I've had several issues with this company since purchasing. I've tried to remain patient but the one I can't overlook is that THEY SENT MY RESULTS THROUGH PLAIN, UNSECURED EMAIL! What type of bang-up company masquerading as "healthcare" does such a thing? I will be terminating my services with them immediately.
Surprise fees
When I purchased the kit, I had to pay extra for delivery, for "advanced" analysis, for storage, for everything. You can't cancel your storage unless it's at least 60 days before your renewal date. This whole service just feels like it is full of surprise fees. I would find an alternative.
Edit: It seems they have a right to my semen even if I want to discard it? From their own contract,
"Upon termination … any remaining semen … shall become the sole and exclusive property of CryoChoice, and CryoChoice … shall have the absolute unfettered right to either continue storing or immediately destroy … without further notice."
I am canceling asap
1) Will spring a agreement on you after purchasing and before shipping.
2) Agreement doesn't cover medical privacy.
3) Agreement is forced arbitration and limited damages
4) Package must be shipped same day as collection of sample. Must be dropped off at a FedEx shop before last ship out time. No drop off points or 3rd party vendors.
5) If you have questions, they say they'll call back. They won't.
6) If you close the sample cup tightly, they don't provide or recommend taping it closed. This is so they can blame the user when it ships and leaks. It's easy to prove proper taping. It's hard to prove proper tightening. I would have had to video tape myself screwing close the top, which I sadly didn't think of in time.
7) After you ship your sample they will claim it leaked, without giving proof and then say you can try again for a further $114 that was never mentioned before.
8) If you try to call for a refund, they will promise to call you back after talking with the manager or looking up info. They won't. In fact I first just called just to get the $114 waves but their lack of response led me to calling for a refund.
9) Eventually they responded to an email where I threatened to go to PayPal. They only offered a partial refund or to continue with that surprise $114.
The cancellation process is a nightmare. You have to cancel 60 days prior to renewal. They send you a reminder 75 days before your account renews. Is there a form on line? Nope you have to email them to get the form then get it notarized AND THEN you have to pay a cancellation fee that is MORE than the annual fee. Oh AND they are jerks about the whole thing. Also I hope you never actually have to use your stored specimen. They require a $200 fee and a battery of tests that they conveniently can send you for another $200. They take advantage of people in a stressful time. Buyer beware
Very bad customer service. This bad service happens when you want your specimen released. No one picks your call and no one returns your calls or replies your emails.They are only interested in the money you pay.
The entire process was very simple, fair pricing, especially when compared to specialized fertility clinics and storage facilities.
The purchase process was seamless and there was no shortage of extremely helpful information to prepare and educate us for what had to be expected.
The customer service that we interacted with was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We didn't make the purchase until we had gotten all our questions answered by both phone and email. Overall they were fast to respond and knew exactly how to help.
We couldn't be happier with the process, and would recommend CryoChoice to anyone hoping to test and store sperm.
