Get the same old shit at the beginning ( we are experiencing large number of calls blah blah blah all the information you need is on the website blah blah blah) tell you what then hire more staff to answer the calls. Better yer do your job properly so people that pay your wages do not have to call you morons.
They already hold SMSTS certification
I'm already hold SMSTS certification, yet they are still required to complete another health and safety exam. It feels unnecessary and more like a money-collecting exercise than a genuine safety requirement.

I've had a gold card for 8 years, with 23 years industry experience.
Out of the blue when renewing, they've changed the criteria and are now stipulating an apprenticeship as part of the signoff.
So the application is on hold, but dont worry they took the money for the H&S assessment and card application first before getting an email a week later to say it's on hold.
Can you get hold of them to sort it? Of course you can't. Pathetic waste of space. Telling people who have decades of experience and qualifications behind them that they need to apply for a labourers card because they don't suit their niche criteria.

Renewal IT issue
Due renewal of card. Left 4 weeks to carry out H&S test online and renew card. Have all qualifications required for approved Electrician and have had for 20 years. Keep up to date with regs, NICEIC registered etc. My renewal has been sat with a IT issue for 4 weeks which after emails back and forth for four weeks is on their side. My card has now expired leaving me with no card. I now am unable to attend sites where card is required due to this ( site will not accept paper proof of test). Left between a rock and a hard place.

Absolutely rubbish service. Overload of info, had to play around to find exam. Finally did wasn't compatible with camera or something. Then uploaded the exam, wouldn't let me answer. Then have to contact customer service (no number provided obviously). PILE OF CRAP!

ESC TEST IMPOSSIBLE TO TAKE
Paid for the course, money was taken easily ( of course) but the test is impossible to take. Have spent the whole weekend trying to start the course, as I did last weekend too.
Have turned off every device in the house and as soon as I log on, I am logged out within seconds.
Its an absolute joke of a system.
The whole experience does not work and needs urgently looking into, as livelihoods are at stake here.

Absolute joke of a company to deal with. I've been in the industry for 30+ years, but because I don't have apprenticeship deeds, I can no longer get a card for my profession. I've had 2 previous ECS over the years, but they've now changed the rules so I have to get a card for a profession I don't even work in. Everything about the application process is frustrating, time consuming and poorly designed. Why do I need to pay for this every 5 years? I get absolutely nothing for my money except grief.

got online assessment on 11.05 2025 , start questioning from 50... to 1, spent 5 mins to get from start 1... 50, have hours by when waiting final result ,still pending result , money maker organization.

Same as everyone else it seems, paid for the health and safety assessment online on the 21 of March and
as of 7 of April still can't take the assessment. Emailed them multiple times and tried calling and can't get through to ANYONE! In 10 years I haven't managed a problem free application. This people are a joke and scammers!
edit: after managing to get in touch with JIB the receptionist took my details directly to the ECS floor and things got moving fast after that. Thank you to Maddison from ECS as well.

Paid for online assessment 4 days ago. It doesn't work. No reply to emails or messages sent from within the portal. Telephone numbers are either unrecognised or contain recorded information that is unhelpful and/or irrelevant. Cannot work without my ECS card and I am running out of optioins. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. There is none. Laughably, it says below this box that this message will be forwarded to an ECS email address that I have tried writing to but is no longer in service!

It's all a money making scam. Why do I have to take some dumb H&S exam every time my card expires for the rest of my life. I scored 100% on the last exam. It's stupid I refuse. You are ruining the trade and ruining the country. Scammers. After applying once it should all be free.

Absolutely awful. Scandalous organisation...Took my £100+ and can't log in...staff are useless. Even emailed top man Jay Parmer, to email address on the website only for that to be bounced back to me saying it can't be delivered, then have the audacity to say there's a "shortage" of electricians. I'm not surprised...tried to get help on X (Twitter), despite being told the site is monitored, no reply to my DM or my post even being acknowledged. The JIB/ECS are not fit for purpose. If it was a horse it would have been shot a long time ago...The government needs to look into this scam site. I was once proud to be a part of the JIB, not any more...
