CAM ALERT! Deceptive Subscription Practices & Huge Price Hike without Notice! 😡

I'm writing this review to warn others about the incredibly dishonest subscription practices of Duplicator Pro. I've been a customer since 2024, paying $39.6 USD per year for their Basic plan. My subscription was due to renew on May 30, 2025.

I received a renewal notification email, but it completely failed to mention the renewal price. I naturally assumed it would be the same, given that's the standard practice for subscriptions.

Today, I was shocked to see I was charged $99 USD! That's a massive price hike (more than double!) with absolutely no prior warning. This is completely unacceptable and feels like a blatant attempt to scam their customers.

This kind of behavior is incredibly shady. They intentionally concealed the price increase, banking on people not noticing or being too busy to dispute the charge. It's a low tactic and shows a complete lack of respect for their customers.

I've contacted their support to demand a full refund and immediate cancellation of my subscription. I've cited EU consumer protection laws that require clear and upfront communication regarding price changes.
I strongly advise anyone considering Duplicator Pro to be very cautious and to carefully review their subscription terms. There are plenty of other backup plugins out there that are more transparent and trustworthy.

PROS: (Honestly, I can't think of any after this experience)

Lack of transparency
Questionable ethics
Poor customer communication
I will update this review if I receive a satisfactory response from their support team. Until then, I highly recommend avoiding Duplicator Pro.

I was able to connect with one person who understood my problem. It took many emails to experiment with different possible solutions to the problem (because it was an unusual problem) but I always had the sense that i was communicating to one person who understood.

I was given clear guidance on what to try to help solve the problem. In the end, Duplicator solved it.

I have truly never experienced such excellent customer service in all my professional and personal experience. Thank you Faysal and the team.

I used this once. It did the trick but not as good as backup buddy.
Got hit with a renewal fee but no renewal email reminder. They do say I was sent one but as usual with these companies, there was no renewal email. Spam doesn’t delete until 60 days and nothing showing up.
Overall, no refund even after contacting them less than 2 minutes after the money left my account.

I am really new to web development and have no Wordpress experience at all. I wanted to duplicate our existing site to use for another branch of our project. I upgraded to Duplicator Pro so that I could ‘clone’ my site but ran into difficulties that I couldn’t even understand, let alone fix. Just two emails to support later and it was done. So impressed with the support, the ease of use and the end result. Thank you!

He went beyond his limits and helped me migrate the website. He deserves kudos and appreciation.

This plugin is AWESOME. It SAVED my websites !
I recently transferred my sites from one hosting provider to another. I tried so many different plugins and methods. ONLY duplicator did the job, and flawlessly.
I ran into 1 issue and their help page instructed me on how to fix it. Was easy to follow, and I DID fix it.
Truly remarkable. I'm keeping it, to do backups of my sites periodically.
Can't say enough good things about Duplicator plugin for Wordpress !

When this company acquired SnapCreek they just told all the existing customers to pound sand and pay again. I would have never purchased an unlimited site license to only use it 3 times
