Total scam

Total scam!
Charged the payment and supposed to provide direction to available parking space, but the space that was provided was occupied by another vehicle.
Refused to return the payment and said they are responsible for nothing!

Bad experience

I was informed by my airbnb about this app (DesParking) for parking. We stayed at The Ark, Canary Wharf London from 7th to 9th. The booking was smooth but when it came time to park, the premises shutter was down and no one to respond. The email gives you a code to enter which didn't work but the email also states that if it is closed then to park on the ramp or entrance which I did. I tried to call through the intercom for customer service but there was no response so I sent an email. I got a reply back saying that they were processing. Didn't hear back from them in those 3 days. I paid 42 pounds for the 7th to 9th. Yesterday was surprised to see, I recd 3 mails from CPM UK Car Park Management with a 100 pound charge for each day for breach of parking on private land. If I pay immediately then it's 60 pounds per day. I immediately wrote to DesParking and tried to call o the number I found on the website. No one has replied to my emails and the nber gives a constant busy tone. I suppose this is a scam and I have appealed as I have all the proof to show that I was in accordance of the rules for parking and have alos paid for the time my car was parked there.

No contact from DesParking when we…

No contact from DesParking when we weren’t able to access the car park. Phone number didn’t work.

Currently I’m assuming they are a scam company because they have yet to respond. The security at the car park said that they aren’t aware of a DesParking actually operating at the location.

Update: I sent DesParking a separate enquiry about renting out a space of my own and they responded within 2 hours. I am still waiting for them to respond to my original email on April 26th at the time of not being able to gain access. Not customer friendly.

Desparking is a complete scam

Desparking is a complete scam. They sold me a parking space that they didn’t even own. A few days after parking there, the concierge informed me that I was unlawfully parked and that the actual space owners demanded I leave. I was lucky not to receive a PCN.

After this, I immediately requested Desparking to cancel my monthly booking and refund my £150 deposit. Not only did they refuse to compensate me for the remaining days, but they also charged me for the next month—despite their own terms stating that cancellations are allowed up to 48 hours before the booking starts.

In short, avoid Desparking at all costs. They will take every pound you give them and will refuse to return anything. In addition to that you will probably get a PCN

UPD: I did leave a 5-star review initially, but my opinion quickly changed after I was told to get out of someone’s parking space otherwise I would get PCN!

You used our services and later requested a cancellation outside the permitted timeframe. As explicitly outlined on our platform, refunds are not available once parking has commenced.

Additionally, it is clearly stated in our terms that we do not own or manage any of the parking spaces listed on our platform. We act solely as a platform that connects parking space owners with drivers. At no point have we claimed ownership or management of any parking spaces.

We have followed the correct procedures and protocol, you can keep spreading false information as you wish.

While you are free to express your views, the facts remain unchanged. You are not eligible for a refund, and our policies are in place to ensure fairness for all users. Untrustworthy crooks

Received a parking ticket despite having paid via Desparking. They replied to one email saying they would look into it. Then nothing. I am now £100 out of pocket following failure of appeal to POPLA and still no response from Desparking to multiple emails - and their website is also now down

DO NOT TRUST - £170 FINE

I prebooked with Desparking to park in Citipark’s clipstone carpark. And I have been fined £170.

For my booking Desparking sent me an email confirmation/receipt. #4861.

I complied with the booking date and times. Ten weeks later I received an aggressive letter from DCBL debt collectors saying I owe them £170 for parking without a valid ticket. They say they are acting for a company called BaySentry solutions. No-one had contacted me in advance of this letter. Check out the major issues with DCBL and BaySentry on trust pilot.

Desparking now claim it’s nothing to do with them. And refer me to their terms and conditions.

They claim they’re a platform like Airbnb. Not only is this ridiculous attempt to exonerate responsibility but Desparking never provided details of their so called parking space “host”. So I’ve no idea whom I allegedly contracted with if it wasn’t Desparking. And Airbnb would go out of business overnight if they operated like this ie if the ‘hosts’ started fining the ‘guests’ x17 times the amount Airbnb charged for their stay and threatened them with legal action.

There is no point in this Desparking ‘platform’ if the ticket you receive is deemed not valid. I can only assume someone is committing fraud somewhere here.

I booked in advance. I have confirmation of payment and parking terms. Desparking told me initially that they would resolve the fine as an urgent priority. But now say it’s nothing to do with them. How is that even possible?

I have received a fine and a threat of legal action as a result of wrongly trusting Desparking.

Check the one star trust pilot reviews for Desparking. I wish I had. Desparking claims it’s a proud member of the British Parking Association. If that Association is of any standing then Desparking is degrading it.

All these companies (Desparking, Citipark, DCBL, BaySentry) are abusing the honest consumer and they act shamefully compared to other service industries. Yet they are given the ultimate privilege of access to customer personal information and are clearly exploiting this position.

