Application rejected with no meaningful guidance
I had a very disappointing onboarding experience with DEGIRO.
After applying, my registration was closed due to “policy/security requirements”, but no meaningful explanation was provided. I used a valid passport and provided the requested information, so the lack of clarity was frustrating.
I understand that brokers have regulatory and security obligations, but the customer experience around rejection is poor. If an application is declined, customers should at least receive a clearer explanation or guidance on whether the issue can be corrected.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend DEGIRO for anyone looking for a straightforward onboarding process.

Hello Mike,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your account application was not successful and that the information provided did not give you the clarity you were looking for.
As a regulated broker, DEGIRO is required to apply various legal, regulatory, and security checks during the onboarding process. In some cases, we may be unable to proceed with an application based on these requirements, and we understand that receiving limited information about such a decision can be frustrating.
We appreciate your comments regarding the communication around declined applications and the need for clearer guidance. Feedback like this helps us evaluate how we can improve the client experience while meeting our regulatory obligations.
Kind regards,
DEGIRO

Degiro is good in trading but miserable…
Degiro is good in trading but miserable in credit dividends or cash distribution.
They deduct tax on tax free products and do not bother to reply if you complain.
My highlight is that a dividend for Ambev was booked payable is 2027.
No good for returns , option , crypto or any advanced products be aware

Hello Chris,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We are sorry to hear that you have encountered issues with dividend processing and tax deductions. We take this kind of feedback seriously. Dividend payments and tax handling should be processed correctly and on time, and a booking showing a payment date in 2027 is something we would like to look into.
If you would like us to investigate this further, please contact us through our official Service Desk, so we can safely review your specific situation and help you further: clients@degiro.ie
