There was a post about anyone needing help with air fryer and I reached out in the inbox for a family member in need. I was surprised to get a response. The person who responded was not just kind enough to offer the air fryer but when they found out that the recipient lived far, they offered to post the air fryer which they did. What a kind act to a random stranger from a random stranger. Thank you Gemma and staff. Might not be a big deal to you but it certainly was to me and my family.

This group used to be really good with lots of helpful posts. Unfortunately it is nowhere near the high standards it once was. As other reviewers have said a lot of posts are now shared from other sites, Money saving expert being one they've shared from recently, plus lots of off topic and banter posts. There seems to be little knowledge from the experts and help is insubstantial and usually available elsewhere easily. If you're looking for a group to help then I suggest you look elsewhere for more comprehensive advice. There are far better groups out there.

What is going on with this group?
"Would a telephone helpline at weekends be useful?" followed a few days later by "Shall I shut this group down?" Then the increase of banter, none of which seems either relevant or funny and the decline of actual help and guidance to those sorely in need. What a shame its all gone wrong.

Blocking people for no reason. Blocked from both platforms. From group apparently I lough reacted on things. Nothing that I am aware of. After I questioned it why haven’t they contacted me as it is easy to fat finger something, I got blocked from the page as well and that within a second. What is she afraid of?
Update: They have now flagged my review. So much focus on blocking and bad reviews instead of helping people.
Update 2. Laughed at what? I asked if you have contacted me about? You don’t just block people without explanation or checking first. No business does that. And it seems like blocking is your main priority atm #beprofessional

Scam company and anyone who says this, they then report.
They have now flagged this review and request I send them my information.
Edit: have once again flagged my review, company ripped people off and now all of a sudden loads of 5* reviews like this done nothing wrong. This company needs properly looking into.

Well it appears that just like everyone else who has joined another energy advice group I’ve been thrown out of this group. (I’ve joined 2 recently to see where the best info is while trying to decide about fixing as there didn’t seem much help on this group).

What are you trying to cover up? Why is every negative review flagged up? I can’t believe the number of people you’ve thrown out.

I haven’t taken part in any hate campaigns imaginary or otherwise but I think there’s a lot of questions that need answering.

Just what governing bodies have checked your books? Have you actually been audited?

Throwing people out of group that having done nothing wrong ? Honestly grow up and accept responsibility.

Terrible and irresponsible behaviour that is bound to raise questions.

Good job energy companies don’t throw customers out that leave a negative review.

It appears I have been blocked from using this very helpful resource. After delving into the reason why, it seems it was solely because I joined another similar group on Facebook. This seems very unfair as now I have no access to the information provided by this company! It’s not helpful for me at all! I have learned a lot about how to save money from this group and am extremely disappointed at being blocked for such a petty reason. While I never submitted a post on the Facebook page, I only commented maybe twice on posts, BUT I did gain lots of useful information. How is this helping people if you’re deciding to not allow them to use your resources? Which was the whole premise of your organisation. I am really disappointed in the pettiness of what purports to be a legitimate business.

Gemma was always absolutely on the ball. Also very knowledgeable. I don't need to research as Gemma did it all for me.Thank you!

This is the 2nd review I'm leaving for this helpful group. Not only did they get a meter sorted when having to live in a property with no supply but also getting compensation for us.
I would absolutely recommend this group they stick up for the people who electric companies do not listen too.

Gemma is an amazing women who really helped me and many others. The world is a better place with her in it.

Ignore the hate campaign and keep going.

I recently sought energy support and advice, and I must say, the experience was extremely disappointing. The advice I received was vague and lacked any practical solutions. Instead of providing tailored suggestions to reduce energy costs, I was given generic tips that I could have easily found online. To make matters worse, the response time was painfully slow, and when I did finally get in touch with someone, they seemed uninterested and rushed through the conversation.

Furthermore, there was little to no follow-up or proactive help to ensure I was implementing the advice effectively. Overall, the service felt more like a box-ticking exercise than a genuine effort to help customers. If you're looking for real, actionable advice on energy savings, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

They can’t stop lying ..I’ve provided the name I was on fb on their group with but still they lie! As if I’d provide incorrect information like get my name wrong!They are a joke. Avoid like the plague

EDIT..their reply below is absolutely false I never been a UW customer never mind a rep! And I know the founder/main admin knows this ..I also have fb messages between me and her which prove I’m not. Messages that go back to 2021…Be very careful with this group they will stop at nothing to hide their lies.

