Absolutely fabulous experience... can't recommend these guys enough! Professional and explained everything too me... was going to have lasik but after test decided on smile and it was painless and super fast procedure... ive waited longer at a McDonald's drive thru... always on hand if needed and its a pretty much painless procedure... wish I done it earlier ...HIGHLY RECOMMEND...

Ich habe Dr. Berkay im Dezember 2025 wegen einer Augen OP besucht und war vom Erstgespräch bis zur OP sehr zufrieden. Das Team um Dr.Berkay ist sehr professionell und freundlich.Die Nachsorge war auch sehr gut. Jetzt 5 Monate später habe ich keinerlei Probleme und bin mit dem Ergebnis absolut zufrieden. Nochmals vielen dank an das ganze Team von Dr.Berkay.

Dr.Berkay Akmaz is since 2024 my doctor and did a successful surgery on me in January 2024.
I m happy with his and his teams handling and support since then. Questions and requests are fast and uncomplicated handled. Last time i visited him on 5th of February 2026 in Izmir. Dr.Berkay Akmaz and his personal assistant Ms.Beyza were helpful as always.

Hollanda'da yasiyorum ve orada muayene oldum ilk, miyop gozlerime bir care bulmak icin, ama icime sinmemisti ve iyi ki daha sonra Doktor Berkay Bey'i buldum. Orada fark etmedikleri gozlerimdeki retinal delik ve yirtiklari Berkay bey fark etti ve ayni gun argon lazer tedavisi oldum. Daha sonra ilk gelis amacim olan ICL Fakik Torik lens ameliyatimi planladik. Ameliyat cok hizli oldu, Berkay Bey ve ekibi cok cana yakin ve isini iyi yapan insanlar. Suan sanki gozlerimde lens varmis gibi geliyor etrafi gorebildigim icin. Kendisine ve ekibine tesekkur ediyorum, Doktor Berkay beyi gonul rahatligiyla oneriyorum.

Aynı gün içerisinde hem muayene olup hem de ameliyat olmak mükemmeldi, ayrıca ameliyat öncesi ve sonrası arasındaki görme farkı daha da mükemmeldi, ellerine sağlık Berkay hocam.

My presbyopia has significantly impacted my ability to perform screen-based work. I spent many years trying to alleviate the problem with a monitor work eyeglass. After concluding that both the computer eyeglasses and reading glasses greatly affect my quality of life, I began considering the Smart-Lens operation as an alternative solution.
First, I scheduled an appointment with a renowned professor at a well-known eye clinic in Izmir. In our personal discussion, however, he failed to leave me with the impression of a trustworthy sense of security to operate on me. Additionally, the procedure was unattractive to me because the cost he quoted matched those in my home country Germany.
On the recommendation of a friend from my close circle in Izmir, who formerly was the director of a private eye clinic, I contacted Assoc. Prof. Berkay Akmaz and arranged an appointment. Because of the many positive reviews I had read about him before the appointment, I already had a good first impression. In addition, during our personal conversation, he gave satisfactory answers to all my questions, was warm, relaxed, confident in his surgical success, trustworthy, and flexible regarding costs. He addressed my expectations, which ultimately led me to decide to have the operation with him.
I was operated on the same day at İzmir Özel Sağlık Hospital. First the right eye, then the left. The entire operation took about 30 minutes. I felt no pain. In the first hours after the operation, there was a slight burning and tingling around the eyes, which was considered normal. On the same day, I could see small details incredibly well up close. The vision for distance is not yet 100% as expected due to the technical design of the lens, and light sensitivity in the evenings and in sunlight is stronger in the first days, but it is developing positively day by day. In fact, Mr. Berkay Akmaz explained that further adaptation of the eyes occurs through the brain, which, like a process of acclimatization, accepts the foreign-body implant as part of the body and will bring the distance to the desired quality within about three months. He compared it to the example of a dental filling, where our tongue instinctively constantly checks the filling at first; after a while we forget it, and it becomes a normal part of the tooth.
I thank Assoc. Prof. Berkay Akmaz very much for the new quality of my eyes and my life. My special thanks also go to the clinic team: Beyza, Derya, and Gamze. I will definitely recommend Assoc. Prof. Berkay Akmaz to my close friends and relatives. It is very likely that we will contact you soon again with my wife for another operation.

Ich hatte am 20. Mai meine Augen lasern lassen und bin super zufrieden mit dem Ergebnis – es ist ein unglaubliches Gefühl, plötzlich ohne Brille klar zu sehen. Alles lief reibungslos ab, und ich hab mich von Anfang an gut betreut gefühlt. Ein ganz großes Dankeschön an die liebe Betül – sie war total herzlich und hat sich richtig gut um mich gekümmert. Würde ich jederzeit wieder machen und kann’s wirklich nur weiterempfehlen!

Göz lazer operasyonum için Türkiye’de Dr. Berkay Akmaz’a başvurdum ve Smile yöntemi ile ameliyatımı oldum. Sonuçtan inanılmaz memnunum! Şu anda çok net görüyorum ve herhangi bir sorun yaşamadım. Dr. Berkay işinde gerçekten çok başarılı ve güven verici. Ayrıca asistanı Beyza Hanım’a da ayrıca teşekkür etmek istiyorum; operasyon sürecinde ve sonrasında benimle çok ilgilendi, her sorumu sabırla yanıtladı ve hep yanımda oldu. I can only go by my experience & that is. I couldn’t recommend Dr Almaz high enough. I would trust him with my family. Polite. 100% professional. Helped me to relax by explaining everything. No waiting or hurriedness. Yesterday I had to wear glasses for 30 years. Today I can see. Hygiene, trip co-ordination & hotel was as good as can be. Everyone involved has been as good as gold. I have already recommended 2 friends who are booking.

Is not recommended at all.

I went to this doctor on a recommendation because I couldn't see near well.
They offered me a lens operation.

Despite the fact that my eyes were inflamed at the time, they performed the surgery and said there would be no problems.
After the operation, I couldn't see the distance and had extreme pain and burning in my eyes.
They said it would get better with time.
It has now been 5 months and I still can't see the distance and the symptoms haven't got any better (rather worse).

I have not received any concrete support against this victimisation.

And another thing:
I had to pay all the costs in advance.
After several requests, I received the bill a few months later, but only for half of it.

Disappointment!

It was 10 min each eye totally pain free
Now I don’t need any glasses at all it’s just amazing
