I accidently gave the site permission…
I accidently gave the site (download.cnet.com) permission to send me push notifications and it suddenly bombarded me with fake system warnings telling me I had no virus protection which redirected me to a download page.
I had to block the site.
I'd expect this from some dodgy wares site. Not an established brand.
Do better.

CNET shopping help does show better prices or if you have the best price...with caveats!!
If this is CNET shopping I can say that they really do what they say. I have been using this in conjunction with Amazon for several months now and it does check prices and popup for every item. It will say if I have the best price or if there is a better price. Sometimes the "better price" is not on an exact item or a wrong item. There is always a question waiting to ask if this was a good transaction, You are not commit.ed at that point and can say yes or no. If it is not a good one there are several reasons to pick as to why. This helps their system refine it's searches, I guess to match items better. On numbers of occasions I have found the items to be a match and have ordered from the other company and saved considerable money, on others the savings were so minimal I went with Amazon for ease and the security of return capability or whatever. I do see CNET as a help. One caution - it DOES like to be a bit of a bulldog and sometimes will continue to popup when you need it not to and you have to really work to keep it off. But it can usually be tamed just fine.
