I had a very frustrating experience trying to delete my EasyEquities account. The process is unnecessarily complicated and poorly explained.

One of the requirements is to clear out all holdings, including demo accounts, but this was not clearly communicated. As someone unfamiliar with how a “sell order” works, I found the process confusing and not user-friendly at all. On the Android app, the option to sell assets is buried under multiple tabs, making it difficult to find and execute.

The website states that you can request to close your account by contacting the Client Experience team, yet there are no clear contact details provided on the account closure page. This lack of transparency is unacceptable. I attempted to submit a support ticket, but there wasn’t even a relevant category for account closure or deletion, which made the process even more frustrating.

I eventually had to resort to contacting support via WhatsApp just to initiate the process. Even then, I’ve been told I must wait several days for demo sell orders to process before my account can be closed.

To make matters worse, their own Privacy Policy states that they retain user data even after account closure. Specifically, it says: “we are required to retain your records for a period of 5 years after our business relationship has terminated.”

This raises serious concerns around data privacy and user rights, particularly in relation to the POPIA Act in South Africa which gives users the right to request deletion of their personal information and data at any time.

Using EasyEquities has been an unnecessarily difficult and stressful experience. I do not recommend this platform for beginners looking to start learning about investing/shares at all.

The lack of clarity, poor user experiencel and inadequate customer support will make the journey very confusing.

Easy withdrawal process, more educational and information platform for personal development. Never had issues with either investing/reinvesting or withdrawal process. I took time to read in this already made, available & made easy information in order to empower myself so as to understand and grow f5om this amazing platform.

Easy equity forces you to engage on some weird loyalty points. if not you account goes to negative.
IF I want engagement I will go Facebook. this is not a platform for that.

Ow yeah they charge you every month for that. your account will go to negative to a point where they sell your stock to cover those weird shit.

Absolutely shocking service level. I have been trying to withdraw my own funds from EE for over 2 months. Nobody responds to my tickets, emails, and there’s no phone line to contact them. Essentially, they are holding cash that doesn’t belong to them with zero repercussions. The moment I get my money out, I’m closing my account. There are so many better platforms globally.

If there was less than 1 star I would use it. Actually less than 1. How can they be so bad!! Quickly removing all my international shares from them , very concerning they hold millions of rands of my money and do not reply to tickets at all!!! Absolutely disgusting. There is not even a complaints option on their tickets. Still waiting for my international shares to be transferred over 2 months later. Soon will be legal action

I initially brought up an issue with the system site in November 2025, which meant that I was unable to deposit funds into my account and was subsequently charged the Thrive fee, although I proactively reached out to support to find ways to deposit with no response. After the fact I then requested the fee to be removed and reimbursed as I had no way of achieving "Thrive status" these tickets and requests were ignored and never resolved. It has now been over 4 months and still no support and no solution. The platform is good, but if you ever encounter any issues the support is poor and non-responsive this is sadly the second issue with my account, and it continues to be a case of awful customer service.

No help NO response even on Purple complain email!! Pathetic service STAY away from Easy Equities!!!!! Very very frustrating !!

I raised a query requesting for my company banking details to be verified since the 31st of December. And three tickets and 6 days later the only communication there’s still no response except the ticket number e-mail. This is for a query that the company claims it will resolve in 48 hours.

Easy Equities support service is horrendous. I found it impossible to get hold of anyone to assist with my query. Their automated systems did not address my problem. I am never, ever using them again.

I am having the worst experience with them right now I have a lot of money invested with them and I literally cannot move it because of a issue on their system about KYC - I’ve created about 3 tickets now and nobody is responding anywhere tickets 3349082 and 3349374. At this point they may as well have stolen my money

Do NOT invest with this platform. It is overly complicated and withdrawal of funds are restricted to a few hundred rands per day. Similarly, selling shares can only be done a few shares at a time. All rigged for the owners to make more fees. Do NOT ever invest with this platform.

I started investing with EE around 9 years ago and they seemed to be run quite well back then, although always quite high charges for investing.

The story has completely changed and I feel this company is on a very quick path to full incompetence.
I've been trying for at least 6 weeks to get a new bank account verified. I haven't received a reply for the last 4 weeks to around 7 emails I've sent.

At this point, I feel I don't have a choice to do with my own money as I want to and no one will respond.
I'm closing my account as soon as I can.

I highly recommend using a different platform.

There is no way to get out of Easy Properties using the auction. Absolutely no way! I've been stuck with The Bailey shares for multiple auction cycles. And what about Blackbrick Gardens - when is that going to be even built?? I just want to close my account.

Best fractional diy investing platform for your everyday man. If not for Easy Equities I believe I would not have started my investment journey till much later in my life. Added benefit, being able to open an account for your child linked to yours helping them start their investment journeys from day 1.

SCAM website, terrible customer service, no responses to any tickets logged, funds deposited as per their website never get allocated to your account or you have to log hundreds of tickets to get in touch with someone, and they change the rules every time to avoid transferring your funds

I urge people not to deposit their retirement funds to this platform. They clearly have a liquidity pool problem, and their support is dismal, especially when you consider the fact that they're responsible for so many people's assets. It has a great UI for people looking for an introduction into financial markets, but don't trust them with any amount you can't afford to lose. Smells like a Steinhoff situation.

I love EasyEquities. They have made investing available to the public in such a simple and user friendly manner. If it wasn't for EasyEquities, I don't believe I would have started my investment journey until much later in life.

I asked for guidance on how to create an Alert.
In summary the Agent's suggested route is mind boggling to say the least.
After being in existence for more than a decade you would expect more.
Purple Group needs throw in the towel based just on incompetence.