I was a member of this group for a few years and will admit to getting help and support, but over the last 6 months or more I felt the group was not as helpful. Lots of pushing of deals which seems to benefit the main admin by using personal codes.

And then I got blocked no idea why or even when as I’d stopped following the group as it didn’t feel as helpful/useful as it had been. Only found out when one of the previous admin messaged me to tell me and explained what had been going on and how the CIC was not what it should be. Hopefully the CiC can be investigated as it should be.

Dodgy
Lots of dodgy practices on their Facebook. They only push companies they get paid from through affiliate links or otherwise, and are very rude to people that don't agree with them.

They just seem to be in it to make money out of a vulnerable situation (cost of living crisis). They'll claim they are victims of a hate campaign when really it's just people who don't agree with them.

Snuggy mystery box debacle
Pushed loads of people to spend £60 on a snuggy mystery box that for most, turned out to be unusable stuff they had specified they didn't want.

The female admin clearly has some sort of deal with them or is getting a percentage of the profits, because she is in direct contact with them and has been pushing this, so gets mega defensive if anyone criticises it, calling them rude when they aren't (and assumingly using this as an excuse to block which she's quick to do if you don't agree).

She even had defensive come backs for why it's OK to push people to spend £60 on what for one person amounted to 72pairs of socks, during a cost of living crisis.

It's not OK.

They tried to get this review taken down, twice.saying it was for another company when it clearly is about the energy support and advice Facebook group.

This review is about the Energy support Facebook group and the Snuggly debaricle was an example of their shoddy work. They shouldn't have had any sort of relationship with a company without doing due diligence.

Happy to write further on this review about my specific issues with the group if pushed to remove the snuggly comment.

I just tried to join but was either blocked or it gone said pending but dissappear . Not very good if looking for new members was only wanting advice on my electric and gas meters

The amount of lies from this woman are just unbelievable. Quote " I am keeping a dignified silence on the matter". Yet sending patronising replies on here. You need to prove you have not misused charity funds instead of silencing those who expose you. Going forward maybe lose the hero complex and be more constructive and honest.

Gemma and her colleagues are absolutely fantastic, their approach to providing incredible levels of help and support is superb.
I have been aware of and interacted within their community for a long time, however when I needed their support myself I was amazed at how well their assistance worked.
My sincere thanks and I wish you continued success - please remember to take a few moments to look after yourselves as well as your community!

This facebook group has gone downhill. The “director” likes to dictate and control freedom of speech and does not like people to have an opinion. My honest review has now been flagged 3 times in a bid to improve her Trustpilot score I see she is doing this to most 1 star reviews. The advice is generic and since the experts left this group it’s lost its way

I’ve been part of the group for a long time now, back when it had no where near as many members as it does now. I’ve assisted in a variety of queries whether it be helping someone directly or helping Gemma to help someone else and if there’s one thing I can say it’s this.. Gemma is the only person I know who will go out of her way to help the most vulnerable, a lot of the time it’s at ungodly hours. I very much believe in the premise of the group and it’s why I’ve stayed a member and supported how I can for the time I’ve been a part of it. I will continue to support the group how I can and it gives me great comfort to read some of the positive reviews about how people have had headaches with their suppliers resolved, as this is the whole point of the group.

That’s good but Trust is very important. You can’t just say you done nothing wrong you have too prove it so people can see everything is legit.

This used to be a good group, very busy and always have good advice. Recently there was some arguments about the Fundraising, people were saying the organisers were money on luxury’s. Their Gofundme was shut and all the admin and regulars left or got chucked out. Now the group is so quiet and not helpful. People have been asking for proof the money was used wisely but the organisers just say they done nothing wrong and block people. Very sad cause we need a group like this coming onto winter.

Removed from the group with no warning. Don’t know exactly what i’ve meant to have done, was never rude to anyone. But also the group founder is on a massive ego trip, tries to be a comedian and it’s cringe worthy, posts articles without fact checking them. There’s some good advice given, but it’s mostly from other members
