She is accommodating with timings and lessons where possible and ran lectures for the parents coming up to GCSEs to see how best to support the children.

Nicola has been an amazingly calm, supportive and positive guiding force in helping my daughter get to grips with her English Language and Literature GCSEs. My daughter has a significant language disorder which obviously makes studying English supremely difficult despite her underlying ability but, with Nicola’s steady support over the last year, my daughter has really grown in confidence and skill.
Regardless of grade achieved in the exams it is wonderful to see the progress that has been made. This progress has been great but it is the growth in my daughter’s self-esteem regarding English study that I value the most.

My 14 year old son really looks forward to his lessons with Nicola. She is encouraging, organised and clear in what she asks of him. Nicola took my anxious & sad mock grade 2 GCSE history graded daughter to a grade 7 in 3 months. I sat in with some of the lessons whilst cooking tea & found that I love history too. It’s never history that’s boring, it’s only the teacher. Nicola is a perfect teacher who is knowledgable & so enthusiastic about her subject that anyone will learn & love it too.