Desparking can resolve this immediately by sending me the £170 payment for the fine which I will have to pay to avoid a CCJ and resolving the issue with their “host” whom they contracted with.

UPDATE: SEE DESPARKING REPLY - THEY ADMIT:

1. They’ll issue you with a permit to park “thank you for shopping with us”
2. The permit they issue can be deemed not valid.
3. You can be fined for having no permit to park. What they issue is worthless. I got a £170 fine.
4. Desparking say it’s nothing to do with them. That I need to sort out the “dispute” but they understand my frustration.

False parking access info

Paid for a parking space but was provided with incorrect information to access the parking bay. Recommend avoiding and using a more reputable brand like JustPark.

I used this parking service in the IG11 Fresh Wharf…

I used this parking service in the Fresh Wharf area of IG11. Was told where to park by this company and still received a PCN stating that they were a third party provider with no connection to who it needed to be. Very disappointed won’t be using them again

Great parking space with incredibly…

Great parking space with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. While I was initially concerned about leaving my key, everything went smoothly with no issues at all. The location is a convennient 10-15 - minute walk to the Royal London Hospital, which was easily manageable with a wheelchaie. I highly recommend this parking space.

Attending a concert was made so much…

Attending a concert was made so much easier with this service. I waited in the car for 20 minutes to avoid therain, and Michael kindely came out to check on us, offering assiatnce with directions or local recommendations. I'll definitely use this service again for futures tips.

Fantastic

The clear directions and helpful photo of the parking space made it easy to find and gave us peace of mind. It was just a short walk to our destination, which was perfect after a long journey. Great value for money and a safe spot our car.

Scam!

This is a scam company, I have had a similar experience to others on here. Paid for parking and then received a parking charge notice. Contacted Des Parking in all sorts of ways but received no response (funny that they seem to respond on here!). You can find director's details on Companies House (and Linkedin) if you wish to contact them via this route. We should all report them to trading standards. You can also report them to the police. Secondly, I would advise disputing the payment you made to your bank so that you can at least get that money back. It may be worth reporting them to ico.org.uk for GDPR too as we are unable to contact them to release our data. Report to Google for not having legitimate reviews. Report company to gov.uk - complain-company. Report to the British Parking Association. These people need to be held accountable for ripping people off.

05-12-24 They are now requesting more details from me via Trustpilot and if I don't respond within 2 days, my review will be taken down. This is precisely what they are looking for - they will do anything for the review to be taken down. I have contacted them by email but they never respond to me or anyone else, however on here they contact Trustpilot extremely promptly as these sort of reviews will ultimately affect their income!!!

I am not spreading false information at all, lots of people have had the same experience.

You are NOT GDPR compliant, but no doubt have updated your website to reflect this as I have highlighted it. How can you be compliant when people can't contact you to remove their data?

You are hiding behind your T&Cs and how can you can compare yourself to AirBnB - they are providing accommodation that actually exists - your parking spaces don't! Your T&Cs cannot be legal as you are selling something that isn't there or available - you ARE responsible as you have accepted payment for this. Actually, when time permits I will be reviewing your T&Cs for legal compliance.

PLEASE BE AWARE EVERYONE - I have contacted this company several times prior to this review via the email addresses they provided below, they had ample opportunity to respond and didn't. They also don't provide a contact number either. They hide behind their website or platform being updated - rubbish!

The only reason they have responded on here, is to be able to keep their business going in the hope that people will think they are reputable or in the hope that Trustpilot will take down the complaint.

I have paid my fine, and know full well that this company would never refund me any money. My only reason to continue to report on here is to protect others.

'Our team is always committed to assisting our customers, and we respond to all enquiries.' RUBBISH - What team? You can't be contacted!!!

My criticism of your company is not unfounded, as there are many other negative reviews (the ones that are still on here) saying the same, we can't all be incorrect!

I congratulate you on your response, it is well formulated but sadly I am not spreading misinformation, and I strongly believe that scam companies need to be reported, and I request that others do the same.

If you really want to prove yourself as being legitimate why not respond to all your customer email complaints personally? When I receive an actual email response, I will let everyone know on here.

However, we would have appreciated it if you had contacted us directly with your details so we could investigate the matter thoroughly and process a refund if you were not at fault. Our team is always committed to assisting our customers, and we respond to all enquiries. Please note, though, that our platform is currently being updated, and automated emails have been sent to customers explaining there may be delays in response times.

Regarding your suggestion that we are a “scam company,” this is entirely unfounded. Trustpilot verifies all reviews to ensure their authenticity. Moreover, it is incorrect to claim we aim to remove negative reviews. In fact, negative reviews help us improve our services, and we welcome feedback—whether positive or negative. Seems a scam company, best way to ruin your journey.

