profoundly disappointing and deceiving
I left a positive review earlier this year because I used the service for a trial to increase the quality of my CV. So far so good. I knew that after 14 days it would automatically renew to a regular subscription, so I specifically contacted the chat support prior to that date to ensure that nothing would happen and that I wouldn’t be charged.
I was assured by a support agent named Daniel D. that everything was correctly dealt with, that I didn’t have to pay for anything, and that no further action from my side was necessary. I trusted him. I never visited the platform ever since, until a couple of days ago when I noticed they have been taking money from me for the last three months although on the website it says, I’m on the free plan. They charged me four times in total for a service I never used and never authorized.
UPDATE: the issue has been resolved but I wish they would have a more transparent communication nonetheless I received most of my money back, and hope the subscription is now cancelled for real.

Refusing to issue a promised £50.70 refund!
Ticket ID: E13ZE6-EJZK2 / E10G70-N74J6. Support agent Evelyn G. acknowledged in writing that a £50.70 refund was authorized for unauthorized charges (05/02, 05/03, 02/04) and promised a supervisor update within 72 hours. It has been almost a week, and they are completely ignoring my follow-up emails. Still waiting for my £50.70 refund to card ending in 8016. Escalating to Action Fraud and Trading Standards.
UPDATE (14 Aug): CV Genius is now trying to manipulate the situation by listing old July refunds to avoid paying the ADDITIONAL £50.70 promised on Aug 6th by agent Evelyn G. for Feb/Mar/Apr charges. They still owe £50.70 to card 8016!
