Dr Helen Allergy Omdömen 

We saw Dr Helen after we were failed by the NHS who refused allergy testing for my 11 month old daughter even after presenting in A&E with a severe allergic reaction. My daughter also suffers with eczema which we had never managed to get under control even with the help of a paediatric consultant.
After seeing Dr Helen her eczema has never been better! We also underwent SPT and confirmed the allergies we suspected.

Dr Helen was very kind, patient , warm and really friendly. Nothing was too much trouble . She was very informative and armed us with the tools to better manage our daughters allergies moving forwards. She communicated with us right up until the day of the appointment and kept in touch after to make sure we had understood everything or had any questions moving forwards. Dr Helen is very clearly a world leader in allergy treatment. This coupled with her ability to thoroughly engage with her teen patients and explain complex medical terminology in simple, easy to understand terms makes us feel we are in the best hands. From the first appointment she has given tips to immediately improve matters and we are now deep diving into the best way to resolve issues long term. She is super friendly with a great sense of humour that puts parents and children at ease from the first contact. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We've had a very good experience with Dr Helen. Our son had his allergy testing done within 48 hours of enquiring. Dr Helen went through everything with us and confirmed an allergy. She also explained immunotherapy which we didn't choose to try straight away. Several months later we decided to give it a go (when antihistamines weren't helping as much as we wanted) and the whole experience has been very straight forward with great communication. Highly recommended.

I took my 8 year old daughter to see Dr Helen, and my only regret is I didn’t do it sooner!
My daughter has had eczema for most of her life, but the last 6-12 months is it had became uncontrollable. It was waking her at night, and she was scratching herself so much she was bleeding and understandably very miserable. We had been using prescription medications for a while with minimal improvement.
Dr Helen is knowledgeable, approachable, kind, and an expert in her field. She prescribed us a new regime which I am really glad to say has been successful and my daughter eczema is now under control. She carried out an allergy test on my daughter, which has assisted us to eliminate contributing factors. We have a clear treatment plan, and know how to manage her symptoms.

Dr Helen completely rescued me and my family. Having been directed to various websites by the GP I was overwhelmed, confused and worried. The allergy world was new to me and it’s full of so much misinformation - I was lost. Dr Helen has a wealth of knowledge , experience and empathy that armed me with the tools I needed to go back to living life . A true expert in in allergy she takes the time to explain the testing procedure’s and results . She is warm amazing with children and a huge reassurance. I never felt like a nuisance or that she was to busy and she never once faltered when I asked the same question 100 different ways. She understands parental worry and wants the best for you all. I for one am so relieved that I found Helen she changed the path we were on as a family and I’ll be forever grateful.

We travelled from North Devon to see Dr Helen with my 3-year-old daughter who has peanut and nut allergies. We chose to see her based on her excellent reputation she has amongst the allergy community. My experience of the clinic from start to finish was excellent. When we arrived at the clinic we where greeted by Dr Helen's husband, Gareth. Gareth was so friendly towards us and made such an effort with my daughter. I was instantly put at ease by his warmth and friendly manner. I must also say that Gareth was extremely helpful in getting back to me via emails when Dr Helen was busy. They are such a good team together.

The appointment went so well. I have to say that it is probably the only appointment that I have come away from feeling positive, hopeful, well informed, listen to and we have a plan moving forward. The appointment was not rushed and all my questions were answered in detail. Dr Helen is such an approachable, knowledgeable and down to earth lady. It was very apparent that she is extremely passionate about her job and working with allergies. It was also refreshing to have a conversation with a doctor who actually understands what it is like as a parent to have a child with allergies, as she has experience of this with her own children. Even her clinic room has been well thought through and designed for children, it was filled with toys and crafts. This meant that I was able to sit and have a discussion with her about my daughter without constant interruption, as she was playing. Dr Helen had such a lovely approach to my daughter, who can be quite strong minded! It was lovely to see a doctor truly interacting and making the effort to build a rapport with my daughter.