My last message to them via Whatsapp : I left several messages to your support without any answer so far. I have a reservation for my car at Hooper Road Car Park (plate number XXYYYZZ) I Went there, but there is absolutely no public car park. All places are residential and unauthorised parking is strictly prohibited with the risk of being towed away. You charged me £ 44,50 for a non existent parking. I have been to Plaistow Police station who said that I should go to Stratford police station to file a claim. It turns that your service is ruining my Journey. Are you just robbing money to customers? I suspect that all positive reviews on this site are fake, in support of your scam.
After reading your answer : Happy to learn that you are still living: my emails and whatsapp messages did not receive more than an automated answer. You claim “We would like to clarify that we are a booking platform that connects drivers with parking space owners.” Sorry but you are not even doing as little as that. On November 8th, you charged me 44,5£ and all I got was a message indicating :

Nothing more, no parking address, no more precise location, no phone number, nothing. I wanted to extend the duration and sent you a mail that never got more than an automated message announcing possible delays in the treatment of my request. I supposed that there would be a sign on the road indicating a car park, but Hooper Road is just a road with a lot of houses, residential parking everywhere and not the slightest sign of so called “Hooper Road E16 3QW”. The only thing that works in your business is charging me 44,5£ before anything. The least you should do is to check that the proposed parkings are existing and supply relevant information to the customer. But you don’t. No valid contact for service, you only answer to negative posts on Trustpilot, about the same each time, immediate debit of service price, no confirmation of parking reservation, no invoice, no instructions to access parking or parking owner, I CONFIRM THIS IS SCAM. If it is not, surprise me, just demonstrate by refunding the money that you took for nothing.

It appears that you are holding us accountable for an issue with the parking space host. While we understand your frustration, it is important to note that we do not control the availability or condition of individual parking spaces. You are, of course, welcome to report any concerns to the relevant authorities, but our platform’s responsibilities are clearly outlined.

Regarding reviews, we take all feedback seriously, and while we regret that your experience was not positive, many users have had successful bookings through our service. Our intent is never to scam anyone, especially for the sum of £44.50. I would like to also add that TrustPilot verifies all reviews like they verified yours to make sure they are genuine before they are allowed on their platform so the point you have made is totally invalid. 24 Carpenters Road E15 2JE Parking

I was unable to find a space at the location that I had booked for my friend and myself on Sunday 24th November.
May I suggest that you contact whoever is responsible for this space to check that you are advertising a space that exists and if it does I would be interested to know where the actual space was, so please send me a picture if you have one so i can see where i should have been able to park.
I could not see any contact phone numbers on my paperwork to call the host, and could not email or take pictures as i was driving around trying to find the space to park which was making me late for my appointment, so i emailed when i got home and have done so again several times since but as yet all i have had is an automated email response with no reference to refer to or show that my email has been read. In the end i had to park somewhere else, and even though you do not own the spaces and I’m sure other customers as your reviews suggest have had a good experience, unfortunately this will deter me from using your services again.

All spaces by the bus stop D Gibbins Road which we were told to look for were full and marked permit only and there was no way of finding any space allocated to our car. There were no other spaces in Carpenters Road E15 2JE and no 24 did not exist . All we could see was parking for a derelict block of flats which was empty that was run by P4 private parking. Very disappointed.
FYI the booking was under the name of my friend Christine as she was driving her car which is the car listed on the booking but I was the passenger and made the booking and paid for the parking.

Now December and sadly I have received no response in any format from this company so can only assume that they are happy to knowingly take money for a space that did not exist. I have not been rude and even requested a photo of the space so that I could see where I should have been able to park but no response.
I know you are a registered company as I checked before I booked so all I can assume is that you have no conscience and assume no responsibility for your “hosts”, whose details I never received and for all I know do not exist.
I would have thought that out of respect for your customer and for your reputation as a legitimate business you would have wanted to know if one of your “hosts” was tarnishing your reputation by offering a space to you that either doesn’t exist or is not easy to find, which by default makes you look bad but obviously I am wrong. An apology and a refund would have been more businesslike as you could have legitimately been fooled by this particular “host “ but nothing, so I will not waste my time any longer trying to obtain some kind of businesslike response as you are obviously not a regular professional business as any other business would be worried that they had been misled and would want to sort it out not hide behind a disclaimer email that makes you look like you couldn’t care less, so I take it as a lesson learned.
Disappointed and frustrated with your lack of service and it obviously won’t bother you but I will not book again.

Easy to find spaces where a bit tight…

Easy to find spaces where a bit tight but there was enough space for our car and it was a 4x4 it was less than 5 minute walk to Buckingham place and a 5 minute walk from tube station so all around great place it did us well and I would definitely use again
