Closed with no warning and no access to download purchases
They WERE a fabulous company, and I purchased from them for about 6 years on a semi-regular basis.
Four days ago, they sent out an email saying they were closing their doors. I went to the website to try to download my purchases and the website was completely redirected to Creative Market, with no access to anything. No information was sent out until the next day, when they said things had been going downhill for 3 years and that they didn't yet have a way to let us access our downloads. A further email the day after that suggests it will be 1-2 weeks before they have any news on that, but they're working on a solution...but they didn't tell us beforehand because the spike in downloads would have bankrupted the business.
The whole winding-up process has just been SERIOUSLY mishandled, and Creative Market, who acquired only their domain name and social media handles, says they can't help us with anything as they don't have the information to do so.

Can't use the products I bought!
DC was a great resource for designers like me, until now. They closed down without any notice to their loyal customers and now I am left with no access to my products. As customers, we were promised a lifetime access, however, they have gone back on their words.

This company closed down without any…
This company closed down without any prior notice to its customers, leaving many of them at a loss.
They failed to transfer information to the acquiring company, leaving customers completely powerless.
Attempts to reach out via email are met with nothing but robotic automated responses.
I regret trusting this company and recommending it to others.
They’ve used the worst possible method to shatter trust in the digital content market.
Even the acquiring company, Creative Market, now seems questionable.

They closed without notice and now I have no access to the huuuuge number of purchases I made, including two packs I purchased on January 15 that I never even got to download. Made the purchase, went to bed with the intention of downloading in the morning, but when I woke up, all Design Cuts urls were repointed to Creative Market. No, they didn’t transfer customer assets. I’m left with nothing. Never would have made the purchase if I knew I wouldn’t even be able to access the files I paid for.

They closed their site with no consideration for any of the customers! I had lots of downloads I never got to utilize! I’m thoroughly disgusted with this horrible experience! Poor business practices! Forget Creative Market as their go to!

Suddenly I get an email and Design Cuts is over and out
Suddenly I get an email and it's over, site is gone and so are all my files I bought in recent years, without any warning. The mail:
"Dear Design Cuts Community,
After 11 wonderful years, it is with a heavy heart that we announce that Design Cuts must close our doors. We deeply appreciate the support of our incredible customers and community throughout this journey. We are grateful to be partnering with Creative Market, who are acquiring the Design Cuts brand.
Though this announcement may feel sudden, we trust they will provide you with a welcoming and supportive place to discover the best creative assets and inspiration.
We understand that this news may come as a surprise, and we appreciate your understanding during this change. Thank you for being a vital part of our story and for being the greatest community we've ever known.

Since a lot of bundles are terrabytes of stuff a lot of people only download what they use right away. If we had know the site would stop, we would have been able to download our bought designs. The new owner of the domain and Design Cuts brand claims "Creative Market is unable to access any historical Design Cuts records and past purchase or sale information." So going there for your stuff wont help either.
And the co founder Tom Ross is actively teaching people how to build a community. I don't think this is how he would teach people to stop one...
Update: they are working hard to make things right. Several new email messages explaining the situation and they did come up with a way to reach the files and invoices. However I don't know the exact situation, I do have the feeling there must have been other options. For now I've changed from 1 star to 3 stars.
Update II I've got the files back and it looks like everyone is getting them. Compliments to the team for putting in the effort to make this happen. Changed to 4.

No way to contact customer service
From what I can see, this site is poorly managed and like so many digital products sites there is no way to contact anyone if there's a problem or get a refund when these products don't work. I could not find any way to contact customer service. I bought a set of halftone effects for Photoshop that simply did not work at all. When I tried to get a refund I was unable to even sign-in – 15 minutes after i had placed my order. I guess I will just have to kiss the money goodbye.

Design Cuts: a must-have for designers
I've been a fan of Design Cuts since the beginning. There's a diverse range of products for all kinds of creative people, for all budgets. Perfection is not in this world, but with Design Cuts, we have an exception that almost proves the rule. I'm very demanding when it comes to my purchases, and I can say that the team is there for me if I have any problems, which are also very rare. Whenever I need something, Design Cuts is the place to go without hesitation. I know the site very well, and I have no desire to go anywhere else. Above all, I'm quite loyal to certain designers, but I'm always open to new things. I haven't yet found customer service on a par with Design Cuts. I absolutely love this site and I'll admit I've been a frequent customer. As a digital artist it's where I go for all my painty needs. I love the deals, the weekly freebies, the support staff is fantastic and responsive. I've never been left to figure stuff out by myself. The community it great too.
